Fanmi is the first company I found that makes what they call "Easy Smart Phones", which turned out to be just what I needed. These are a half-way between feature phones and smartphones, which run a simplified version of android that is just simple enough to make the phone easy to use. While also being robust enough to let my grandparents explore some interesting apps, and stay in touch with the modern world. And these also include an SOS button, which is always appreciated. Fanmi's website is also clear and easy to browse, which means I was able to send my grandmother a link by email so she could choose which phone she wanted.
