I-140 is a tricky step and hiring an attorney is must almost for everybody. EP did my I-140 case in a crafting way and made a very strong case. For I-485 looks like they occasionally miss some minor things however corrected it after I questioned them. May be I-485 is not a difficult step after I-140 get approved, that's why they do this part relatively less seriously manner.

My husband and I had a great experience going through the marriage based green card process with Lisa and Brenda. They were very professional and super knowledgeable, and answered questions promptly. Lisa checked in with us repeatedly during the waiting process of make sure everything was on track and prepared us well for the interviews. We were on the fence about hiring a lawyer but are very glad we did. The peace of mind is worth the cost.

I got information about this firm from an online forum. When I talked to the lawyer, he convinced me they are the best option for my case and was very confident my case could be approved without any letters of recommendations. Things started okay. The case manager was polite and nice although I was disappointed it was not the lawyer that handled my case. But after a couple of months, they were still collecting information from me. Finally, I got upset and demanded them to file my case as soon as possible. I feel the case preparation took too long. It didn't make me feel the process was really "expedite" in any way.

I have a very good experience with Ellis Porter services. The attorney is very professional and helpful! After the case approved and I didn't use their services but I need to pay the IV fee and I cannot do the fee payment because I lived outside the U.S., they assisted me with this process without service charge! Thank you so much Ellis Porter!

Ellis Porter Immigration attorneys (with particular attention to Kristi Crawford) have been fantastic! Their diligence, attention to detail, and organization allowed me to successfully apply and obtain a J-1 waiver. I highly recommend their services for all immigration needs. I would seek their services again without hesitation if needed in the future!

I don't recommend Ellis Porter to anyone who wishes to work with an efficient attorney. They are very very slow. There is no timeline in their contract, so they take as much time as they want when writing the recommendation letters and the legal brief. I waited more than a month to receive the recommendation letter drafts after I have provided all the required information to them. There were also serious delays when they assembled my package. I regret choosing them to file my NIW and suggest everyone to stay away from this law firm unless you like to work with slow lazy lawyers.

I had one of the worst experiences with Ellis porter. After initial consultation with Jonathan Goslow EP attorney, he accepted to file my motion. With having only 33 days to file that petition, I had to follow up several times to ask him studying my case carefully and communicate with me. Long story short, he didnt really pay attention to my comments and filed my motion. Unfortunately, in response to the motion, I received 3 rejection letters from USCIS explaining that there were numerous errors in filing this motion. I contacted Jonathan Goslow asking him for my refund, instead of proper response or referring me to his supervisor, he deleted my account in client portal to clear all of the communication evidences. I am in fact very frustrated and would like to get my money back.

Ellis Porter lawyer's advice is simply junk in order to save efforts and cost. Ellis Porter lawyer suggested me not to include recommendation letters for a NIW case, which turns out to cause my case to receive a RFE from USCIS where the immigration officers said I need to include the independent reference letter. Don't trust the lawyer if he simply tells you the lie in order to gain more profits. This definitely is a waste of time for a straightforward case like mine.

I think my attorney has given his best but he was just not prepared to handle a unique case like mine. So I ran into a lot of problems with my attorney and the USCIS officer. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have chosen this firm. It should have been a red flag that a lot of promises are only in the emails but not in the actual attorney contract, like the quick turnover time and personal attention so a lot of them were just empty promises. Also, most of their Google reviews were fake. My friend who initially introduced me to the firm later said the attorney prepared the review and asked him to post it on Google. Most clients don't really mean what they posted. The attorneys at Ellis Porter mislead new clients and draft template reviews for the old clients. Be vigilant! Ellis Porter will never prepare template reviews for whose who had failed their cases and the voices of those unfortunate clients are simply silenced. This is an extremely illegal practice and should be investigated by FTC and related authorities.

I did my NIW petition and change of status with Ellis Porter. The whole process took about 16 months. John Goslow was the lawyer for the NIW petition and Allyn was the main attorney for the change of status part. Very fast, reliable, and they actually are invested in the success of your case. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I worked with David and Ian, both of them were very prompt in replying to my all queries. They filed my NIW and EB-1. I got my EB-1 case approved with expedited service. Highly recommended!

I retained Ellis Porter because I thought they will provide speedy and decent service, but I am very disappointed after I started working with them.

Based on my friends' experience with all other law firms, normally it should only take 2-3 weeks for an attorney to draft the recommendation letters. I don't understand why Ellis Porter's attorney needs so much longer time to finish my letters! I waited for more than 1 month! And when I requested them to speed up, I waited for a long time to get their replies that they cannot due to case loading. When I finally received the letters after a long waiting time, the quality is not good, either.

Another problem is that there are many mistakes in their documents, such as copy and paste in the letters which I had to rewrite all of them from the beginning. They don't even bother to check the typos or correct names of the recommenders. Moreover, when they found out the mistakes, the also didn't even accept the mistakes or apologize. I need to follow up and follow up over and over again to get my questions answered and they even procrastinate to ship the notice from their office in order to file my I-485.

My case was supposed to be a straightforward case, but due to their gross mistakes, they delayed me at least 1 year comparing to other people that used other attorneys or worked on their own.

It's a nightmare to use Ellis Porter and they eventually wasted a lot of my time.

Polite people but have limited ability and experience. My case was eventually denied after RFE response. I don't recommend.
