Ordered a Hush-1 guitar through DonnerMusic on EBay. When it arrived, I eagerly assembled it and tried it out. No sound from the earphone Jack or the guitar amp output jack. Contacted DonnerMusic on EBay but was referred to *******@Donnermusic instead. (EBay wants you to communicate with the vendor through EBay, but Donner redirects communication.
Customer service usually replied in 2 days, same day on occasion. No choice but to email as there's no phone number provided for customer service.
Their first reply asked me to check the supplied earphones on another device. I did and they sounded great! I relayed that information to Donner and they said they would refer it to their technical staff, who asked me to check the earphones on a separate device. DEJA VU! I tried another set of headphones in the Hush-1 with no success. Tried them and the Donner earphones on an iPad and they worked fine. Relayed that information and requested a replacement guitar. They replied they were out of stock but would send a refund, and told me to keep the guitar since it was defective. Fair enough. 10 days later, still no refund but they sent me a note saying they had the guitars back in stock and would be glad to send me a replacement. Said I would receive an email with a ship date and tracking number in 2 days, and would receive the guitar in 3-7 business days.
Two weeks later, I emailed Donner to ask why I didn't get an email or the replacement guitar. They said they'd have to check with their logistics dept.
I really think it's a one-person office that ships products with no Quality Assurance, and then tries to avoid refunds or replacements. There are many similar reviews.
On a positive note, the Hush-1 guitar seems to be very well-designed, workmanship appeared to be very nice at first glance. But if it doesn't work and Customer Support is lacking…. I finally contacted EBsy, explained the problem with the product and Donner CS, posted a photo of the guitar in my home, and received an email with a packing slip, mailing label w/tracking #, 2-week window to return it and a pledge to refund the purchase price within 3 days of receipt. Now THAT's customer service!
UPDATE: Lo and behold, a replacement Hush-1 guitar showed up as promised. Away from home at the moment so haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
