I was fortunately prevented from becoming a victim of this company myself, but I sure came close! Too close. It's evident by now that eShakti has completely ceased all operations except for its website which still appears to be actively selling goods and accepting money. An interesting blog post (Wardrobe Oxygen) included a statement from a former employee who reported the CEO owes millions to vendors and is "in hiding" after locking all employees out for good sometime in the last 1-2 years. The anonymous former employee also said s/he was pretty sure the website was still accepting money for orders, but the money just goes to the (apparently desperate) CEO BG Krishnan. It is unconscionable that the site is still active and offering goods for sale that will NEVER be shipped to consumers. I took a look at what victims of this scam can do given that the company was based in India. The following is an example of a formal complaint message and the agencies to which you can send it. If you've been scammed, please do your part to FLOOD the Indian consumer agencies and other entities shown below with complaints so they can get that fraudulent website SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD (and I'm sorry about the lack of formatting - this site didn't allow for it - just read carefully and you'll figure it out): Subject: Ongoing Fraud by eShakti.com — Indian Company Operating Fake Retail Website Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to report ongoing fraudulent activity by the Indian company eShakti.com Pvt. Ltd., which continues to operate an online retail website despite allegedly ceasing all legitimate business operations. The website (www.eshakti.com) remains active, continues to accept international payments, and gives the appearance of being fully operational, but does not ship merchandise or issue refunds to customers. Details:
Company Name: eShakti.com Pvt. Ltd. Website: https://www.eshakti.com Reported CEO: B. G. Krishnan CIN: U*******TN2000PTC******* (Tamil Nadu, India) Nature of Fraud: Orders placed and paid for are not delivered. Customer service is unresponsive or non-existent. Refunds are not issued despite promises. Thousands of complaints have been made online in 2023, 2024, and 2025. This appears to be an ongoing scam targeting consumers, primarily in the United States and other countries, by continuing to accept payments for goods that will never arrive. Online platforms such as Trustpilot, BBB, and consumer blogs have documented numerous recent complaints from victims who have lost money. According to public blog reports (e.g., Wardrobe Oxygen, 2024), the CEO is allegedly in hiding and owes vendors millions of dollars. There are allegations that the company shut down its operations and factories but has kept the website live for the purpose of collecting funds fraudulently. Requested Action:
Investigate the continued operation of eShakti.com. Take enforcement action if the company is found to be committing fraud. Shut down or block the website from continuing to collect payments under false pretenses. Notify hosting providers (Shopify, GoDaddy) of misuse of their platforms. If you need further information or evidence of my transaction, I am happy to provide it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. This fraudulent activity is hurting international consumers and damaging trust in Indian commerce and e-commerce transparency. Sincerely,

GoDaddy Abuse: https://supportcenter.godaddy.com/AbuseReport NOTE: It's been brought to my attention that this site blocked the public email addresses of two of the agencies above. Moderators, when you review this please consider making an exception to your policy on this so that the multitude of customers who've been hurt by this scam can have some recourse. Please allow the full contact information for India's National Consumer Helpline and Cybercrime agency to be shown here. They were in my original submission. (And if you can reformat any of this so people don't have such a hard time reading it, that'd be great. I'm really heartbroken at all the terrible stories I'm seeing from the thousands of eShakti victims and I just want to do something to help.)
The site needs to be shut down. It's 100% fraud at this point. It's a shame because it used to be a legitimate, well-regarded company with a great concept. That is, until 2023 when everything fell apart.
I nearly bought two custom outfits for my daughter's graduation and would have spent about $175. Thankfully I found reviews of this company - hundreds of them, all consistent - before I hit the order button.
