Professionalism vs. false advertising
June 30, 2020

I did a search for web designers in my city and these guys were the first one's that popped up. After contacting them, the Sales rep Ian was super nice and got me connected with the web designer right away. I instructed Ally, the web designer, what i wanted for the website and logo he put together a mediocre website but i figured i would work with him on that later because the logo wasn't what i wanted from the design, to the color to the actual spelling of my company name. After several emails back and forth, i finally hand drew a rendition of what he had proposed, scanned it to my pc and colored it like i wanted and sent it to him. Finally i got the logo i liked and the colors i wanted. BUT... i was concerned with the overall performance. A web designer is suppose to take your suggestions and build on them and make them better not worse and how do you start out spelling the name correctly and then just changing it out of the blue. Back to the website, i asked for an english and spanish version of the website; now this isn't a big deal honestly but it's such a simple thing that it is what broke the straw on the camels back. He put a Spanish flag for spanish and for english he put a British flag. Like i said not a big deal but it was here where i realized this is not the company i want to continue doing business with if they are this negligent on these little things how are the big things like hosting going to pan out. I emailed Ian and asked for a refund. This is where the fodder it the fan. The resolution guy started giving me the third degree and started talking over me when i insisted on the refund in the end he said i would be refunded however i never received and email confirming such. After i hung up with him i got a call from Ally who almost immediately went off on me and proceeded to yell and curse at me and even went so far as to pridefully tell me that my domain now is owned by their company and if i wanted it i would have to pay them $550 then he proceeded to inform me because i canceled their subpar service that they would snag up every domain similar to mine and their wasn't a blanking thing i could do about it and they would spend $1000's of dollars sending negative publicity everytime someone searched my name on google, facebook, twitter etc. um defamation of character anyone? By this point i am beyond livid and i lost my stuff and told him they will be hearing from my attorney, he came back with they have 50 attorney's who keep them safe from scammers like me. I highly doubt i will be getting my money back but their team of 50 lawyers can deal with my banks corporate lawyers because i submitted a claim and got my $1500 back from my bank and canceled my card so they can't ding me later. Keep in mind this is paraphrased because i can't remember word for word but I think you get the picture, these guys are a scheme to get hard earned money to fund Lord knows what and for that reason, I'm out!

Beware, Scammers, Lies upon Lies
February 21, 2020

This entire process started in July 2019 when I asked them to fix a color in my logo. The price was $45 I believe at that time and you got all files in all formats for that price. After they fixed the minor color issue I had asked for they claimed the logo was now their creation and I had to pay another $275 in order to receive all the files that were supposed to be included in the price and I had to copyright. Taken back is an understatement. After much frustration they offered an additional logo at no charge and to drop the price to $249 to copyright all logos. A total of three. I have called numerous times since asking where my paperwork is. It got delayed due to the holidays, it has already been approved and just numerous other excuses. Today I get a text from a gentleman I have never spoken with and actually called an complained out because he texted and told me I needed to copyright when I had already paid the fee months earlier. So I called and they put him on the phone he insisted I talked to him previously, no I did not. I asked for a supervisor. Long story short they are asking for an addition $250 now. I am told that was to file the copyright not get it and now you have to pay an additional fee to actually get it. I told him forget it they are scammers and I would do it myself. He said it will cost you thousands. So I called a real trademark / copyright company. Their fee is $49 to file the paperwork, the USPTO, government, sends you the customer an email with their filing fee $275. Your are assigned to an individual in which you must complete the process within 3 months or you have to start over. This to to copyright / trademark your logo, it doesn't matter if you have a name in it. You do not have to separately trademark if there is a name in it. However, you may trademark your name and if you choose to you may do that but it would be considered two filings and fees not one. I have emails and screen shots to prove everything. And I can promise you that they are recording every conversation. They sent me a recording to listen to where I was arguing and in the end said I could possibly do it. Possibly does not mean yes or an authorization. When this all started I stated that I could possibly do the copyright. They took that as a yes, charged my account they charged for the initial $49 without me stating yes and authorizing payment. I sent an email a few days later told them that I had decided not proceed but that didn't matter they charged my account without authorization and refused to refund. It is 2/21/20 and now they are looking for more money to supposedly complete my copyright. Just for those wondering they have offered free logo, free brochure and I have turned it all down. I said I just want my copyright and to be done with you. Beware, Lies all Lies and more money. Money they do not need to complete the process. Just wish I had done my research first. I urge you to do your research call a legite Trademark company first and ask them how it works. I was also warned before I hung up that if I didn't complete the process someone else could use the logo and name. So i guess they may sell it now. However, I do have federal EIN for my company so I do not know how that will work. I am a small business owner and this money wasted here could have spent wisely elsewhere or donated to a better cause.

Here is what I initially purchased and was told I could not get all the formats unless I paid the copyright fee.

Very unprofessional and lacks skills
December 19, 2019

I reached out to Design Eminent (www.designeminent.com) to construct me a website, back on May 3rd of 2019 (This review is written on 10/31/2019). I provided them all the information they needed and of course I had to pay them in full, up front. Some web content was updated along the way and I provided that to them. I understand this added a bit of time and work for them, but it was simple updates (menu items changed, pricing changed). They provided me a mock website to review my changes. The mock up design needed some fixes and I had conversed via the Design Utility with my account manager and responses were slow at times. When attempting to call, there have been several instances where I was unable to reach them on the phone. There were several issues that I encountered:
1. I had asked for a receipt twice, and it was never given to me.
2. The website has taken 6 months for them to construct, and it's still has nonfunctional pieces.
3. They will not give any money back, even if it's early in the process. (I asked for my money back due to a family emergency).
4. Every time I requested something to be fixed, it was never fixed, even though they said it was. I kept getting the "it works on my box". Other times, they'd fix that but would mess something else up.
5. Once they indicated they've fixed the issue, I'd go in and look. There were other issues that were blatant and stood out like a sore thumb. One of them was the offered products' photos were turned sideways. How can you miss that? I guess their developers don't even do a check before letting me know it's ready?
6. When I would point something out that's wrong, I would get the response of "the developers are already on that, fixing it." If that was the case, then why was I prompted to go in and check to see if the previous issues were fixed?
7. Timing of was the essence and they delayed many times, and blamed me for the updates I needed them to make earlier on. Not once did they meet their deadline.
8. There were obvious things missed. For example, earlier during the initial development, I asked them to change the options of media I offered. I sent that info to them but they didn't bother to know that it also needed to be changed in the pricing menu. I would think a professional development team would know this needs to be updated as well. This caused a lot of delay.
9. On multiple instances when I requested them to call me back, I never got a call back.
10. When I was fed up, I told them I needed to get this site published because an article was being published, regarding my company. When they published it (just under 6 months later), it was full of issues major issues. For instance, I was unable to place an order and add it to cart. When I told them to fix all these issues, they told me to keep in mind, that the website is published and belongs to be now, and that they will not be fixing these issues. Well, these issues were brought up well before the sight went public. And what kind of a web developing company would publish with these issues, and not fix them upon request?
11. This website has very obvious and "common sense" items that were not put into consideration, like when signing up, getting a notice to check email and confirm link, putting a progress bar up when loading a large file (there was no indication anything was happening), and many others.
12. They texted and emailed me about leaving them a 5-star review on TrustPilot. (Google this review websitedoesn't seem to be legitimate. Also, take a look at this review site in BBB.) And while you're in BBB, look up Design Eminentthey are rated as an F.
13. After publication, they provided me a tutorial on how to work the backend to make updates to the website and this is verbatim, what they sent me:

14. They have not given me a full refund for hosting; I paid $550 for 3 years hosting and I had requested a refund less than a week later and they have refused to give me a full refund. They refunded 50% of it, if I promise to leave them a positive review (on Trust Pilot). I had to, to get my money back. They told me then they'd refund the other 50% and they have been placing me on hold until I hang up.
15. I have come to the conclusion this company is very unprofessional and seriously lacks even the basic skills to develop a website. They don't have a lick of respect for their customers.

STAY FAR AWAY
June 4, 2019

OH how I wish I would have read reviews on this company before I agreed to let them build my website, not only are they unprofessional they lie, they do not honor the 100% money back guarantee. And they do not honor anything in there packages everything is an "UPCHARGE" that was agreed to in my package. Hideous web designers and call themselves designers is a stretch all they did was have me do all the leg work and regurgitated on paper everything I gave them. Needless to say MONTHS and I MEAN 2 MONTHS of back and forth I only had a logo ( that I created and they spit back out) they charged me an absurd amount of money and when I got fed up with the lack of production, countless lies, and unsatisfactory work I asked for a refund to which they did but kept $250 of my money claiming they had to recoup the hours they spent on my work. LIE, and then I asked them to release my domain name which I paid for in my package, * said that he would get it transferred, he sent me a fake code 3 domain companies confirmed it was fake and I have called and emailed him at least a dozen times on the issue which no response but a screen shot of the word "transferred" LIE, I made one last ditch effort contacting them a couple of days ago and told me for $175 they would release the name. I started out with hiring this company on March 11th and today I am still battling these unprofessional POS. I will now have to go and reserve some crappy name for my website of my brand new business. Please Please Please save yourself alot of stress and choose another company. I will be reporting them to the BBB but note they are not even accredited with the BBB and when you check them on the BBB site they have a D+ rating. Consider yourself warned! SO MANY OF THE "BAD" REVIEWS ON THIS SITE ARE SO TRUE AND OUR EXPERIENCES WERE VERY MUCH THE SAME WHICH TELLS ME THEY DESIGN EMINENT COULD CRAE LESS HOW THEY TREAT THE CONSUMERS AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION are just 2 words!

Not what I would expect from a business in the service industry
February 14, 2019

I had asked for a new template for my site and the company created a whole new website. That's not what was delivered. I was okay with this before we ran into so many other issues. I asked for a mobile update that needed to be done before the site was launched. It wasn't. The site was launched before the update was made. It was an important update because it changed the look above the fold and added search functionality that was already on the site that I wanted to keep. I asked to be notified as soon as the site was launched. I wasn't. I found out myself that the site was launched over two days earlier. I was told that if the site went live, the URLs wouldn't change, and they would be the same as they were on the current live site. They were not the same. Knowing this, I asked for, and was told I would get login information when my site went live, so I could add redirects. I didn't get a login when the site when live. My website had been showing 404 messages because SERPs were sending them to dead pages because redirects weren't in place. I was given no way to log in to add redirects. My site was throwing 404 errors for over 2 days. I was charged $250 for a licensing fee after my contract said my $500 was a 1 time fee and I was not liable to make any further payments upon completion of the project. I was not told that the site wouldn't be mobile friendly under the contract when this is now a mobile first world. I was charged another $250 for this when this should have been in the original contract with appropriate fees. Note: I was trying to be okay with a lot of these things, sacrificing satisfaction, but when the site was launched and there were non-mobile friendly elements that I wanted corrected before launch, coupled with the fact that I wasn't informed of the launch and had to find out about it myself over two days after launch is unacceptable, and at that point I had enough. I no longer trust the company and the company has no intention of giving a refund when my contract states 100% satisfaction guarantee and 100% money back guarantee. They told me because they did work on the site, the money back guarantee was void. I will not be receiving a refund. $1000 down the drain. I tried to be reasonable on several occasions and have been trying to get a refund for a poorly handled project for over a month. They might even try to tell you that I'm not a customer. Well I'm not a customer anymore. I would not recommend this company.
