This company is FAKE. I just recently tried to purchase the 5D Mark III and then got an odd email saying that I had to call and confirm my purchase. I called and after the man asked my approval for the camera purchase, he asked me if I knew how to speak Japanese. I said no, and he continued on to say that I had bought the overseas version that could not be reformatted to English and would have to spend another $700-$800 to buy the American version. I had told them that online it said NO WHERE that the one I was purchasing was in Japanese and was entirely made of plastic. I told them to cancel the order about 12 hours after I made my mistakable purchase on their website. The man, who I believe is named Scott, proceeded to tell me that there was a 10% cancelation fee, and demanded that he was trying to help me out and have me buy something else. I told him that I just wanted the money refunded and he again told me that he didn't want me to have to pay the cancellation fee. He then tried to sell me the Canon 6D saying that the Canon 5D Mark III was the exact same thing. I told him that I did not want the 6D numerous times and wanted the 5D Mark III but didn't have enough money to buy the American version therefore I just wanted the money back in my account. He continued to argue with me that I must have had enough money in my account to buy the "Overseas 5D Mark III" so why didn't I want to buy the 6D? This really started to irk me, since I'm a photographer and clearly know what I want, don't argue with me about what I want to buy. I continued to tell him that I did not want the 6D in any type of way and he presumably said well why don't you think about it and call me back tonight. I told him that I would call him back to either purchase something else or cancel my purchase because I needed to consult with someone else but I would not be able to call him back that night since they close at 6pm. Scott then started to half and puff and reply "fine". That night I went online to do some research on reviews of DigitalOutlets.net to see if it was a serious company. On the websites review section, every review seemed to be five stars with short descriptions, which I found odd. So I went on other websites specifically meant for reviews and found out the same thing had been happening to everyone else that had used DigitalOutlets.net. I had searched the terms and conditions to see if the cancelation fee was real, and found that it said that the cancellation fee would only be applied if they needed to restock the item, which they didn't need to since I told them to put the order on hold therefore it couldn't have been shipped out. I had called back digital outlets.net the next morning to tell them I wanted to cancel my order along with a full refund. Once the man on the other end of the call started to argue with me I knew right away that it was the same man I had talked to the previous night, Scott. He then put me on hold and told me he was going to speak to his manager, he came back on the line and said if I gave them a great review on their website that they would give me a full refund with no cancellation fee. With that much money on the line for a college student, of course I gave them a spectacular review in order to receive my full refund. He told me that I would receive my refund in my account within 5 to 7 days. It has now been seven days and nothing has been transferred into my account. I had told my mom about what had happened and she proceeded to call them, and Scott had told her that I received an email about my refund a week ago. I check my email about 3-4 times a day and never had gotten one. At this point I had had it. I called them obviously in a rage and told Scott that I have yet to receive my money back. He had said that my mother was just on the phone with him and didn't know why I was calling. As I proceeded to tell him why I was calling he started to argue with me that my mom had called and said the same things. I said yes but I never got an email. He told me to check my email while I was on the line with him and he had just sent me one while on the phone with me about my refund. On the email it said it would take about another week to get my refund back, after it had already been a week since I was supposedly getting my refund. So of course I started to argue with him and he started to get an attitude with me so I said "I'm not sure why you are getting an attitude with me the customer is always right." Scott said, "Is there something wrong with you like seriously, is there something internally wrong with your head? Where the hell did the phrase 'The customer is always right', come from that is not right." At this point he was yelling at me through the phone and then hung up. Obviously, I called back to ream him out and he said that I had hung up on him and said that me and my mother were "serious idiots". I then began to tell him that he was scamming anyone and everyone who visited DitgitalOutlets.net, so he started screaming at me saying he wasn't scamming anyone. I replied "Really, because I went on many other websites to read reviews about DigitalOutlets.net and they all say that everyone was having the exact same problem specifically with you and your supposed company. You're selling stuff off the black market, what the hell is wrong with you?" Scott: "Hahaha, you're a $#*!ing idiot it's called the graymarket." I didn't realize that it mattered what color I had said and that either way it was scamming and illegal. So then I started to tell him that he had no idea how to run a business and that I was done being scammed, and hung up. I have now had to file a claim with my bank about fraudulent purchases made on my debit card. Fingers crossed that I get anything back, don't ever trust or use DigitalOutlets.net. I will continue to do my best to spread the word about how awful my experience was. Stick with B&H or Adorama you'll save time and your money.
I order a canon xf 200. I research prices online stores and all, absolutly all were abou 4K new even ebay was 2500 to a 3500 used, anyway I went ahead and put the order, minutes later a received a welcome email and order confirmation, waited like 2 weeks and I call the number on their web site, one extremely rude dude said that they did not have on stick tha particular model, and I should received it in a 2 weeks cause they will ship it directly from the manufacture... waited 2 more weeks. And 2 more and 2 more and it was 2 months and nothing call again and the dude said that it has been a delay ond the shipment. I was pissed and a cussed out the guy and he cussed me back... I call my bank and file a dispute for that transacction and 2 weeks later I call to see if they issued the refund That dude was super pissed and he sah that they had to recall the package cause it was already being delevery and once they have the package they will issue the refund and hang up on me... ALL I AM TRYING TO SAY IS DONT BUY THERE AND SAVE AN hEart attack!
