First off I have managed a dollar store unfortunately. This review has 2 viewpoints. As a customer i am terribly dissatisfied. The atmosphere is that of a funeral parlor though worse! Not greeted, not thanked for shopping, glarred at, made to feel as you should go somewhere else! No public restroom is a huge diservice to the shopper. But the way they snap at you when you ask to use a bathroom. Wow. This is DG in Milaca Mn store # *******. Who manages this place? They should be fired and thee entire staff is horrifying. I will plan to commute to Princeton shopping locations and willingly spend the extra 12 min to get there. For shame you call yourselves a store that serves its customers well.

Let's start with Crystal the store suppose it manager would not sell a pack of cigarettes to someone with her ID then locks customers in the store, refuses to open door for other customers wanting to leave and calls the police said she was threatened police do nothing and say that she is just delusional if this is management and this is how you treat paying customers that's sad and bad business. If this is management and this is how you treat paying customers that's sad and bad business we are seriously offended by Crystal's actions as management, or even employee to custom to us as a customer. We will be filling an official complaint with Dollar General and authorities.
I bought a metal scrubber it said on the display one dollar but when I got to the counter the cashier says 2.25 either the employees are mis marking the prices or putting them in the wrong place but either way they should no better.
I noticed Dollar General has employees do both their stocking and cashiering

Just wanted to write this review and let it be known that somebody needs to be undercover and go into the store *******. And see that the manager leaves early and does not do what she supposed to do in my eyes. Everything I go in there the carts are everywhere. And to me the employees do the best they can do on putting things up. And not to mention that if you are a felon they won't hire you. Well he'll look into her background.
When I first moved here this Dollar General never stayed open,never had bags,the lights would constantly go out and would never have Cashback.Since an employee named Jessica has been there it's been a joy to go and shop.She is always friendly and professional...There are new employees now and I hope the energy doesn't change...Some don't speak,be on the phone and don't have customer service skills.I won't say names but Im sure they won't last.Anyway I thank you for hiring her.she's the best.There's another older African American employee who's wonderful as well.The others are questionable..
The store itself is awesome but the owner or owners run them like a plantation. One store in Symrna TN has a very frail man that work the store by himself, putting up stock and running cash register. There's 4 stores in my area and they're all short of help. I ask about the pay 8.00 to maybe 12.00 and while they enjoying the good life their employees are struggling to keep the store running smoothly. SAD
Blackduck Minnesota store is a complete disaster. You can't go down isles with a cart ever. Carts of unpacked items blocking isles. With a sign outside for the last year that says newly remodeled. Either down size the inventory or build on for over stock. Whoever orders has their head up there $#*!. It is as bad as a hoarder's house. Shopping experience is the worst! I don't even know how they are staying open. All in all I have never seen a store this disorganized.
Is it me or does all dollar general brand food items taste soapy? It seems for the past few months now, every thing I've purchased of their brand in food has been soapy or perfume tasting and it's made me and my boyfriend sick as hell.
I can't tell who the employees are because they dress like people I see hanging on the corner or in a gas station. They wear hoods and their underwater is showing, see attached. On several occasions, when I've gone to checkout, the prices listed on the shelves do not match the prices at the register. It has normally been a difference of about 25 cents or 50 cents but today it was a $2. The manager went to look at the shelf price and did admit that the shelf showed the lower price and that someone must have made a mistake and she could not honor that price. I have drastically cut back on my shopping at DG due to this. Are all the DGs this way? Entice the shopper with low prices then charge them more at the register.
I was recently in the Dollar General Store on Schotthill Woods Dr. in Jefferson City, MO. I complimented the manager on his store. The store is always clean and well-stocked. His employees are always very pleasant and helpful. The manager himself has always been very professional and goes above and beyond to find the product you are looking for.

I went into your store today and picked up six items. I was overcharged for all six. It was not the cashier fault at all. I called the district manager to let him know and all John said was this happens we will circle back on it. I said but everyone else is being mislead as well. John said we are fixing your problem right? I said yes got a whole refund and left the stuff there. Poor management no wonder everyone dislikes that store.

Every time I'm in the store the manager is constantly looking in my cart to look inside of my bags and literally leans on my cart to break her neck to look in my bags I've been in store multiple times and she's made other people feel uncomfortable for the same thing or telling them that because there was no carts that they couldn't use their book bag to put stuff in as he had it in the front of him wide Open putting stuff in it to use it as a carrier tell them he can't use that made him upset to where he was like what else am I going to put my stuff in you guys have no carts the man was disabled he got really upset and took everything out of his bag and left the store she does this to multiple people she needs to focus on cleaning that store and stalking it correctly instead of focusing on people's carts
Do not go to the Hastings Bridge location in Hampton! Two ladies up front wear so rude I wanted to slap them both. The self checkout would not scan my creamer probably cause it was wet so I get ready to go to regular cashier, one woman stopped me and said they have to figure out what's wrong with it. I told her I did not want to wait around while they figure it out so was going to other one. She said no I'm here. She trying to scan and it did not work then she said go ahead. So I went to the other register. The first woman's started talking about me saying it was me not self serve machine it's working fine. I was pissed but remained quiet until, The second lady then says yeah she was huffy with me. I told her that's not true I have not said anything to you. She decides to raise her voice and tell me bye. I have never been treated this way at this location. Stay away, no one deserves to be treated this way when we paying our money! Go to another location! Buyers beware!
Are all DG (dirt & garbage) as filthy as Rutherford Co. NC? I gave up when a new one came to my village 2 months ago without proper employees being trained.Garbage outside & inside for the most part and 2 or 3 employees cannot run a store.It is a BIG JOKE.I no longer support the efforts of such a low class operation.
There were alot of homeless people trying to take my food and they tried to eat me up they also ate my friend anch's mc donalds.
