Worst experience ever and Worst after sale support ever!

This is what happened to us... i emailed twice to Economycarrentals but they never ever had the decency to reply!

WE DEMAND TO BE COMPENSATED FOR OUR RENTAL AND THAT YOU STOP WORKING WITH "CARWIZ" AND DO A PROPER CHECK WITH THE COMPANIES YOU COOPERATE... THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY!

"The most dangerous people to rent from... stay away!

We booked a car and after arriving at the place the car which we were given was a Fiat Punto and from the first look i did not like something. My wife was not so keen either as we also had our little daughter 2 years old with us! The child seat we got which we paid 30 euros rental for 5 days was in just ok condition!

I told the person in charge that we had paid for a car in the category of Suzuki Ignis and that we should get a newer car in a better condition. He assured me that the car was fully serviced and was in the same category. The man for 6 minutes was noting down scratches which there were so many around the car.

Anyhow we left and on the motorway when we would go above 90 km per hour there was a weird noise at the front of the car. We decided to drive around 70 km per hour until we reached the village where we had booked.

It was late so next day morning i called the office and a lady told me that if i feel uncomfortable with the car i should drive it back (1 hour drive) to get another one. She said i don_t have 2 people available to pick it up as we need 1 person to drive the platform and 1 person to bring a new car for you. I told the lady why? Send one person with the new car and he/she can drive ours back.

She said no we cannot drive a car that might have an issue?! So i asked her_you don_t want to take the risk driving the car back but you want me to take the risk and bring it back?_ It was our holiday time so for the sake of my family being safe i decided the next day early in the morning to drive it back. The car had no battery... so i had to push back and forth in order to u-turn so that i could gain speed as there was a bit of decline. Managed to start the car and on the motorway i could hear a weird sound still around 70 km and frankly honest was not comfortable at all.

30 minutes before arriving at the office at Herakleio the steering wheel was disabled along with the radio going on and off... things were shady with this car and i am glad i managed to drive to the place in order to get a different car. Worst experience ever and i did warn them that they are dangerous people and what if anything worse would happen if we were with our little girl... such people should get their license taken and the authorities should had been checking if they actually service their cars and they are not operating just to get some cash from people."

Terrible Experience

Terrible experience. I trusted TrustPilot in order to proceed with a car rental via EconomyCarRentals and it went from bad to worst. I wanted to rent a car for a week and I paid full insurance in order to avoid the deposit on my credit card. When I went to the rental company they had made the booking with, called "Green Motion" near the Athens aiport, the lady at the reception had a really bad attitude from the moment we walked in. (You can check the reviews on Google and you'll know what I mean)
Anyhow, we got to the point where she told me they would keep a deposit of 806,00€ and that the agreement of full insurance was between me and EconomyCarRentals which seems like a joke. So in case anything happened I would have to pay the rental company and then try and get the money back from EconomyCarRentals... In the voucher I got after I made the booking it says Excess: 806 EUR for damages and theft 1450 EUR and below it says Guarantee / Deposit / Bond: 806 EUR. So they are basically saying we cover you for 806,00 EUR damages but there is also a deposit of 806,00 EUR on your credit card...
In the end I did not get the car because my credit card limit was exceeded (guess what, that's why i booked full insurance at first place). I offered the company credit card because I told them my company would be paying for the car but they could not accept it because it was not under my name, which is understandable but I was trying to find a solution. The lady at the "Green Motion" car rental company did not care at all, she never tried to find any solution, she just said call your agent (ECR) and cancel the booking for all I care. When I called ECR a representative told that they cannot return the pre-payment of 90,00€ (Which is approx. 3 days car rental payment, 31,00€/day) I had made because it was my fault I did not provide the credit card for the deposit.
I learned the hard way but a piece of advice to anyone reading this. Book a car directly with a car rental company and not through agents who claim to offer you better prices, you never know in what kind of trouble you will find yourself. They may keep the 90,00€ deposit if they are so eager for money but they sure lost more than 1 potential customer. I definitely will warn all my business associates about this unpleasant experience.

Economy Car Rentals-Istanbul Airport

I have rented a car from economycarrentals from Istanbul SabihaGokcen (SAW) Airport. On May 11th 2021, I have picked up the car and returned at the same place on May 22nd at 19:00. When I picked up the car at the airport I paid the deposit of 1,500 TL by the request of employee who brought the car at the airport. Even though I have paid toll fees of 400 TL when I returned the car, they have charged again this amount when they returned the deposit. The car I rented was a used car (at least more than 10 years old) with odometer reset. I knew this because it started from 0 kilometer while I was driving it. Although I have complained Economy Car Rentals did not reply to solve this issue. The rental price from Economy Rental Car is a bit less than other rental car companies, but the car is old and you have to wait at the airport till they deliver the car to you. It is inconvenient and as I mentioned they charge more than the amount we agreed on. Below is my email correspondence with this rental car company.

We were informed by the local provider you have some doubts in regards to the billing of the car.

I wish to kindly inform you according to the rental Terms Your rental excludes:

Fuel, Highway tolls

Upon the car collection, you offered a deposit to the local provider.
After the rental provider automatically charged you for the highway tolls as were used during your rental.

We hope this clarifies this matter and if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us back.

When I rented the rental car at the Istanbul Airport, I paid 1,500 TL as a deposit.
Please see the contract showing that I paid 1,500 TL as a deposit in attached photos of 9365 and 9366 when I receive the rental car.

Then when I returned the rental car after use, I paid 400 TL separately as a toll fee to the employee of this company at the same airport.
You can see the receipt as attached in photo 9367.

So basically the rental car company should return full amount of deposit of 1,500 TL.
Instead as you in my credit card statement on June 15 in photo 9368, they wired me only 955.82 TL.

So they owe me 544.18 TL. If I don't get this money in a week, I will leave appropriate review for your company.

"The most HORRIBLE car rental experience I've ever had!"
First thing first, Economy car rental is merely a distribution agent and it offered me the car provider namely "Routes"(or acting for both?) in my trip to Vancouver.
I arrived the shop at around 7pm and was given a Kia Forte instead of my choice Nissan Altima (is it similar for the substitution? I really doubt it) in a dusty and dirty condition inside out. I requested to have it cleaned but the staff told me it was cleaned ridiculously. I had to wipe the car with my finger to show him. I insisted on washing it and finally they just water spayed it for a few minutes without having dried it for my inspection of the body and I had to dry it myself to inspect the body... I didn't have the strength to argue but finally accepted and drove away becoz it was getting dark and I was exhausted from a 12-hours flight.
3 days later, I woke up at 8 am in the morning and found out the car was hit-and-run with a dent on the left rear door panel where it was parked at the back of a secluded house with a long private driveway with no public access surprisingly. Called police but they wouldn't come to investigate becoz there was no suspect!
Long story short, I brought the car back and they told me I would be responsible for a Canadian $2000 deductible becoz that was the insurance package I picked. I went to report ICBC (the only provincial govt insurance entity in B. C.) and I was told the max deductible for a hit-and-run was $750 and a garage gave me an estimate of about Canadian$700 to repair. However, I found out that Routes didn't even report to ICBC. I kept asking Economy Car Rental and Routes to provide me the car repair estimate but I was kept beating the bushes from the date of the incident on 4th Nov and I still haven't seen any paper as of today...
The hit-and-run in fact was a very suspicious incident becoz of the place where I parked. Someone had to drive to the back of the house to make that happen. I didn't know if the car was equipped with GPS or followed by anyone to locate my location. I never had any proof of what was in my head but I would urge you guys to be 100%+ careful to avoid any possible scam.

I thought I could save a few bucks as everybody wanted but I actually lost a bundle! My total rental charge was about Canadian $406 but now it became Canadian $2882 ( 7 times+ more!).
My advice is that we all should go for reputable companies with proven satisfactory records.

I will never ever use these 2 companies in the future, period!
