Update - 06/07/2020 - Purchase financed thru AFFIRM - unable to help get money back

Here is an update to my previous post about DealsDot - which I "financed" for 3 Autopays thru AFFIRM.

I got an email today from AFFIRM, the company that I used to make 3 autopays for my purchase with DealsDot. The email said that it was my final warning - that if I didn't make the final payment, they were going to write off my balance, send to collections and report to the credit bureau. This email had a phone number for AFFIRM for me to call customer service today (on a Sunday) and I most certainly did call.

In my previous attempts to get my money back, AFFIRM originally was making me provide them with every attempt to communicate with DealsDot before they would even open up a claim to get my money back.

One of things I had done was somehow I managed to find that DealsDot has a FACEBOOK presence. When I went on that page, there were both positive and negative feedback... mostly negative in recent time. So I decided to do a LIVE MESSENGER CHAT. Haha... wow! I was asked how could they help. I told them that I placed order in December, gave them the order number and said I NEVER got the order but they got my money. And I wanted my money back. The chat person said, sorry for the bad experience, what can they do to make it better? Lol... I said give me my money back. And then you could have heard crickets chirp! Nothing... no other response from the chat... and FACEBOOK page is still up. The chat did have an 877 number, which I called *******404) and voice came on saying unable to complete the call. So I googled the number... shows it belongs to:
*******404 Katrice Wittkopf. *****Who is this? And this is the number from the DealsDot Messenger Chat!

What I didn't know until I spoke with "Grace" today at AFFIRM, was that I only had 60 days from the date of my original order to file that claim with AFFIRM. ( placed my order in Dec 2019). She said they only provide and set up the financing for this company - pay that company up front and then collect the money back from the consumers. And since it was way past the 60 days, they can't even file the claim to get the money back because they supposedly pay 100% up front to DealsDot when I placed my order. So DealsDot got all there money from AFFIRM but AFFIRM only got 2 of my 3 payments before I finally stopped the Autopay.

I told "Grace" that I can't be the only one who used AFFIRM to make my purchase with DealsDot. That they have to have had other customers who had the same issue - paid and got nothing. But yet AFFIRM still chooses to do business with DealsDot. (I'll honestly say I don't actually know if they still do and Grace could not confirm or deny if they do). At least with using something like PAYPAL, they do their due diligence on a company and if you have a dispute, they absolutely don't treat customer like this. They have fraud protection, which AFFIRM clearly does not.

At this point, this is mostly the end of my journey with this. I'm out $175. However, I have been advised to file a police report and use all this as documentation. Its the principal of the matter. Fraudulent companies should not be allowed to get away with nickle & diming people out of there hard earned money. I believe in Karma and I also do plan to write a letter to AFFIRM around this as well. I did get there physical address from "Grace" and apparently they are located in Pittsburgh PA.

REFUND/RETURN
