Edit: I ordered a dress earlier this year and it did not fit at all. I returned the dress and they received it but refused to issue a refund. Now I'm going back and forth with them on the bbb website and they are claiming that they issued a refund but they still have my money. Just don't buy from them. The quality has gone downhill.

My daughter has used eShakti many times - she is short and plump, so finding clothing to fit her is almost impossible! She has had such great luck with them, I thought I would try MY hand at it. I ordered a pant outfit, customized to my specifications. After a few emails back and forth, confirming my measurements, they proceeded. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. The package arrived ahead of schedule and I eagerly put the pants on. They fit to a T! Just the way I like them! The construction is good, the colors on the top are fabulous, and I can't wait to make another purchase from them!

I have ordered 7 dresses from eshakti, and 5 are perfect! I have a really difficult time finding clothes that fit my dimensions, but my eshakti clothes make me feel comfortable and beautiful just the way I am. I'm not sure I really believed the fit of clothes can inspire confidence, but they really do!

There has been the slightest bit of trial and error:

1. My first order ever taught me which neckline and hem line I should be choosing (a hemline "at the knee" instead of "above the knee", and a neckline that isn't too wide).

2. I have learned some fabrics are going to work better than others, especially for my dimensions and hemline. I sent a dress back (and got a refund) because the fabric simply didn't hang right as a short dress, but it may have been perfectly fine as a maxi.

Overall, I have been impressed by the quality of the sewing and the quality of fabric. The thickness of the jersey fabric is really nice (I have 4 jersey dresses and 1 dupioni silk dress).

I strongly encourage customers to make sure you make use of the custom fit options (even if you fit well into standard sizes), and make sure your measurements are accurate. Now that my measurements have been entered and saved to my profile, ordering a dress is quick and easy.

I've been shopping with eShakti for over 2 years and have never been disappointed. The clothes are beautiful and extremely well-made. I love being able to customize my choices! And being a plus-sized person, I appreciate being able to enter my measurements in order to get a perfect fit. I have had to return a couple items, and have never had any problems with the process - in fact, it was much easier than trying to return clothing items I've ordered through Amazon. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering all the ways you can customize and the workmanship evident in every piece. Whenever I wear something from eShakti, I get nothing but compliments! I even got married in an eShakti dress!

This was the first time I had purchased clothing from eShakti.com and will be shopping again. I paid the little bit extra to customize my dress with my measurements, what a great feature to have! I was also able to change the length and sleeves. The customer service was great, they are fast to respond and everything went smoothly. My dress is very nice and I have received compliments. I am honestly at a loss about the bad reviews on here. I have been ordering dresses from eShakti for years now (I actually won a blog contest forever ago that gave me a gift card for eShakti and have been hooked ever since). I'm attaching a photo of me in an eShakti dress from February 2013 and another from April that same year-- and that was about a year after I started getting them! In all that time, I have never had a problem. I have even had issues which required me to deal with customer service, and they were always friendly and prompt. I get countless compliments whenever I wear one of my eShakti dresses, and absolutely adore them!
I will off this advise if you are thinking of ordering: not every silhouette looks good on every person, go with what you know looks good on you, not what you think looks good on the model. The measurements of their standard sizes are provided, do not assume that your "normal" size matches those measurements. And if you are going to customize, have a friend measure you more than once-- numbers fluctuate based on what you've eaten, what bra you are wearing etc. If you are going to pay to have it customized, as reasonable as eShakti's prices are, it is worth taking the measurements a couple of times to be sure you are going to get a good fit.

LOVE POCKETS! I love wearing dresses, but I hate wearing sleeveless or having to wear a cardigan over a pretty dress. The dresses I seem to love the most seem to always be sleeveless, and now when I shop on eShakti and see a sleeveless dress I like, I know I can get it with sleeves. Now, I come to this site first when I'm shopping for dresses. It is important to know your size. I have ordered a least a dozen dresses and only sent one back because I didn't like the way it looked on me, not eShakti's fault. I chose store credit and got a different dress I loved.

Having a larger top, it's ridiculously hard to find any clothing that fits me, much less that looks good. Eshakti has completely changed my wardrobe, their dresses are so cute and I get so many compliments. Not only that they all have POCKETS! Even the few issues I've had have been resolved, they have sent me a fabric sample so I could have the sleeves on one adjusted (I recommend making your arms a bit large to be sure to have easy movement) I recommend the cotton poplin fabric, and would advise against buying the duponi as it's a bit too synthetic and strangely shiny. You can ask to have zippers removed.
