“Horrible and they are scammers”

Please Do Not Enroll This school is horrible I lost my March of this year and I contacted the school March 12 to inform them that I am unable to continue the course. They said they would have work with me but here it is June, I have not landed anything and told them cannot continue. Well I am being threatened that they will send me to collection. I don't recommend the school. Also they are going to charge me 835 cancellation fee. Go somewhere else because they are scammers.

1. Their promotion/hard sell is at best dishonest and at worst unscrupulous!
2. They do not inform you that you will NOT get a refund if you change your mind or need to withdraw FOR ANY REASON.
3. In my opinion, Rosen representatives are unprincipled and ruthless.
4. Between Nov 27,2023 and Jan 11,2024 Rosen withdrew over $1000 CDN from my Visa. In that time period there were two 1 hour lessons, followed by a two week Christmas break. They refused to reimburse me even a portion of the fees they claimed when I had to withdraw.

Tip for consumers:
They use a very hard sell and are unprincipled. There are no refunds once you've committed.

Tip for consumers:
THEIR BUSINESS POLICIES AND SERVICE ARE TERRIBLE! 1. They will use high pressure techniques and not take NO for an answer. 2. You only have about 2 days to get a full refund. After than cancellation fees are 50-100% of the enrollment cost - that is about $600-1200 USD 3. They will charge you to change your start date if you attempt to do so more than once no matter what is said by the salesperson

Needed to cancel before classes started because I would have limited availability. This school has made every second of this process an absolute *nightmare.*

They called my phone about 5-8 times a day, leaving no message identifying who was calling. I have had to block the number.

They refuse to take multiple emails as cancellation confirmation, still harass me regularly and have essentially stolen money from me.

This has been the most regrettable education decision I have ever made, I would recommend literally anywhere else.

Tip for consumers:
Make sure you can predict you will somehow have no future issues that require customer service- it’s so bad, it’s almost absurd

For a year I was quite satisfied with eteacher. Recent events have shown eteacher as money grabbers. They took money from my credit card for courses that did not start for 30-36 weeks and then wanted money for ongoing classes. It is like paying for groceries and the teller telling you when you pick up your groceries to go home. "Hey you need to pay for those. What you payed me for were for future groceries." A money grabbing scam if ever I saw one. The three purchases were unknown to me until I started to enquire why my balence was so low. I suggest people who have had simular experience as I have to complain to the Israeli Consumer Council and Hebrew University Jerusalem. Let us take action through Israeli grounded institutions that they will have a harder time to ignore.

I regret ever having come across this company and warn everyone to avoid them at all costs. They are basically a spam company and are not committed to teaching but rather to extracting money from people with unfair terms. You cannot cancel and receive a fair refund, even if you don't take the course. You cannot directly contact them--they can only contact you and treat you unprofessionally and bully you into paying them for services they have not rendered. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM, EVER. STAY AWAY.

I didn't like the course and I asked to cancel it. Then they discounted $270 USD ($396 AUD) without advising me about that fee.

Now I call to receive an explanation and they don't answer the phone.

Terrible service, this is really a theft.

I have a such love for the people of Israel. Since I was a little kid I always wanted to visit Israel and learn their language. 8 years ago I became a member of Orr Shalom an Organization for Children and Youth at Risk. A=And for that reason I have been wanting to learn Hebrew so bad so I can communicate with them when I visit them.
In march 7 2022 a sale representative of Rosen School contacted me and offer their course. Everything was so fast and weird I asked the representative to explain more she said as soon as you make first payment someone will get in contact with you she didn't said how they will contact me. On march 9 2022 I requested the course to be cancel due to medical reasons. I called their number on their website several times without success I wrote several emails, I texted them on what's app they keep saying someone will contacted in 48 hours they did but days later
About 3 days ago and today I have been argument with this guy from Finance He has disrespected me in all the way possible. I requested to be given a chance to speak with a manager or supervisor he said " you are not allow to speak with no body here but me" I am still in shock, I could hear in the back ground they were laughing. I never started the course. He has been harassing me over emails. I have already reported to the bank as fraud and also reported to the Canadians authorities.

My heart is bleeding I am so devasted by this experience, I am going through some serious injuries and dealing with this Rosen School representatives is taken my life from me.
I need help if someone knows how can I get my refund back and make this people stop harassing please reply here.

I signed up to take the basic Hebrew course. The instructor does not wear a headset with microphone so she is incredibly difficult to hear and understand. The course did not start with a basic review of the block Hebrew letters, jumping right into cursive. One of the students asked (correctly) why we don't learn the block letters first; there no coherent answer why. Stay away from these folks.

Worst class I've ever taken. I was insanely disappointed and they refused to give me any money back. Was 3000+ sheckels and I didn't learn a thing even in the hardest level class. I spent 75% of each lesson listening to low level students trying to get through their sentences, and reading religious texts. I am still so angry and want my money back, but I know I will never get it.

Kind of comforted to see many got cheated by the theft-like school, as many have experienced, they really just focus on getting money from you. They sell you program without telling you time limit, and insane cancellation strategy (purposely), that is cheating. When I figured out several months later, they charged 741 euros on my credit card directly for cancellation. So I almost ended up paying over 2200 euros and not able to finish half of Hebrew A course. I fired a dispute through the bank, after long week of fighting with (extreme) terrible customer service, (that never it's reachable directly to the responsible people), eventually they refunded me partially, and reopened Hebrew A. But it was such a painful experience and a loss of much money, in total I spent 1874, 7 euros to be able to learn just Hebrew A course. Really insane experience.

Advice: don't be kind to their sales persons, those who are called academic advisors, they are robbers! Be really careful about your investment with this school.

Whatever is written on their website is a lie! Then when you speak to them, they give you completely different information, saying it must have been a mistake on the website.
Just one example: it says each level of Modern Hebrew course gives you 2 academic credits from the Hebrew University, for 98$ a month, 2 hr per week. None of it is true! First of all, it's only 1 hr per week, not 2. Secondly, most courses don't give you any credits and thirdly, if they "find" a class that suppose to give you these university credits, they want you to pay another $400.
When i told the sales person about all these lies, he said doesn't know what to say!
I'm going to contact the Hebrew University to make sure they will be no longer involved with this scam.

I would do zero stars if I could. I paid $1600 in tuition over a period of 3 months waiting for a teacher to contact me about classes. I was never assigned a teacher, and after a few more weeks of calling I finally got ahold of them to request a refund. They denied my refund request, and after multiple calls they supposedly approved a $1200 refund and said it would arrive after 3 weeks. When it didn't arrive, I called back multiple times and they won't answer my calls.

I signed up for 2 courses and was placed in the wrong level. I realized this after a week (but well before the courses started) and asked to switch to the correct level and receive the coursebooks for that level instead. I was assured that wouldn't be a problem. Well, six weeks later I still don't have the textbook for the course, I've had to fight with them basically every day about it, and they won't give me a full refund because it's been too long since I signed up. I'm so emotionally and mentally exhausted from fighting with them over this stupid textbook for SIX WEEKS and all I want is a full refund and to be done with this but they're holding hundreds of dollars of my money hostage because the course started two weeks ago. Meanwhile the reason it's so long into the course and I'm only now canceling is BECAUSE THEY WON'T SEND ME THE TEXTBOOK. I could scream. I will never ever use Rosen Hebrew School again and if you value your sanity I recommend you don't either. Every instance of asking for help with customer service was so frustrating and upsetting. Do yourself a favor and avoid this school at all costs. This was by FAR the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I used to live in Israel so I'm used to Israeli customer service. This is another level of terrible.

First, being enrolled in this course since early August, what has been done at classes was reviewing some alphabet letters, some syllables and words of not primary importance. From class to class the information, which I acquired by my own in two days using open-source materials, is uselessly repeated, namely we are asked to match print and cursuve (I don't understand what for as recognizing letters just come with practice); another task is writing letters on the screen that takes so much time and can be done individually without guidance that is practically not provided; and the last type of exercise is where we have to find a given letter in the words provided the same pictures (banana, heart, bear, avocado, hot air balloon, canoe and some more words that are not used in basic communication).
Second, discussing technical issues + repeating the same rules in English + considering the amount of students (~12) the 55 minutes literally turn into 5 mins for one to perform; however, I should mention that generally the speaking time means no more than 3 short sentences per class, otherwise this 'output part' is skipped at all.
Third, I still (!) haven't managed to access my open classes in spite of multiple-time discussions with stuff. Thus my classes per week are limited to one.
To conclude my essay, the price is absolutely unjustified, and the approach is outdated. 2 months - 0 results. Duo lingo helps better!
The only thing that could help to improve is immersion into the language and, most importantly, enthusiasm of teachers who not only follow a book, which is boring and can be done by one's own ( this is the case), but flexibly prepare lessons to achieve a progress

After having the most hideous experience with this company 10 years ago where they managed to get out a few hundred dollars from my card but actually tried more but my card was already maxed out, I see they are still going strong and up to their old tricks. A formula that has worked well for them. One of the ways they scam you is by sending you out samples but when you sign for them, then they can say to the bank that this was a purchase and hence the charge.
Today I received an email from another company in Israel trying to sell stuff and I wonder if they sold my email address too.

They will follow you with offers ( some of that offers fake) and they will be decent till they get your credit card details, after that no reply, they take money from your bank account without your permission, they will say they will call you and they will never do that, they will ignore any messages from you to help, they do not respect their policy, no notifications if they cancel classes, and never give you money if they take it, they will send you Email to threaten you to give them money of classes that you do not take
Escape and block them

So after paying them around 2500 CAD, all I got was a link for an etextbook that doesn't work, and the person that I had talked on the phone and that had emailed me suddenly disappears. After 6 days of trying to reach them, I finally get the response that they have a "technical issue" and that they can't contact me as a result! I request a refund (their "contract" says that you are entitled to a full refund within 7 days of registering), but they respond by telling me that they can't contact me because they have a "technical issue". They tell me to email them later the following week for a refund request (in other words, when it would be too late for a full refund). And after telling them this is unacceptable, they block me so that I can't email them anymore.

So the only thing I got for all this money was some guy contacting me to tell me he can't contact me because of technical issues. Also, I was emailing and talking to these guys when it was around midnight on Saturday in Israel, so they're obviously not a legitimate business (who works midnights or responds to emails at 4 am on the weekend?).

Have filed a fraud claim against them. Definitely stay away and report them. I only wish I had thought of looking at the reviews here beforehand.

Stay away from this "school".
1. Ask for their cancelation policy before you give them your payment information! I tried to cancel the class and they stopped answering your calls, but will answer when you call from a number not linked to their system. The representatives refuse to provide you anything in writing stating they will not continue to charge your account. And become verbally aggressive if you ask more questions.

2. The teacher did not focus on the students' understanding or learning the material, she just wanted to get the class overwith. As she said 'it is 4am in Israel'. As if the class scheduling was the students fault.

3. They don't honor your schedule. I selected a class on their calendar according to my schedule and they changed it on the day of class without proper notification.

Needless to say, the experience was negative in every aspect.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION THAT ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY. THEY COULD CARE LESS IF YOU LEARN ANYTHING OR NOT.

Here's the summary if you don't want to read all the drama:
They took my money without permission, I didnt benefit from the classes, please AVOID this "school" if you can help it! Its in your best interest NOT to risk it!

I pay the enrollment fee, $150, have to wait a month to actually START the classes, after the first class, I realize that this isn't for me, the level is WAY too low to be a Level 4 (classmates not even knowing how to read basic hebrew), the teaching style is very rigid and technical.

I call to cancel, but they persuade and push for me to just try a higher level. Another fee for this: $50 to hold my spot or smthing like that. I wait another MONTH to start classes of a higher level, I try out the first class, get charged my first installment of payment $116.50, I still don't like it, I call them to get a full refund, because I'm not enjoying the classes.

They refuse to give me a refund, I fight for my refund but they simply refuse saying their policy only provides a full refund if you cancel by the first class to which I tell them that I DID TRY TO CANCEL after the FIRST class and that the customer service person pushed me to try a higher level, NOT telling me I wouldn't get a refund if I tried that class and didn't want to continue!
They simply refuse to refund me.

The day after the phone call I get a bank notification that $582.50 has been charged to my account from the Rosen School. AFTER ASKING FOR A REFUND, they CHARGED ME THE REST OF THE "TUITION" COST, A TOTAL OF $582.50! I immediately call them as soon as I found out and tell them that I did not authorize any such transaction (I agreed to pay in installments over the 7 months of class).

They REFUSE to return the money, and discontinue all contact. At this point it had been around three months of back and forth and fighting to get my money back and trying to get a quality learning experience, so I gave up.

In total (I referenced my bank statements)
I was charged:
$150
$50
$116.50
$582.50

A GRAND TOTAL OF $899 for approximately 2 CLASSES

The classes themselves are taught through a skype/zoom/facetime style of call, the teacher in the corner reviews slides of information, teaching grammar rules, and very technical aspects of hebrew.
This type of learning is really structural and not intuitive at all. It's hard as it is with the only setting but the information is not easy to absorb in any case.

Additionally, if you hold a day job (like I do) you'll likely be taking this class in the evening, which means your teacher, in Israel will likely be 7/8/9 hours ahead of you ie: teaching in the middle of the night for him/her. SO, the teacher will likely be half-asleep at best (as was my experience).

I did try to attend two more classes after this whole thing, because they had already charged me anyway so I might as well see if I can gain anything BUT ALAS the classes were so BAD and SLOW and TECHNICAL that it was impossible to focus and really learn.

JUST AVOID, ITS REALLY *******NOT***** WORTH IT!

I joined Eteacher/Rosen School of Hebrew with high hopes. Was told they had 24 hour customer service and recorded lessons in case you miss a weekly lesson. I missed a lesson and soon found out that is not the case. I use a Mac and the customer service rep said she was unable to help with mac. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no.
Someone called and sent lessons via email and told me this would not happen again... guess what it did.
I again could not download lesson, rep was unable to help, asked to speak with a supervisor and again told no. I have spend 1000's of dollars and they only care about the money. Shame as i had high hopes. I would not recommend anyone pay this company.
They will respond saying this is not acceptable we will call you to fix it. All talk!
