I found this website to be full of great info for the hobbyist, amateur, beginner and professional photographer. It has reviews on equipment, a forum just to chat, a critique area where you can download your images, contests... the list goes on and on and on... I am glad I chose to review it through SiteJabber as I became a member of the site myself. A must for ANY photographer!

“Don't be too controversial when using e-PHOTOzine off topic comments.”

EPHOTOzine is o.k. For uploading photos but beware of the off-topic comments columns. The off-topic comments columns tend to be rather cliquey and vapid. I contributed plenty of photos and lots of off-topic comments to ePhoto since about 2004 but in 2022, the moderation team saw fit to ban me for being too political or a conspiracy theorist. Ironically, I'm actually very apolitical these days and the more I tried to see both sides of an argument, the more I found the moderators became determined to get rid of me. In other words, they see seemed to be the ones with most biased black and white views. Finally, I was actually banned for opining that I had fears that Central Bank Digital Currency could be a dangerous way of controlling how we spend our money in our bank accounts. I was accused of being a conspiracy theorist or the like and yet I was simply repeating something that I'd agreed with in the Daily Telegraph - hardly an extremist publication!

This is simply spiteful because you were banned for contravening site rules. You’ve since tried to rejoin the site on numerous occasions, so we can’t be all that bad!

Never neglet your E2 membership, or you'll lose it. - At first when I came upon this photography site, I loved it. It had all the bells and whistles, large uploads, professional advice, and most interesting to me was the diversity of the members. It is a UK based website with members from all over the world. I began to lose the love for ephotozine when after 16 uploads, you could only upload 1 per day. If you missed, they did not accumulate. Also they only listed the membership fee in GBP (great brittan pound) so if you couldn't find a way to convert the amount to USD, you had no way of knowing that for a measly one upload a day, you were to pay a one time membership fee of $49.00 give or take a cent or two. This is supposed to lock your membership with this site for an entire year... that is as long as you don't go on extented holiday. You have to make an appearence frequently, or like myself, only have your memories of what was. Which means, they still have my profile pic, and all my albums/pics. People still comment and rate these, I just can't interact with the comments, or forums unless I want to enroll again. So, you can tell I am not planning on making that mistake again.

A word of caution, the entire site is fair too confusing, and completely UN-User friendly. Don't buy in, just do whatever freebie memberships they periodically offer, and observe from the outside. Learn from my mistake, and the 50 bucks I through out the window and flew over the big blue ocean to land in the United Kingdom.

Hope this review helps in some form or fashion.

Happing picture taking.

Hi, the site has always been free to use, and once the e2 membership (now called Plus membership) ends, you can continue to use the site free of charge, and continue to interact, upload photos, etc. The site has been redesigned, and is now much easier to use.
