I purchased 3 tickets to Oppenheimer through Fandango and then remembered I had a doctor's appointment at that time. I went to the theater and got a refund instantly for their portion of the tickets. I was still out the Fandango "convenience fee" so I called their 800 number to get a refund. No dice. So then I called my credit card company and obtained an instant refund on the disputed convenience fee. I will never use Fandango again.
Bought tickets for jurassic world 3d. Accidentally purchased them for Friday and thought we purchased them for saturday. After waiting on the phone for over 20 mins, and speaking to an illiterate representative, this multi million dollar company can't even exchange our tickets. Not even looking for a refund, just want tickets. Asked to speak to a supervisor and got told what it looks like everyone was told... supervisor unavailable. But hey, supposedly a supervisor will email me. They won't let you wait to talk to one. And I guarantee they will just spew the same crap. I urge EVERYONE to not purchase your tickets through them. They will never receive another single penny from me.
If you are able to buy gift cards directly from a theater, do that instead. This is not high finance. Cut out this middleman. And folks it is an odd surprise for the gift recipient when he or she has to pay for the "gift." Or maybe it is a genius idea... I will start charging a $3 service fee per each gift under the Christmas tree...
Operator decides to tell me who waits a week to dispute a charge. A person who works and have a busy life. You saw I purchased tickets for the same movie at two different locations... the first location lost power... so immediately bought tickets to the nearest theater. You can't do the refund on the app once the movie time has surpassed... they suck and suck your money. They continue to treat customers this way they will go out of business.
Fandango is a rip off. Not only do they charge you for the tickets. But they give you a nice service fee. I called them well in advance of their 2 hour limit because I had a family emergency and they said they had to send it to corporate to get it approved for refund. I have never heard back nor have I received a refund. I will go directly to the theatre in advance to buy my tickets as fandango is a greedy entity that should go out of business. RIP OFFS. If only I could give it a negative rating
I went on the fandango website and purchased tickets for a certain date. However, my confirmation email had a different date than that which I had selected. I therefore proceeded to call customer service & was on hold for 20 until I hung up. This was the other day so I figured they were just busy so I called today and was on hold for 40 minutes and still did not get an answer. This is absurd, first you mess up my order then your customer service department is non-existent. Highly DO NOT recommend using fandango.
Fandango sucks. Their system indicated my transaction timed out so I started over then got confirmation of double purchase. Went to chat and they said I needed to open a VIP account to get a refund. Called customer abc and got same story. Opened an account and only got refund for ticket price. It was their system mistake and I should have received full refund. Would never use again. Worst customer service on internet.
Apparently the attached image purchase went through. But I didn't realize and bought the tickets in-person assuming it didn't go through like the error label infers. I tried to get a refund and had to go from waiting in the chat queue for over half an hour to having to submit a complaint in another part of the website to even find the status of the refund request. Multiple follow up emails and still had no response for a month. Eventually was able to talk to a person that seemed understanding and hand me submit the bank statements proving the purchase and then denied the refund with no explanation. Highly unprofessional and was a super frustrating and time consuming process to go through. Be wary
These guys will loot your money even when you don't opt for the service by charging convenience fee. I would not recommend anyone using this service, as Cinemark and AMC are giving full refund when you cancel the tickets. Customer service is horrible and they don't care about the members. Bogus company.
Uncompromising and impersonal. No room for human error on the customers end. Now out almost $100 after Fandango denied my request for a refund after trying to coordinate buying tickets with my friends. Called immediately after the accidental purchase and waited two weeks to be told I would be receiving "Exchange credit" and no refund. Will never use their service again.
We received Fandango gift cards but didn't realize their site now makes it impossible to use them. I can't believe some attorney general hasn't shut them down, but the one where we live is about to hear about this $#*!-clown operation.
Pressed the wrong button for a showtime that was 15 minutes in the future, and that I could not possibly make. My error, no doubt. Waited on chat hold for 90 minutes to be told nothing they could do. So essentially its a one way pipe to feed the company money and no provisions for a mistake or error. Stay away. This reeks of unethical practices.
They would not refund or try to make any type of accommodation when we could not make the show due to car problems. This, despite fact that we called them half hour before show started and explained the problem. We even asked if we could have a different show time, but they refused. It was like talking to robots. I cancelled the purchase through my bank
Fandango treats customers very poorly, and are very nasty people to talk with. In my case they said I had a credit card dispute with them and blocked my use of their website, including the use of pre-paid gift cards. It turns out that I never had made any purchases from Fandango at all, they just said my account would be re-activated, no reason, no apology.
Same experience as others below. Fandango claimed that AMC Van Ness 14 had reserved seating, so I was willing to pay the extra convenience fee. Fandango's process very cleverly says "At the end of your purchase process for a reserved seat on Fandango, you will be provided with a specific seat number on your confirmation page that will be waiting for you when you get to the theater". Which of course turned out to be a lie, and since it's the END of the purchase process you have already paid for the ticket. Talk about "this way to the egress". Never booking again through these hucksters.
We received fandango gift cards for Christmas. When we tried to purchase tickets on line over a period of a few days, error messages came up and the transaction could not be completed. After several attempts to resolve this issue with customer service, we have given up and will return the cards to the gift giver in the hope that she can get her money back. I give fandango a zero for service.
Don't purchase from here. What a sham. I made a mistake... tried to buy Star Wars tickets for Christmas Day. My error... didn't notice until too late... that they were for today. Of course, with my luck the movie had started and Fandango would not refund or switch the purchase to the day I had wanted. Why would I every waste $26 on a site like this!
HORRIBLE! I"M VERY AGITATED!
Fandango's return system for tickets is flawed. When you pay for a purchase with partial Fandango credit and partial your own payment method, if you return that order, it all goes to credit. I tried to call to get the money returned to my original payment method and the customer service people had no idea. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was left on hold forever. Hung up and now will stop using Fandango altogether. I'll even just eat the money I wasted that is now in Fandango credit - if it means I don't have to do business with this company.
The website is great. The customer service is terrible. I contacted them concerning a mistake made when ordering tickets, contacting them immediately, and because of the order being within the 2 hour window (because the date was entered in error) I was told there was nothing they could do. I did however receive a lecture about how I should TELL my wife how to check everything before clicking order. I found the support inadequate as well as insulting. I am referred to a policy that you have to drill into to find the thing they so prominently state (the 2 hour rule). How many people read the colored words in a policy? It is a shame that such a promising program can be ruined by crappy customer support.
I bought tickets on Fandango and received a response stating that the transaction had been cancelled. I purchased the tickets again but both transactions were charged. I called Fandango four times and spent hours on hold and when I finally spoke with a representative, I was told to set up an account for a refund. After no response, I sent another email. At that point, Fandango sent an email saying that sometimes there is nothing you can do. I am disappointed in their compete lack of customer service and their inability to take accountability for correcting their own error.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Fandangos customer service is not good so I wish you luck. Thank you for your service, hope this helps Rose
Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
