15 months ago we thought Dwolla is promising and signed up. We went thru all their security checks of faxing bank statements, government ID. Business ID etc. Finally, they said we are accepted. So, we hired a programmer to integrate the system into our shopping cart which was not fun at all. Finally after a high programming cost we made it and tested the integration and all was accepted and tested good by Dwolla. It was a nightmare to convince any customer to use Dwolla. Finally we asked our regular customer to use Dwolla. The customer ended going weeks of work to provide Dwolla of their bank statements and business information and ID and so forth. Finally, the customer had Dwolla approved. Then the customer made 7 purchases and paid by Dwolla. We had the Transaction reply as Complete and authorization code. We shipped the products and after 2 weeks we never got the fund. We called Dwolla and they said they did not go thru, but they saw the transactions on their system over the days we provided them. Dwolla asked us to ask the customer to send payments using our email until they look into the integration issue as they said it is an integration API issue. The customer was able to send the payment using our email (Luckily it is a recurrent customer and agree to do it again after they got the products and two weeks passed). Finally we saw the transaction under our account pending for 3-4 days. We asked Dwolla to look into the API issue of the integration. Dwolla was able to use our system fine and we got an email from Dwolla asked that we need to send our government ID and bank statement. We did. And shortly we got an email from Dwolla stating all transactions are rejected. We phoned Dwiolla and they said they cancelled the transaction and our account. Strange we asked to speak to the supervisor and explained that it costed us programming and money after you approved us and now to state that. Additionally, we are a large company and have merchant account and PayPal account and established with perfect record. The supervisor answer was we do not care about the expenses that we uncured on programming and although we accepted your business before, but after you began to do business, now we do not accept you. What? What reason! Why did you not tell us that when we signed up and before we go through the trouble and programming cost. This could have been a very costly issue if all our customers used this Dwolla and we got their transaction authorized cost and then after a week to find out all rejected and we lost the money and programming cost and all the headache. They are the worst we ever encountered in the business world. The supervisor even said since we do business with other Merchants then we lost nothing as we have other means to accept payments. That was his answer. We hanged up and deleted this nightmare. Now, we and our customer wonder what did Dwolla do with all their and ours financial information and so forth. Be aware, we think they are just collecting information for who knows what they intend to use them for.
