Regardless of the fame Universidad Eafit has built in Medellín (Colombia) in terms of education, this university, as an organization and employer, runs nepotic practices at the time of hiring personnel, and also excessive sanctions for employees in conflict with partners or authority figures... The university has a "living-together committee" (Comité de convivencia) for employees, supposedly serving as a monitoring department or watchdog group to prevent bullying (students) and mobbying (employees), but actually acts, involuntarily, as an extension to get victims of both types of moral injuries expelled/fired, indirectly protecting bad bosses/bad teachers/bad authorities with safe and steady contracts but no special contributions in terms of career, papers, books, life path, and so on... Its is a shame, as the university has gained some prestige over the years as the best academic alternative in the city, but these practices cut opportunities to new employees with better curricula, greater experience and extraordinary human value who are less known and too vulnerable to bullies and mobsters within Eafit's campus... The university fees are way too expensive, and confirm its tendency to elitism rather than to share knowledge and build a better society in a country with a huge social division... Some racist policies are unofficially reported and identified within the leaders of the psychological support area, in which some students from the Chocó area (afrocolombian) are encouraged, in the middle of their treatment, to abandon their studies. As a questionable strategy, students are also given the answers of HR's tests currently held in Medellín's main enterprises, to guarantee their candidacy/hiring to job vacancies which are better suited for other candidates with much greater preparation and experience.
