I've bought several trees. Shipping a tree in a box is not what trees like, so don't expect it to arrive in nursery-fresh condition. Plan on giving the tree several weeks or more, with the correct fertilizer, soil and water, to come back from its dark travel experience. The advantage of mail-order from FastGrowingTrees.com, though, is a wider variety than a local nursery, especially if you're looking for something that's not for your climate zone. I have an insulated but un-heated space that supports trees that would not survive outside in the northeast, so the local nursery's selection is small. When I've had issues with the shipping company, FastGrowingTrees.com people stepped in and solved it with no hassle.
My trees were thriving for several months after they were planted. However the next spring they all looked dead on the top half and out of 50 trees 6 were completely dead. I talked with a representative and they gave me credit for the 6 dead trees, and said the rest would survive, but they did not.The insurance period ran out before they completely died, so I did not get reimbursed for 44 trees. It was a waste of a lot of good money.
I planted a five in one apple tree last year. It arrived with most of its leaves intact although I live in Northeast Iowa, a long way from the origin of Fast Growing Trees. I watered it after carefully replanting it in a sunny location. It remained vigorous and this year I allowed 4 apples to grow on the branches. The tree is healthy and I am glad I purchased it.
They sent me the first tree that arrived dried out and dying after 5 days in transit. It died. I had bought the option of replacement if a tree failed and they sent me a new tree that arrived in the same condition and also died. I think that that trees should not be sent across the country during summer for 5 days with the expectation that they will survive. Unfortunately I trusted that since they were willing to do do this that it was feasible, but it proved to not be so. I recommend they adjust their shipping policy to take this into account.
Had 2 trees delivered almost dead. They did not last a week sent pictures and they said sent pictures when I already did.
I was so disappointed with am everything I purchased. None of my plants grew any buds and I did everything right. My whole garden was blooming except for the hydrangeas. Very upsetting.
Buy the warranty or insurance the plants die quick... be careful and do your research the plants arrived semi healthy
And some are not as big as they promised
The tree is not doing well. It has not produced fruit. It looks bad and is not growing fast. I am not happy with the tree.
I have ordered multiple plants. All arrived carefully packed and healthy. Easy to transfer and are all thriving.
Even with extended warranty didnt get a replacement for a tree that didn't survive. But the representative said I was in luck because they had sale and I could buy the tree again. Biggest slap in the face.
No Thank you not ever again.
It's been almost a year and the fig trees are doing well and bearing fruit. We've got a short season and only get a fall yield, but for small, growing tress, we had plenty of figs to enjoy. As much as I remember, the trees were packed efficiently and arrived ok.
Selection was good, checkout was easy, fast shipping. Prices were good for the height of the tree. Of the three trees I recieved, Only one was of the quality I expect. Other 2 had damaged branches, poorly formed, trunk was not single leader but had fork at low elevation, some bark damage on one of the trees. I expect 2 of the 3 trees to survive their first winter. You get what you pay for. Next time I will buy locally at a 50-75% premium but I can select a properly formed and healthy tree.
Most of the trees purchased from this site have died.
Have ordered many trees, always received in timely manner. Had some damaged in shipping were replaced without a problem.
Needed rose bushes, not that impressed, they were smaller than originally thought. Now they are bigger and growing.
The first few trees I got were amazing. Good roots in a pot. Very healthy trees. The next couple years they were ok, still much better then local store trees like home Depot, but we're banged up in shipping. They grew in just fine. Got fruit year 1/2 on the larger trees I bought.
This "tree" after 2 years of nurturing, even transplanting, and careful sheltering, is half its original height, languishing, into a barely alive stub. What a ripoff! Air-layering was not only a bad idea but completely unsuccessful. FastGrowing Trees.com is a total ripoff. Stay away from this flimflam company!
Has just about everything. Palms, indoor plants,
Outdoor trees, etc.
Pricing is good and packaging is superior
Answer: Cancel your order now before it's too late, go to a local nursery and save yourself some money and unwarranted aggravation, these folks are not honorable.
Answer: I ordered 3 autumn blaze maples. They have been in the ground for 2 years now and have yet to turn red in the fall. I did some research and found that they only turn red if the temperature conditions are right. I live in Idaho and we basically skipped fall this year and went straight into winter. So once again the leaves just turned brown. I am hoping to finally get a display next year.
Answer: The same thing is happening to me. My tree died and they keep saying they're going to make good and nothing happens. Real crooks, this company.
