Warranty is BS, customer service is horrible, quality of light just ok at best.

If you purchase a headlamp that is sold under a companys most durable headlamps section which are made for and marketed to working professionals that cost $100 you would expect to get that normally. But you would be wrong instead you get ripped of on quality/durablilty which isnt good but you say to youself they have a great warranty so if it does have durability issues ur covered and thats why im paying $100 for a light but you would be wrong again. So i ordered th hm61r right angled headlamp and the actual light itself is decent but the problem arises in the headlamps construction/material design flaws as a headlamp itselt which is what they claim it is. Its starts wi5h the fact that they cheaped out and choose a cheap grade plastic bracket as the lights attachmement/rhe deattachment point for rather then use what there competitor nitecores used which is a metal bracket utilized on the hc35. The mrtal desjgn is very durable compared to the fenix design aniveused that stle brCket For over 2 years now compared to the couple months I got out of the Phoenix before it broke and nightcore is still operational. Now i blame myself for not picking up on this before purchasing this ligght from fenix since i made a faiir and personal choice to buy it right? Worng again, or so i thought but there's a caveat for me making this mistake which is no fault of my own and it's becoming a trend with alot of companies these days. Ok so the reason I didn't pick up on this before purchasing is because the reviews are partl6 oor completely totally fake or I should say totally cherry pecked to their advantage so as to make me think this light was what it seemed which was a good light with a good warranty. But because they filter out the reviews they don't like i was being decieved and I know this 1st hand because I left a review after my customer service Experience which I will get to in a moment and that was just as bad as everything else unfortunately But the worst part is the review was never posted and pulled down instantly within about an hour or 2 after being posted. So I do at 1st end knowledge that they cherry pick their reviews and deceive their customers and to buying stuff that they don't get a real idea of how people really feel about it and what their experiences are with the lights and the service and the warranty which I will get Two now. Before I go on to my experience with customer service and they weren't I just want to make sure that I'm clear I did not use any profanity nor any negative language towards any individual personally or anything of that nature just an honest review of the light and my experience with it the companys customer service and the nonexistent vwarranty i paidtop dollar for. But turns out they only allow good reviews up there or at worst the ok reviews which seams Just wrong to do to me but obviously nothing can be done about that other then to make other customers aware of there deception And hopes that they will not get anybody else to be ripped off and maybe lose business and in turn maybe change their ways probably overly optimistic but yet at least it helps me no I'm fighting back against this c***. Like the other customers said and one of the reviews before me here it seems like the Chinese companies are slowly trying to take American money and frustrate the c*** out of us with poor service bed products and slowly do stabilize our economy which clearly is going on at the moment and a lot of people are blind to it. Ok OK so last part of this is about customer service and warranty experience which to break it to you straightforward lean off was terrible to say the least Guys soso when the plastic brack broke on my headlamp I called Customer service thinking I was getting a new bracket Shipped out as all it is as a piece of plastic you would think it'd be dirt cheap public penny's and that they would just ship it out since it isn't included in the warranty Right? Well wrong again according to that it's not included in the warranty of the light as stated when you purchase it Because it's considered an accessory and clearly accessories are not covered under their warranty. But I think that that is absolutely wrong again because again this is marketed as a headlamp a headlamp is something that stays on your head for the most part attached or not it's still the main part of the light is a headlamp and the headlamp stays on your light with the bracket connected to the headlamp all part of the headlamp not necessary as they're stating it is it's the headlamp itself and without it it becomes a right angle flashlight so you were pretty much buying a right angle flashlight under the impression that you're getting ahead lamp here because they don't want to warranty a 10 cent piece of plastic When you paid a $100 for the light and have to deal with all of this on top of that time wise and frustration wiseAnd this was explained to the customer service agent at the time but he said it's still an accessory and there's nothing you can doWell I'm going to try and return my newest order with them as this will not fly if I had known the customer service and warranty were a scam I would have never probably ordered anything from this company but as far as I know unless somebody comes and reaches out to me and does right by review will stand and hopefully warn others as to this company's ways. Oh and apparently that bracket that holds the light to your head That is not included under warranty because it's considered an accessory you cannot Even buy another one because they don't offer it on the website nor did they offer it when I called them and asked them can I purchase the parts since the light is useless as a headlamp which is what I bought it for and considering that part makes it a headlamp it's not necessary it's part of the light but anybody who's not running a scam company knows that I could understand if it was like a complete accessory that's not directly related to the functioning of the light as it's stated It is which It is Marketed and placed under a headlamp In the headlamp section of the most durable light Category They offer but I got nowhere with customer service and has no recourse but to post a review on there site and we know what happened there as I explained earlier. Honestly I'm thinking about doing YouTube videos reviewing a bunch of lights I purchased over the years recently and this will be one of my 1st reviews I think I'm gonna do especially if this is not made right which probably it won't be at this point I'm not keeping my hopes high considering what I've went through already but I'm open to forgiveness if someone actually reaches out like they did on some of the posts here and does the right thing as I like a working light at the end of the day but Phoenix shame on you you need to clean up your act over there as people will become wise to it If you even care.

Photo is a picture of the bracket with a rudimentary plastic welding job I did to be able to make it a headlamp again considering I couldn't order a part or even get it warranted just so you know what that is a picture of it works for now I don't know how long it will hold up but that's like a deal considering there's nothing else I can do OK anyway have a good day and hopefully you will not have the same experience I have had here avoid this company for now until they straighten up their act if they ever do.

Tip for consumers:

Don't use it period as it's waste of time and money. Complete waste of time doing reviews directly on fenix web site as it will be pulled as mine was.

RC 20 flashlight
January 18, 2020

I had a RC-15 that stopped working. I contacted the warranty department at Fenix and to make the story shorter I was sent an RC-20 as a replacement for the RC15. I wish I had gotten a RC-20 because I had several chargers for that model, but apparently no RC20's were available, for what ever reason. The first RC-20 was DOA. Back and forth with the warranty, trying to establish if it was the light or the battery. To me this is non-sense. Things breaking down is a fact of life, DOA is lack of quality control. Second one is sent in, I forgot what the problem was, but it didn't work either ( this has been about a year or so ago). I don't feel that I should have to keep a detailed log with every event for something as mundane as a flashlight. Third one is sent, a return label was issued, previous 2 lights are sent back to manufacturer. Well, I thought 3rd time is a charm. Not by any means. The problems I see with the RC-20 is that it didn't fit the old chargers, I'm not sure so much changing is actually better, not in my case. The location of the switch on the end cap, is not my favorite location because I'm old and the thumbs hurt to activate or change to light settings. Having 2 switches on the back cap, may work in theory, but in reality it is hard to do it. Light intensity keeps getting changed unintentionaly, I have big hands and almost impossible to reliably work the 2 switches as intended. Good idea, horrible execution There is on good point, one can check battery level with display LED, between charging poles.
And now for the final act, this freaking light has an intermittent problem, sometimes it turns on, or not turn on, then it doesn't turn off, or goes into strobe mode, all this at random. As far as use for as a tactical light it is a big zero. If you need to have something that must daze someone, or permit you to be concealed, forget this thing.
The last thing that you need is to have something that goes into flashing mode, when you don't want others to know where you are. I don't know if this is bad luck, poor design, execution of the project, or just cutting corners to be more profitable. Warranty department handling of the claim wasn't as smooth as I had from other light companies. Turn around however wasn't so bad.
I"m now back to contact the repair/warranty department and see what happens.
Definitely not a model that I would recommend, on the other hand the RC-15 worked very hard for a few years.
