Yahoo finance could be the most important way for millions of investors to do serious financial homework and share it but the actual people who run it are almost 100% incapable and have made it worthless. Nobody in investment works harder and is smarter than the millions of individual investors who are looking for ideas and are willing to share but Yahoo has installed automated software that makes it impossible to use the site for real important research.
I have found and verified several outright lies on the Yahoo Finance site with one regarding ME holdings being reported to the SEC. These lies consist of events that never happened as well as referencing investors, financial writers and analysts that either don't exist or had their names used without their knowledge. Yahoo Finance will print virtually anything if they are paid enough. I would have rated them at 0 if it were possible.
Many quotes, including foreign blue chips, are suddenly not updated for days, weeks, or months! You must always double check the information as it might be obsolete.
The articles are worthless, its the commentary that contains more useful data and that's about the only thing saving yahoo
Yahoo's portfolio news is now just a bunch of sponsored ads combined with tabloid style articles. Actual financial news of companies in your portfolio are few. Big disappointment over the original format.
