We are in a new house, and because I ordered from FGT before at our former residence, I knew they are a very reputable company with excellent products. We did not need a privacy screen at our old house, but this one we do...looking forward to seeing beautiful Leyland Cypress trees out the kitchen window rather than our back yard neighbor's living room and kitchen windows! Thank you FGT!

Reason I chose this business:

We need a privacy hedge quickly, so when I received an email that you were having a sale, buy 2 get one free, I jumped on it. Thank you!

Shopping, finding, and purchasing were great…reasonable prices and great assortment. Communication w/ shipping updates great as well. However, upon receiving snd opening package, one of the trees was not secure, came undone and had soil, w/ roots exposed, everywhere. (I did take pictures but main concern was getting planted and will f/u i have issues with tree survival)

Reason I chose this business:

Reviews and desired product availability

Reason I chose this product:

Overall research and preference choices for my landscape

I would like you to know your crew were without a doubt, the most efficient men I have ever seen work. They never took a "break" and were very courteous. Plus, they cleaned the area meticulously. I am a senior citizen, and it is a joy to see Quality work performed.

Pathetic experience overall, they cheats people. In the July I placed an order worth of 1000 Inr. Didnt received any update on my delivery after mailing them multiple times. September end I received my incomplete order, out of three plants received two of it that too one completely was died n other one in pathetic condition after sharing images and asked for the paid money back of incomplete delivery they said they'll process but yet no luck.
They big frauds and should be reported and blocked soon

We ordered six-packs of several different plants from these people, and when they arrived they were in a miserable state. The trees and bushes we received as the free gift part of our order where pack modestly I suppose. However, the plants we payed for appeared to me to have been just tossed in a box. Two of the plants were put in the box upside down. None of the boxes were marked as having Live plants in order to show that care should be taken in their handling.

Tip for consumers:
Don't bother ordering from this site, or the catalog. Just wait till the season starts and either plant your own seeds or buy starts from a local nursery.

Sent me a dead peach tree. I kept calling and would only get a busy signal. An email to info at summerstonenursery.com goes unanswered.

I knew their website was too good to be true. Low prices - free plants etc. Well if they charge little and give supposed free plants who will complain?
I am going to file a complaint to the TN Attorney General's office.

This is definitely a scam.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM

They are shady and thieves. Waited over a month for order, never shipped. Called to cancel, they would not accept a phone cancelation, said I had to email them to cancel. I did. A week later they charged me. Nothing from them if they shipped anything. No info from them at all, They wont answer phones or emails. Crooked Sons of a $#*!es they are!

Tip for consumers:
You will lose by doing business with this company. Please simply research them

From the business

Trees give us the breath of life. Literally.

Trees absorb pollutants - like carbon dioxide, ammonia, and ozone from the air - and trap it in their bark, store it, or process it for their own energy. In exchange, they release clean oxygen through their leaves. Trees are nature’s very first air purifiers!

Three trees placed purposefully around a home can cut summer air-conditioning bills by 50 percent! In addition to shade in the summer, trees make excellent wind screens, are food for animals and humans, provide habitats for wildlife, and help prevent water pollution and soil erosion. Studies have shown that hospital patients with views of trees out their windows heal more quickly, and that exposure to trees and nature improves mental health and reduces stress.

Trees even attract and heal. The more trees that a home, business or district has, the more people will instinctively be attracted to it.

But trees need care, too. Without regular pruning, inspections, and attention, your trees may become hazardous, diseased, or even die. We want to be your partners in tree care, adding value to your property, your life, and your community.

Business History

Jim Donegan's career working with trees started in northern Virginia in 1978 when he began working with Forman & Biller Tree Expert Co., in Arlington, as a groundsman and climber. They were one of the oldest established tree services in northern VA, having been in business since 1920.

Jim loved caring for trees and being outside in nature, and that passion just grew more over time. They worked on very old trees in places to which Jim could only have dreamed of going if he hadn't been in this job: the French Ambassador’s residence, Mount Vernon, the Naval Observatory and several different embassies. His knowledge of trees expanded while working under one of the leading Arborists of his time, Jim Biller. He took the time to teach Jim how to care for the trees as well as the clients, and the importance of self confidence in doing this job.

After working for Forman & Biller, Jim was offered a job with Fairfax Tree Company as a crew leader, where he learned the other side of the business: sales and providing quality work. In 1984, it was to start his own company and Donegan’s Tree Service was born. He was one of the first 100 people in the Mid-Atlantic area to become an “ISA Certified Arborist.” One of their first jobs was in the 18-acre White House grounds working on the trees in Sherman Park, Lafayette Park, First Division Monument and the Ellipse. We worked on 480 trees total, some of which were the oldest trees in the area.

At Donegan's our passion and love for trees continues to grow every day and we are always looking for new ways to improve our knowledge of trees, and the tree care industry. Donegan’s Tree Service is committed to serving it’s clients with the best tree care possible.
