  • I contacted customer service, and had the worst experience.
  • This is the worst return policy and customer service imaginable, and has certainly left a lasting impression.

Markia from Hagerstown is the most welcoming and engaging sales clerk I've known. No commission- just character. She made me feel, important. I really enjoyed my experience and it's all because of her!

“Be sure to check size ordered”

tammy m.

Initially staff was attentive and helpful, once the purchase was made everything changed. Wedding dress was ordered two sizes smaller than it was supposed to be. Measurements were not correct (verified when seamstress double checked them). When dress was tried on it was too small because they had ordered the wrong size, unable to get another size in time. Then the alterations were over 500 dollars and a sloppy job. 2 if the bustle loops came out forcing bride to use safety pins to bustle dress. There were 2 straight pins left in dress. Back zipper was not altered as they said it would be. We were rushed during alterations. There was no privacy either when initially buying the dress and when the alterations were being made. It seems once the purchase was made there was no concerns for the customer. Another dress was purchased (MIL), wrong size ordered, again too small. Not able to get same dress delivered in time. 2nd dress had to be purchased, new shoes, new purse, only store credit even though it was their error. Again the initial measurements were incorrect when checked by the seamstress. The entire experience was "painful" and so stressful. This is not how a bride or anyone should be treated. The fact that we spent 3,000 dollars for this was a disgrace. Will never recommend their services to anyone.

I ordered my dress online through the David's Bridal site, after trying one on in store and receiving very poor help. I am the mother of the groom. When the item arrived it was not only the wrong color it wasnt even the item i ordered at all. I contacted someone immediately to return it and was told they didn't have a replacement in warehouse so i would have to be refunded and then purchase again. Growing frustrated but trying to be understanding I agreed. Now I am just beyond frustrated with your company and it's return policy. I do NOT have 2 months to wait for a refund of monies when you have had the product back in your possession for nearly 2 weeks already. I have 6 children, 4 daughters and 2 sons and we will NOT be using David's bridal for any future weddings. This is beyond ridiculous. You sent this refund email to me 4 days ago, and it states it may take up to 2 billing cycles to show my refund. How can you honestly do business like this? How many weddings have you ruined, how many brides have you stressed out to the point of tears? Shame on your company.

I have never been more disappointed in alterations from a professional location as I was with DB. I paid almost $200 and the dress was horrible, the coverup in the bust area was sown wrong that I had to use some tape to hold it together and the snaps in the back were so flimsy that I had to use a safety pin to keep it closed because it kept unsnapping... Very poor experience and never will I use David's Bridal again.

Wide variety of dresses at good prices. But the price of the accessories and the adjustment to the dress, made later, is almost double the value of the dress. After you choose the dress, I noticed an irritating rush to finalize the sale. The seamstress, as soon as she spoke to me, marked the adjustments and told me to meet her at the checkout. To adjust the hem of the dress and the neckline $300.

I suggest not going alone from the first visit so that someone can help you, be aware of the extra prices, because at the moment of emotion, it can generate some regret, as in my case.

If you are wanting a "no pressure" appointment this is the place. As in, if you want exactly ZERO help with finding sizes, the attendant offering suggestions based off of what is and is not working, this is for you. I was VERY disappointed with my experience at their Fort Wayne, Indiana location. When I set my appointment, I was inundated with text messages requesting ALL my wedding information, including photos of the venue and a personally written synopsis of what I was wanting/looking for/my personality. Don't waste your time. I sent pics of our backyard and stated more than once that it is a low-key wedding and that my budget was $300. The ONE dress that my attendant brought me was glam to the hilt and over $700! Also, I know you can't control the prom crowd there shopping, but maybe set them aside from the brides? My 70 year old mother had to sit on the floor waiting for me to come out, and I was overrun by teenagers trying on prom dresses the entire time. I could not get out of that store fast enough.

I've ordered 2 wedding dresses, 4 MOB andMOG dresses, 2 flower girl dresses, save the date and rehearsal dresses, as well as 4 Bridesmaids dresses. My moms dress was sent to wrong location no notice, my save the date dress had sensor tags still, my moms replacement dress had a sensor still and a small hole near the sensor, the lady for 2 of my appointments was completely rude, there was no discount of steaming done to my dress when I bought it off rack, now a month and a half from my wedding they called to change my fitting date to a month before my wedding. This is not just a fitting I have more alterations that need to be done which what leaves me getting my dress a week before the wedding?! What bride is ok with that?!?!?! Very disappointed with almost every experience I've had.

As someone who used to work at David's Bridal, I did used to love it, maybe for about a month. And then you realize that you barely get paid anything, when I worked there we were still getting commissions, but to even qualify to earn commissions, you had to reach a certain number of productivity, which if you didn't work during only the extremely busy hours, no matter how hard you worked or busted your $#*! making sales, it was EXTREMELY difficult to earn commissions. Then they switched over to a bonus program, which in hindsight, I'm pretty sure they did this to save money because a couple months later the news broke that David's filed for Chapter 11, but made it seem like we as employees would get paid more, but the bonuses are even more difficult to reach. Since working there, I still am in contact with some of the friends I made, and it is an extremely toxic work environment, and there is at least 1 person (a MANAGER) at my old location that I know for a fact is showing inappropriate photos to their co-workers, and does not care about her job in the slightest. While I was working at David's I had a 401k account set up, and I received a letter a couple weeks ago informing me that I need to transfer that money to a new account or I might lose it. So I've been trying to log into that ADP account, and for whatever reason I can't and when I request new password, I am directed to contact my previous employer as they would have my log in information. I go onto David's Bridal website and I can't find an email or anything, so I use the text phone number, something is seriously wrong with the customer service David's offers, as someone who isn't even a customer, why did I feel like the person texting me was being rude for no reason. She also gave me HR contact information for someone who doesn't even work there anymore, since MAY - this is mid-August, so that person hasn't been at David's Bridal for over 3 months and you are still giving out their contact information? Then when I finally get an email back from HR, it is an automated response and within that, it has listed if you have issues logging into your 401k account, to contact ADP. Like, are you kidding? I'm only contacting you because ADP can not help me. So now I have to email HR again and hopefully they will actually help me. I barely made any money while working there, I'm not going to lose the money I earned in my retirement account just because your customer service is $#*! and apparently no one knows how to read an email and respond accordingly, it's like every single person that works at David's Bridal doesn't care about their jobs. If that is the case, than get a new one.

Made a 2nd appointment for alterations, realized that what was discussed was not done despite being charged for alterations. In fact, instead of doing what was agreed upon, they chose to cover up the actual stitching needed by sticking a flower where the alterations was supposed to be. When I called the manager to let her know that someone on her team was being dishonest and was doing shoddy work. She never apologized or offered a refund. She wasn't genuinely concerned or that it even happened. Really disappointing that a store manager wasn't able to conduct herself in a professional manner with integrity and care. It was an easily rectifiable situation but a manager that doesn't care says it all.

I am beyond upset this this company. The first dress I bought was ordered in brand new from the factory. When it arrived there were so many defects. It had things missing was was coming apart at the seems before I could even get it out of the bag! With that being the case I did not feel good about the quality I was receiving but I could not get my money back and go else wear because "it was past 7 days of purchase" which is completely out of my control, because I had to order the dress. So after expressing my concern and not being able to get my money back, I found a different dress that would hopefully be of better quality and I did... but when it came time to order the dress the store associated insisted that I order 2 sizes up from the size I had on in the store... when I got this second dress in and put it on it was WAY to big! I called the store and informed them of how big it was and they said to come in and see the alterations department so I did. I expressed at that very moment that I wanted to order the right size but they pretty much told me they were not going to do that and they would just alter the dress to fit. With my hands tied and having to trust these people I went for not one but two alterations appointments and each time I expressed that I was not happy with how the dress looked. The alterations completely changed the shape of the top of the dress. My dress was taken in 4.5 inches on each side for a total of 9 inches taken in on the dress because it was 9 inches too big and was ordered in the wrong size per your staff. I went back to the store to try and correct the situation and I was told that there would be nothing done but if you want to buy another dress from us I can give you 20% off... I spent hundreds of dollars on my dress and $500 ON ALTERATIONS ALL WITH YOUR COMPANY! This is just wrong... this is my WEDDING dress. This is a big deal and David's Bridal doesn't care and will not rectify the situation.

I went with my mother to look at bridal gowns at DB. I found one I liked. A discountuned a sheath dress with detachable train. Mom took pictures so I could send to dad who lives in a different state. I put it in layaway (I don't recommend this as they will get your gown dirty. Before leaving the store, I watched the sale lady put my dress, train, preservation kit, other accessories in the garmet bag. Three months later when I went to pick up my dress, the staff was suprized I wanted to try it on in the store. After trying my dress on, it was dirty as if someone had worn it, sequences were loose, the preservation kit inside of the bag was damaged, and the garmet bag was dirty. When I asked what happened to my dress, all the staff could tell me was that it must have been part the wet shipment they received. I informed them my dress was bought at this location, not order. They replaced the garmet bag, preseevasion kit, spot cleaned my dress. They never acknowledged their mistake, took responsibility to make it right or offer to reduce the price I paid for my dress. I don't recommend buying from DB because of this.

I went to DB December 2019 as the bride. I had my time slot which allowed for me to try on 5 dresses. I had a couple others I was interested in trying on, however they were so quick to conclude the visit and made me reschedule for another fitting. The dressing rooms were empty across and the bridesmaids asked if they could try on a few dresses however they were told no. The store was not busy. We left. I purchased my wedding gown elsewhere. Then I called DB in June 2020 to discuss bridesmaid dresses, I was told August was plenty of time for delivery in November 2020. I took 1 of my 4 BMs in August, and she picked her dress, only to find out at the register, it wasn't available... then she had THREE dresses to pick from. No others were available. Then my 2nd BM went and had 7 options, perhaps size differences or location. I took my junior BM and they had no options, I looked online, and the dress she wanted was on DB website, so I ordered. My last BM made appointment and picked dress, however we are still waiting for delivery?. For some reason I tried one last time with my mom. I made a 4:30 appointment online. When we arrived the woman told me it was for 530. I pulled email and she INSISTED I was wrong. I showed her email and then she quickly blamed computer system. We had help from the same woman from the first trip, and again She provided my mom with a dress that wasn't available, which we didn't know until she wanted that one and went to pay. I pulled it up on DB website and ordered it, as it was available online! She received it in the mail 4 days later. We are done! It is as if they don't care about brides, or customers because they only have to work with them one time and don't care about future relationship. Awful way to run a business.

Of 4 bridesmaids dresses that were size 6 all 4 were sized differently. Some tighter, some looser. It worked out by exchanging dresses til each bridesmaid had one she could wear. But this appears to be an attempt to make sure alterations will need to be made. Also one of the eyes of the eye hook fastener was sewed on sideways. My impression was cheap knockoff dresses with davids bridal label sewn in.

I went to DB Stratford (London) in October with my mum and 2 BM's. We arrived onetime for our appointment and were told to go upstairs and look at dresses. 10 minutes passed and we had looked at all the dresses and were just standing around in the middle of the floor waiting to be called. 2 members of staff walked straight passed us and went to an older bridal party who were standing around asking if they were ok or needed any help-- they had already been seen. So annoying so I went downstairs to ask what's happening with our appointment. We were then finally called.

Israel looked after us very well and honestly if it wasn't for her I would absolutely hate this store. I wouldn't recommend bringing more than 3 people on a Saturday because it is busy. The set up is nice and still became a nice experience. She helped me try on about 6 dresses and gave me a wild card dress which I loved- and ended up buying. She worked out what I would like by talking to me and getting feedback on each dress from both myself and my party- really amazing skill! I couldn't decide between 2 dresses the manager came over and tried to sell me both- the same woman who cleanly ignored us in the first place when we were waiting. She tried to take over the sale. We left and said we'd book another appointment. I really didn't want to buy anything from her. In hindsight I wish I had just bought the dress from Israel.

Booked a second appointment for end of November called up, booking was easy and the lady was really nice.

On arrival I only wanted to try on 2 dresses- although I knew which one I wanted. I was served by Marssela she brought the dresses put them in the dressing room and left. The dresses are heavy with lace up backs- I didn't know what was happening. 5 minutes later she comes back and I ask her why she isn't helping to put the dresses on and she says that they are not allowed if we don't give permission! Why she just left and said nothing then gave me that lame excuse is beyond me. It was 6.30 so I imagine she was just being lazy after a long day. She puts the dresses on and I decide on a dress. I explain to her that I want a UK size 10 (I'm a 12 now due to some health issues) but am naturally an 8. My wedding is in 10 months so plenty of time to naturally go back to normal. Everything is good we go downstairs and I paid in full for the dress and dress bag (£5). I was told the dress would be here in 8 weeks plus.

Week before Xmas I get an email saying my dress is ready for collection and I must collect within 7 days. I'm shocked as its almost Xmas and the dress is at least a month early! Again called to make an appointment, great service on the phone. Asked if I could come after Xmas as Stratford is not close for me and well, it Xmas and I'm busy. Was told that's not possible and I need to collect the dress. I was fine with this and inconvenience but not an issue.

Attend an evening, after waiting for 20 minutes (they had issues finding my dress, despite me checking this with them on the phone because of how early its arrived) my dress comes out and I'm so excited. That ended when I saw that the dress is a UK size 12. So I explain to the lady on the desk that the size is wrong, it should be a UK 10. She says no check my receipt which has US sizes and says that I ordered a 12- SERIOUSLY. I refused to accept this as I know full well what I wanted and if the sales woman didn't listen and they are hiding behind US sizes that's not my fault. I was told that there is nothing I could do. They called Marssela and she kept insisting that I asked for a 12. She left no notes on the system so because of her laziness and incompetence I'm wrong. I spoke to Tanecna who I think is the downstair manager and showed her photos of my body size just a few months before and years going back explaining that there's no way I would ask for a 12 when it's not my normal size and I'm only this size due to health issues, which are now being managed. Tanecna seemed like she understood and was empathetic. She put the dress on me which fits really well now- BUT this won't fit me on my wedding day 10 months away. I've already gone down to a 10 naturally and I'm now less than 9 months from my big day. Tanecna said that they only exchange if I drop more than 2 dress sizes- there's no way I'm going to be a 6 (nor would I want to be) so I'm screwed. She offered me 50% off accessories and I left taking away a dress that will NOT fit. One of the reasons I chose the dress is because it didn't need any alterations. Well now I'm looking at serious alterations. Its a body fit mermaid dress with big tail so entire top to thigh will need to be taken in. The dress also arrived seriously creased so steaming costs too. They said that they would steam it for free if I get alterations- like I would seriously trust them with alterations when they couldn't even order the dress correctly.

My advice if you go here double check the UK/US size conversions yourself and ensure that they have listened to what you have asked for. Do not pay in full- if they screw it up then you'll be out a deposit but at least you won't have a dress that will cost £100's more to alter to fit when if they had just ordered the correct size alterations wouldn't be needed at all.

What started off as a really good experience with Israel, who was absolutely amazing so helpful and really helped find the perfect dress turned into a horrible and very expensive experience.

I am utterly disappointed the correct solution should have been to apologise for the misunderstanding and reorder the correct size- I have so much time before the weeding - But no, it made more sense to argue with me the paying customer take my money and say theres nothing that can be done. I think they do this so you have to get alterations to increase their revenue and profit margins.

It's understandable why they have so many issues- the service is inconsistent. Tanecna tried to resolve the issue and was lovely really empathetic but only after I had to prove my normal size. Sad that they have a few good people clearly wasting their talents with this company and being let down by lazy, unethical staff.

If you go there, I highly recommend asking for Israel- she is a true talent and has great service.

Such a shame as I had wanted to order 6 BM's dresses and my mum and MiL's dress here but no way I would trust them now. Their failure to rectify a simple issue loss them revenue greater than the cost of my dress- quite stupid really

The staff at my local David's Bridal was friendly enough but the selection was so limited that I only tried on one dress. Everything they had was either too small (I wear a 14 in regular ladies dresses so it's not like I'm a beached whale) or big pouffy ball gowns which do not work for short brides. I was given a very tiny room to try on the one dress I actually liked, unfortunately, that dress was discontinued and no longer available in my size. I left empty handed so I decided to try the website. I didn't have much luck there either. Again I found a great dress only to find out that the dress was not available in my area and could not be shipped to my local store.
