New websites that need to improve their search ranking should list in the Yahoo directory - I feel like Yahoo is ripping everyone off. I hate the idea of paying $300 just to have Yahoo say my site isn't spam and they will publish it in a list. However, when you're just starting out with a new site, and if you don't have major blog or other online media coverage, Yahoo's Directory listing is well worth the $300 fee.
