“Excellent food and service”

Denny's on 8243 S. John Young Parkway is one of the few that still has that old diner look and feel to it. Manager Javonne took my order and didn't miss a beat. One of the few managers that you see actually working. They were pretty busy on a Sunday but the crew pulled it off. Shout out to Katie in the kitchen who kept everything in order and cooked my food exactly the way I ordered it. The service was exceptional. Kudos to Javonne for a great job!

My husband and I stopped in at the Dennys in North Platt, NE. Off Interstate 80. All the employees that were on duty (4 waitresses and the manager) were in the back/kitchen talking with each other! Dirty tables (7) that never got cleaned the whole time we were there! Customers were waiting for Togo orders, customers waiting to pay, customers waiting to be seated, customers walking away because they didn't want to wait anymore! The food was too greasy!

Went to the Denny's/San Antonio Wonderland location on July 5th, was brought a menu & glass of water at approximately 2:18pm, server said he would return to take the order. There were very few customers at the time, however after waiting for 22 minutes decided to leave due to the fact that the server or his fellow servers ever followed up to take my order. This may have been an isolated incident but it does reflect on the quality of Denny's service. Check your videos for confirmation

We just ordered food from Denny"s for delivery so frustrated foods are freakin cold. Pancakes, crepes, hash browns, egg, cheeseburger, steak. No wonder why my husband hates them. Never again.

Tip for consumers:
Do not order for delivery.

So far, I have had good experiences eating here. I also like that it has a wide variety of selections to choose from and long operating hours.

Bad Food and Service!
It took forever for them to give us a table, they just kept ignoring us.
Finally we got a table, waitress took our order for drinks, coffee with cream and water No ice.
We got coffee, ICE Water, no sugar on table we used sugar from another table, no cream, no silverware we used the water straw to stir the coffee.
Any way She came back my daughter ordered steakhouse deluxe bowl and I ordered the prime rib Cobb salad.
Well she came back a little to fast with the order, guess what it was almost cold like they just put it to warm up and my "PRIME RIB" tasted awful! And smelled awful too.
I took me like 5 min. To get a hold of the waitress, no like they were busy they had only 3 tables with customers.
When I told her what happened and she didn't even offer an apology. I told her I didn't want the beef that tasted rotten and smelled awful and her answer was REALLY? They make everything fresh. FRESH! My beef was cold how it was it fresh.
She went back to the kitchen took the beef off and brought me th he same Salad and told me that she out a little more lettuce where the beef was. Also no avocado or the sticks the ones they put instead of croutons.
Any way when she gave me the ticket and I went to pay I was expecting that she take the charges of the beef, guess what nope! I had to pay the whole ticket when I ask her why she was charging me for the beef, she said, well my manager is not here and I can get in trouble if I don't charge you for it.
Come on! Who leaves a restaurant unsupervised a least they should have an assistant manager or some one that can take care of a situation like this.
Well I paid everything but for sure we are not coming back to this location ever!
Does that look fresh to you?
By the way I didn't eat the Salad.
My Salad didn't had what is circuled and the second picture shows a big chunk of old lettuce.
And I tipped the waitress just because I felt sorry for her been there.

Tip for consumers:
Don't Stop @ this location

My husband placed an order for Denny's through DoorDash. The drivers kept changing and the order never got picked up or delivered. Husband decided to go to Denny's to pick up the order and they refused to give him the food he paid for. They then refused him a refund. DoorDash also refused to refund for services paid for but not delivered on.

Tip for consumers:
Go back to supporting resturant not on DoorDash or UberEats

I was there with my friends. My buddy asked for wings and they forgot he existed. He didn't receive food until we were all done. Also she asked three of the five of us if they wanted refills. We weren't good enough apparently. Won't be coming back

I just got home from this place. I was there a little under one and a half hours. I had my twins with me and they ordered off the child's menu and I ordered a small steak with a salad and fries. 50 minutes later the waitress brings the kid's food and tells me my salad is coming soon and I said can you just bring the steak too and she said I did not order a steak for you. I said just cancel my order as we have been waiting long enough so I sat there while my kids ate, told the manager I would like to pay for my kids since my steak was never ordered. She did not charge me for kids as they eat free so that is the one star. I cannot believe I am typing this now- be warned. Horrible experience and a waste of my time! I asked for one extra cream cheese frosting for my granddaughters pancakes. There is approximately one tablespoon of this frosting in this tub. Nothing said about an extra charge. Same thing every week when we go. The waitress brought 4. I didn't ask for 4 but I got them, charged for them and paid for them only because I didn't look at the check until my son brought it back. The manager on duty said she couldn't do anything only the general manager who would call me yesterday and didn't.

Just an FYI do not buy the roast beef sandwich. The roast beef is cooked to the consistency of nasty mashed potatoes. I ate four bites of a plate that cost nearly $13.

The attitude I received today tells me to spend my money elsewhere.

We had errands to run with limited time available as my stomach growled from hunger. Our first choice of diners, we rejected when we remembered the seating arrangements were tight and didn't provide for social distancing. We drove past our second choice because the line outside the front doors circled around the side of the building. Our third choice posted a sign that they were closed because of limited staff available to work. Then a light in the sky beaconed to us — Denny's.

A recent commercial flashed in my brain advertising Denny's Bennies. I remember thinking they looked tasty so suggested we try it, apprehensively. My experience with Denny's has been hit or miss. I love their apple pie crisp with ice cream but at times have found the service lacking. But here it sat welcoming us with no lines, no waiting, a sign from the heavens.

Quickly, I noticed that the restaurant was quite sparse of customers. Wondering if it was a lost gem nobody had discovered or whether we were making a huge mistake, I told the waitress we needed a table for two. Ordering was easy because of the aforementioned commercial. While sipping our coffee and waiting for our food to arrive, I overheard a couple at an adjacent table order Denny's Bennies. They were informed that this item was unavailable because they were out of hollandaise sauce.

Interesting because I knew the ingredients for the sauce are pretty simple: butter, egg yolks, lemon juice, dijon, salt and cayenne pepper, a recipe that only requires a few minutes to prepare from start to finish. Confused to hear the lack of supplies and knowing we were not given the same information, I called to our waitress.

When I asked about the hollandaise sauce she wondered off to check. Returning she explained they were out of the powered mix and offered the same menu item with a substitution, queso dip. As my testbeds rebelled at that thought, I asked to see the menu again thinking they are sure spending a lot of money on advertising for something they don't have.

Ok. Sometimes things are simply our of our control so we changed our order but before our waitress left requested coffee refills. As we waited, my husband and I entertained ourselves by trying to identify the images on the waiter's tattoos that trailed up his arms, around his neck and over his head, quite a detailed a piece of art. We killed a little time visiting with the customers next to us until their order arrived and they left in anger because it was not what they ordered.

By now, our apprehensions had multiplied but I questioned, "How bad can they screw up an egg scramble?" We started drinking some water because our coffee cups were empty.

When our orders arrived, my question was answered and I really don't know how the cook accomplished this. In front of me sat a sizzling egg scrambled on a black skillet. I forked through the ingredients: diced potatoes, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, and onions. The aroma was intoxicating and the flavor divine. When the waitress returned and asked if we enjoyed the meal, I replied honestly, " I love the flavor but do not understand why my egg scramble has no eggs."

Just as I finished clearing my skillet, a plate of scrambled eggs was placed in front of me with an apology — but no coffee. Though we were full but not content, we asked for a bill. When it came, I was too frustrated to point out we were charged for Denny's Bennies, the item they did not have. When the waitress proudly announced she did not charge us for the coffee, I refrained from pointing out we didn't get much coffee but also didn't thank her.

I ordered a salmon dinner and the salmon was way overcooked, dry and somewhat burned. The rest of the dinner was good. I don't believe that the cooks know how to properly cook salmon!

I used to love Denny's back in the '70s, '80s and into the '90s. They had great servers, clean and quiet restaurants, and good quality food back then. Then things started to change for the worse: Understaffed restaurants, rude servers, poor service, food quality greatly suffered and then Denny's began installing those stupid jukeboxes in their restaurants. Every Denny's I've been in that has a jukebox is played very, very, very loud. I've asked on a number of occasions to please turn the volume down and the manager refused. Denny's is not a dance club, night club or a dive bar. It's supposed to be a quiet family friendly restaurant. Why blast that horrible '50s doo wop music or whatever other junk that they play at top volume? It's ridiculous! I don't know who (or what) they're trying to appeal to. But as long as Denny's wants to break the sound barrier with dreadfully loud music in their restaurants, then I'm done with Denny's and so is my family, coworkers and friends. Good riddance.

Recently ordered breakfast from them to take home and eat because I'm really not feeling well and trying to avoid interacting with a few people as possible so as to not spread it. Anyway, got the food delivered by Grubhub, which I will never do again, and it was missing the hot chocolate ordered for my little girl as well as the cream for my coffee, that I specifically ordered. I also ordered two sides of bacon and it came with one side of half cooked bacon and one side of half cooked sausage. The eggs were seriously over cooked and cold. The hashbrowns were undercooked and cold. My daughter got the pancakes, and she is an avid lover of pancakes, and they were disgusting, she said. The only edible parts of the meal were the buttermilk biscuits and the orange juice. When I complained through Grubhub, they had the gall to try and charge me for the additional items I did not receive, even though they weren't planning on bringing them out. I told them I'm not only not going to pay for something I already paid for, but I'm also not going to pay for items you have no plans on bringing out to me. They claimed the restaurant offered to refund me for the meal, but I have yet to see a single dime returned. I'm not typically one to complain about certain things, but this was the worst service I've ever received from not only Grubhub, but Denny's also. I used to really enjoy eating Denny's food, but I can't stomach it now if this is the crap they send out to people who do not dine inside the restaurant. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. Will never eat there again.

The don't deliver at all. When you attempt to place an order online it doesn't even work. I tryed 3 times online and after attempting to place my order it says " click here to place order" and when I did all 3 times it just attempted to load. I Finally got upset and I called the restaraunt I attempted to order from and was told that Denny does not deliver that I have to call a 3rd party delivery service like " grub hub and have it delivered through them. If that's the case the commercial on tv are not honost to the public it seems like you will be paying for two services food and delivery. They don't tell you on there commercials. So isn't that false advertising. I know I will NEVER order from dennys.com ever again

For many years I went to Denny's restaurant. Probably for about 20 years. I remember back in the 80's it was nice. About 3 years ago Denny's added some new dishes to the menu. One of my favorites was the new sirloin steak with the broiled zucchini and a fresh garden salad. The steak was just the right size about 4 to 5 oz. Because I like little portions of meat this seemed perfect.

I went to Denny's very often after they put this on the menu because I enjoyed it so much. Then after about 3 or 4 trips I noticed that they could never get the steak cooked right. I also notices that during one visit that the waitress brought me out something that looked like a car ran over it and it had grizzle all through the meat. I asked to speak to a manger and when she came over I explained to her that the steak was not a piece of nice sirloin. I told her that they always are a nice round small tender steak. I then told her I was not going to eat that and would up just eating the salad and leaving.

A few weeks later I tried again. I ordered the same thing again. The waitress was so rude and the manager was no better after I explained to them that the last time I was there I left hungry after waiting over 1 1/2 hours for them to try and get the order right. Then they gave me a courtesy by not charging me for the meal I ordered that night. I thought this was what they should have done on the night I was treated so bad and left hungry.

I then went to a different location and ordered the same meal again. There they had the same issue the steak could not be cooked as I requested. There was one employee there that cared enough to make sure that they fixed the problem and I had a good dinner.

I then went back a few weeks again to the first location and ordered again the same meal. Steak, zucchini and salad. I was told by the waitress they had no cucumber for the salad. I told her that I love cucumbers. She never tried to find a way to get one for the salad. I then told her I would go to the store and get a cucumber if she would put it in my salad. I left and went to Giant and bought a cucumber. They took the cucumber and never even offered to pay me back for going and getting it. I found myself thinking what kind of a restaurant sells salads but does not have what they need to make them. The customer service is lousy.

I was so tired of going there and getting terrible food, plus terrible service that I decided to stay away from there for quite some time. Probably for about 5 months. This year as Ash Wednesday came near. I decided to go to the Denny's on Belair Rd. I wanted to eat a steak before lent started, I was giving it up all meat until after Easter. I thought I would treat myself to a nice sirloin steak dinner if I could get one.

I went the evening before Ash Wednesday with 2 friends of mine and ordered the sirloin steak, zucchini and a salad. The waitress was very nice. My two friends also order the same steak. My girlfriend also got a salad, her boyfriend got mashed potatoes as there sides. When they brought out the steak the waitress told me that they had no A1 sauce for they steak. The manager went to the store and brought it back about 45 minutes later after I was almost done my dinner. We left the restaurant and went home. The next day about 11am I was sitting in my room and started to feel a lot of pain in my stomach. There was stabbing abdominal pains. These pains got worse as the time went on. Then I started to feel nausea coming on. My mouth was water and eventually I was vomiting very bad. Then after I threw up for about 5 minutes I felt some relief. Then after about 45 minutes it started all over again. I was vomiting very bad. I decided in between getting sick to try and make it to a 7 11 store to get a cola slurpee. Because there slurpee has coca cola syrup which is very concentrated and may help with the nausea. I was sipping on a large slurpee all day. The second day of throwing up I went and got another cola slurpee to try and settle my stomach down. Then I started to get major bathroom issues. I think you may now know I mean. I was throwing up and on the toilet at the same time I was so sick that I was afraid to try and drive to the hospital but wanted to go very bad. The third day the nausea began to slow down. The fourth day I took and over the counter medicine to stop the bathroom problem. During this 4 days of hell I had body aches and a fever also. I was so sick I could not get out of bed.

After a few weeks after this I called the owner of the Denny's. I told an employee what happened. She told me she would have the owner call back. I left my number for a call back. I finally received a call after 10 days or so. The gentlemen told me he was the owner and asked what happened. I told him everything in this review. He said that he checked out his store and it was very tidy. I told him I don't care how tidy it is that I got sick as a dog. I also told him that if I was not so sick I would have went to the emergency room to be checked for food poisoning. I also advised him that I have had food poisoning before and now what it feels like. He then said he was sorry and did not want to lose me as a customer.

He offered me free food voucher by mail to use if I wanted to come back. I told him to keep his vouchers that as sure as God made green apples I would never step foot in that establishment again. I asked him if you got sick eating somewhere would you go back? I thought he may offer to give me the money back that I spent to be ill for 4 days I guess that would be too much like right. I was very offended with his lack of concern for how sick I was. I told him he was very lucky I did not go to the hospital. I hope that this review will help Denny's clean up their act. I also hope that no one ever gets that sick again. Denny's in my opinion needs to put up a sign saying. "Enter Denny's at your own risk"
