Store: Family Dollar
Store Number: #6679
Incident Time: 9:50 AM
Incident Date: 1/6/2024
Store location: 1208 Westover Hills Blvd, Richmond, Virginia *******
I entered the Family Dollar Store on Westover Hills Blvd in Richmond,VA.
My reasoning for coming to the store was to complete a financial cash transaction also to purchase some household goods.
I wanted to complete my financial transaction first. So I went to the first register. I was the only customer in line waiting. The cashier was sitting down sleeping behind the counter. I spoke to the cashier and told her I'm waiting for you're help.
Cashier didn't help me until waiting for 10 minutes. Cashier asked me what do you want.
I explained to her I've been waiting here for 10 minutes and I needed to make a financial transaction.
Cashier then replied, what for. I told her I need to put a balance on a gift card. The cashier then responded using profanity. She commented " I don't know why these mother $#*!ing people keep coming in here to do this. They can make these gift card transactions any were. I wish they take this $#*! out of here"
The cashier then asked a co-worker that was standing behind the counter ring up this man because I don't know how to do this.
The co-worker then proceeded to the register as the cashier walked away. The male co-worker said what do you want. I told him I needed to place a balance on this gift card.
The male co-worker started and completed the transaction, didn't give me a receipt and just walked off. I then retrieved a shopping cart and started my shopping. When I arrived at the register.
The same male co-worker was behind the counter and said to me I'll take you right here.
I then asked the employee was the store manager available.
The employee responded, "why do you want to speak with the store manager?
I told him that's a personal matter and is the store manager available?
The employee replied he is the manager. I then asked but are you the store manager?
The employee says I'm the assistant manager and we don't have a store manager. I then asked well can I have the contact information for you're district or regional manager. The employee replied "Our company no longer have a District/Regional manager"
I then asked for Family Dollar corporate office contact information. "The employee replied, no need of me giving you that. They won't answer your complaint he's been working there for 4 years and I'm telling you they won't answer you"
I responded to the employee and said I'm still requesting the corporate office contact information. The employee then said, $#*! you, I asked what you wanted.
The employee then said I don't have time for this $#*!. I then asked the employee are you going to ring up my items? The employee replied $#*! you white $#*! I refuse to ring you up and you can get the $#*! out my store. I asked again for the number to the corporate office.
The employee replied I'm not giving you $#*! get you're fat $#*! out of here before I jump across the counter and kill your fat $#*!. I then told the cashier, that's the last thing you want to do. I then said I'll find the information on my own and I will report you.
The employee then said I don't give a $#*! what you do fat $#*! now get out the store before I beat the $#*! out your $#*!.
I left the store and completed my shopping at another retailer.
When I arrived home I started to research on Family Dollar website the corporate office management information. I couldn't locate it. I contacted several family dollar stores in my area. Only one store that finally answered was at the family dollar Broad Rock Road location.
I asked the assistant store manager at the Broad Rock location to take my complaint. Mary Moon had given me the customer complaint corporate office number so I could file a complaint.
I made the verbal complaint with an employee at the number Mary provided. The complaint was made on Saturday January 6,2024.
The customer service agent instructed me to follow up with the email complaint which I'm writing now as she reports the matter to the district and regional managers responsible for this store employee.
I'm eagerly awaiting a response from corporate management to settle this matter asap

I was an assistant manager at the Big Timber MT store. When i applied on indeed for the position of cashier it advertised $17.00 per hour which i never seen. It was like pulling teeth and i was made to take the assistant manager bump just to get $12.50 was there for a year and an employee mentioned to our manager about how anyone on shift had access to a till signed in someone elses numbers. When the employee says to the boss "what if someine gets in brandons till. Then brandons till ends up short." And was told "thats on him." So i went higher up the chain to resolve the issue. Of everyone on shift (not only managers) being able to access my till. I had left for a short while for a job where i the bump was closer to the $17 i originally applied for. Less than 24 hours after my last day i heard this was said "I hope brandon plans on bringing his store keys back so we dont have to go the legal route to get it back." Less than 24 hrs. The district manager had said she kept my position for me. This was cool because i ended up going back. To that position with the same 12.50 pay. A lady in town had threatened my life and when she came into the store. I refused to serve her and told her to leave and come back when i wasnt working. Then I went to the back room to get more product to shelve. The lady came back into the store entering the employee only area asked why. I said you know why. She gave me the finger and mouthed "$#*! you to me." Being quiet and subtle so the phone she had started recording me on didnt catch her voice. Although the camera would have caught her giving me the finger. I proudly said out loud to make sure this lady heard me say "$#*! you too" so after this the lady gets ahold of corporate sent the recording of me saying "$#*! you too." Along with a text sent to the lady's daughter. In the text i had said they knew why i told her (did not ask her) To leave. Which i would happily and proudly do again and again. With my finger held in her direction. My manager did have my back knowing the things i had been going through but was told that i had to serve them if they came in. Unless i got a restraining order. This lady had tried getting my schedule from another employee. So she could come in when i was on shift. Well she did come in again. And i made sure to serve anyone who was in line ahead of her. Then i walked out and DID NOT serve her. I had gotten ahold of another ASM and they came down and finished my shift. I was told the lady was gone before they made it to the store. Didnt come back. Because she was specifically coming in when I was there. The fact that i had my life threatened. Or how i said she could come back when i wasnt on shift was never mentioned in any way. And i was terminated for walking out. Which okay i walked out. Heres why i decided to post this. I heard the main store managers across the state were going to be made to clock in to record the time when they were in store working (48 hours a week REQUIRED for the managers.) And my manager walked out. The manager is working there still. Even though they walked out. I am pointing out facts. Not hating on the boss i had. The corporate chicken lollipops above my boss and above her boss made the final decisions. To have me terminated for refusing to serve someone who threatened my life. Because of walking out they just have double standards. And care about 1 person giving them $20 then the well being of an employee. (If i am wrong than my boss would have been fired for walking out as well)
On January 29th I was in the family Dollar in Marietta South Carolina I was trying to add money to my cash app and wasn't really quite sure on how doing that because I've never done it before so I had asked the cashier at the time if she knew how to do it of course she said no and then I asked the manager if she could help me and she said she didn't know how to do it either my phone died so I'm hooked up to the charger near the wall near the door and I accidentally had left my wallet on the counter well my old man was standing outside with my dog and cuz I had had to walk up there and so he was getting impatient and I was getting impatient trying to figure out how to do it and so I ended up getting mad and leaving and about 30 minutes after I got to the house I noticed that I had left my wallet on the counter well I send my old man back up there to get my wallet and of course they had put it in the safe well when he got back home with it I noticed someone had stole $100 out of my wallet so I have called corporate office numerous times trying to get a call back they won't even call me back cuz I was going to get somebody to look at the cameras cuz somebody took my money out of my wallet well this was about 2:30 in the afternoon when this happened the the manager that was there at the moment she was gone when my man got there to get my wallet it just looks awful suspicious because I called back up there and and and told him what happened I've never got to turn phone call even from them more or less for management is crazy somebody stole dollars out of my wallet it looks awful suspicious to the manager and my eyes but you know I can't even get a call back like I said I wouldn't go in the store if it was the last place on Earth I wouldn't spend another dollar in that store ever again
A few individuals were waiting outside the family dollar store at 195 mclean avenue in yonkers, ny. The website states that it will open at 8am. Many parents just dropped off their children at 815am at the school across the street from ths family dollar store. There were staff inside the family dollar store near the register but not one acknowledging the individuals waiting outside. Take note that there are various glass windows and yiu can see that there are people waiting outside. A gentleman waiting outside knocked in the window only to ask if they will be open today. One of the staff members literally screamed at him through the glass. He backed away into his car saying sorry. Earlier, he told the rest of us that he simply wanted to purchase pet food for his dog. I stayed near the door hoping to make eye contact with the store manager which I did. But not before getting a mean look from the screamer lady. I have spoken to the manager before and he was kind. However, he is meek and literally stood there as the screamer lady screamed at a potential customer this morning. Anyway, he came to the door and opened it. I asked him that I simply wanted to know if this location was going to be open at all today OR if it will stay closed for today. He told me that as of 8am that morning, they were having an "event" and were not going to open probably until after 12noon. By this time, almost all the individuals have walked away, it was almost 9am and it is freezing outside. To have waited almost an hour outside, our hands were literally numb. He was ever so kind. I did suggest that a sign, big and legible, should be put on the doorways, as there are two doorways. Also that the screamer be put in the back to do some work as she clearly can not work with people. This location gets ZERO stars for customer service. I came in for halloween as well with some kids to ask for candies with their candy bags. An employee said very rudely, "We dont do that here!". I stepped up to her and informed her that she didnt have to be so rude about it and could have simply told the kids that but in a nicer way. I onky come in to this location for whatever I REALLY need and leave out as soon as I can. I rarely, rarely go there. It is awful due to the customer service of the employees.
Storage bins when I do purchase from there
