I ordered from here over a year ago. I bought some basic black leggings as part as the first order deal which was £24. It gives you the chance to sign up to VIP memebership so you can get discounts with a fee. However you get the opportunity to skip a month so they don't take the fee away, however if you forget to skip a month they will take the fee. But the clothes I got are of great quality, they still look brand new. I recommend this company!
This membership concept is an absolute scam. Bought two pairs for Christmas for my wife. Since then they are charging a monthly membership for Nothing. Unbelievably misleading tactics. Ombudsman should be on their case.
I ordered two leggings from Fabletics and they arrived last month. They were of great quality. This morning when I checked my bank account, I had been charged an extra 49 quid for a 'VIP Membership' fee which I have had no memory of signing up to. Turns out "When you chose to take advantage of the discounted price upon checking out your first order, you were activating the VIP membership of your account." This is absolutely ridiculous. I did not get that £49 back and I'm SO upset about this.
Easy to order and prompt dispatch. The VIP conditions re payment and debiting your account are made very clear. Paid for express delivery but the item got no further than the courier. Customer service (in the Philippines) on the 2 occasions I used them, was polite and all had good English. After a week from my first call - having been promised I would hear back in 48 hours - I phoned again to be told the item was now out of stock - I cancelled my order and withdrew from the VIP scheme. I will NOT use this company again.
I saw fabletics advertised on FB and liked the look of the clothes and so ordered two pairs of discount leggings. When they arrived I was really pleased with the quality but then realised that I'd been signed up to the VIP club which I hadn't realised I'd actually agreed to! Ok so I read the T&C about having to skip a month before the 5th day of that particular month or get billed for £44.00! And thought this won't work for me... I have a hectic lifestyle and am not always up to date with my emails. I kept it for another month and ordered two tops, again brilliant quality, what I don't understand is the harsh agreement policy of taking large amounts of cash from your account unless you have time on your hands to cancel it each month in the small window of opportunity... I have therefore today cancelled my VIP membership now I own a couple of outfits, as let's face it, how many work out clothes do you actually need? I feel the company has made a real mistake in doing this as I would have remained a customer and carried on using their site as and when I needed to... I hate feeling tied down to any agreement and hate to feel like I'm being ripped off... a shame as the products themselves are without a doubt exceptional quality... I shall be looking elsewhere however in the future for further purchases... what a shame...
The outfits themselves are great- I ordered 2 outfits and both were good quality and were delivered quickly.
However, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT GET VIP. I was very unhappy to find out that the VIP option automatically takes £44 from your bank account especially as I didn't realise that I had signed up for the VIP option- it automatically pops up for you to fill out your information when you make a purchase.
When I saw the money had been taken from my bank account I called (on a paid number) asking to cancel this, but was informed that I could only cancel my membership but then couldn't use the £44 until I re-instated the membership. I also was told I was not able to get a refund as it is in the terms on conditions that money will be taken automatically, however this is NOT CLEAR.
I will certainly not be using this company again due the lack of communication and lack of refund. It is such a shame because the sportswear itself is great and if it wasn't for this issue with money been taken automatically I would have bought further items.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT GET VIP!
I joined Fabletics soon after it started up in the UK. And I was actually aware of having to opt-out of the £44 monthly charge. So I set a reminder on my phone every 1st of the month to remember to skip. Then I changed phones, forgot to set the reminder in the new phone - BUT- also for the first time this April I did not get an email from Fabletics on the 1st showing My Outfits and containing the link to skip the month. It only occurred to me on the 6th that this deadline had passed. Had I got an email from them prompting me I would have definitely skipped. This month was expensive for me with car tax, birthdays etc. and I really needed that £44. I emailed the company twice explaining that they hadn't sent a reminder email to me and that I would like my money refunded, but both times to no avail. Their explanation to me was not dissimilar to them saying that my money had gone into some sort of wormhole and was now irretrievable. Big Question: When is your own money NOT really your own money? Answer: When Fabletics turns it into MEMBER CREDITS. You ain't never getting it back! At this point I know I'm going to quit my membership because this has made me so angry. So as a rather joyless exercise I had to order an outfit that I sort of like, is okay, but most importantly is bang-on priced at £44 so that I know I can make a clean exit and not have to pay them another penny. In my eyes, any reputable company that was made aware that one of its customers was unhappy would not be happy themselves until they made the situation right -- for the CUSTOMER! Instead, alll they could do was "stick to the script", i. E. 'We sent the email". But you didn't. It was nowhere in any of my email folders. I didn't receive it. That is the key point. Well now they have lost this customer because I've found out that no, I'm not really a VIP -- I'm here to pay money that I didn't want to pay for something that I didn't even want or need, because they need the money more! My advice? Make yourself your OWN VIP -- stay away from this company and keep control of YOUR OWN money. Go onto ebay, Amazon, wherever you like elsewhere online for cute outfits - they're out there and at some pretty great prices too. Also Sweaty Betty - they've got a brilliant returns policy. I have taken the extra step of cancelling my 'future payments' to Fabletics on my paypal account -- a necessary step, I fear as I still don't trust Fabletics to leave well enough alone and honour my cancellation without some unforeseen hitch popping up -- weighted in their favour of course. Whew! I feel much lighter now. Think I'll go work out!
