We live in Vermont on 50 acres and felt the need to add a field cutter to our collection. We purchased a DR Field & Brush Mower PRO 26 14.5 hp end of season Oct. 2021. It was an online sale. The rep was very helpful when I called and we were told it would be delivered within a week. We added a 3 yr extended warranty. Within a day, we got a call that the machine was actually coming from Wisconsin and even though DR Power has an office in Burlington VT, it had to be shipped from Wisconsin. We arranged the delivery. The delivery kept getting postponed. Finally we were told their semi couldn't get to our house and it would need to be delivered to a business with a receiving dock. We jumped through hoops but made the arrangements. It was now mid-November. We finally got the machine in December just as the first snow arrived. We spoke to DR and explained that we would keep the machine inside for the winter but could not put it together until spring. They said there should be no problem doing this and it was covered under warranty even if a problem should occur. Spring came. We put it together, followed all instructions and tried to start it. Completely unsuccessful. We followed troubleshooting ideas in the manual. Charged the battery... No luck. We are not new to power tools, ATVs, generators, lawn mowers, tractors... there was something wrong with this machine. We called customer service and the rep ran us through a few new trouble shooting ideas. She was not familiar with the machine we had purchased and gave us incorrect directions leading to sparks, melted wires... We had to send photos of the manual and the machine in order to teach her where the parts were located. To make a long story short, DR arranged for the machine to be picked up and checked out by the closest warranty shop, an hour away. They said because it was never used and covered under warranty they would pay for the pick-up and arrange for the repair. To this day, we do not have our machine. The shop that is storing the machine said DR is not paying them for the pick-up therefore they will not take apart the motor to see what the problem is. We spent over $3,000 for a field cutter and a 3 year warranty. We do not have our machine nor do we have answers from DR. Unfortunately, we will be forced to settle this in court. I do not recommend this company. Maybe we should have known better making a purchase like this online, advertising such a great sale, especially at the end of season. This online purchase was a first for us. Being in our late 50s & early 60s, we broke our rule. Back to buying it in the store! If I could leave zero stars I would.
Stay away from this company.
