"DO NOT BUY FROM DASCHEAP.COM!
I want to make that abundantly clear. I made the same mistake several other people did who read the ratings for dascheap.com. Sure there were some really bad reviews on there, but overall the score was high so they must be ok. Right? WRONG.
I think the one thing that gets overlooked and I realize I tend to do this as well, is that even though we see cautionary tale reviews saying don't shop here, we figure it was a fluke and can't happen to me. The sign of a good, honest and reputable company is how they handle mistakes. That is the very definition of customer service. Companies don't deserve a gold star across the board for taking someone's money, putting something in a box, and the box arriving to the customer. That should be the expectation!
I will try to summarize my saga with dascheap.com as succintly as possible.
I placed an order for a Playstation 3 Dualshock 3 controller in "Ceramic White". For those not in the know, Ceramic White (the real ones, not counterfeit) are manufactured in Japan and have a different hue than the standard U.S. "classic white" controller.
Dascheap on their website advertised as in stock a "ceramic white" PS3 Dualshock 3 controller. It was listed as ceramic white in their written/text item description, they advertised the standard price of the controller as over $70 dollars (which anyone who knows anything about PS3 controllers knows would not apply to a standard PS3 controllers you can easily find them for $40, full retail is like $50) and lastly and I feel the most damning for dascheap is the item picture they used is of the Japanese ceramic white controller which they conveniently allowed you to zoom in on and see in perfect clarity. 3 major ways to see that this was in fact the japanese real deal ceramic white controller.
This was my first order with dascheap.com and I was leery having read some very negative reviews, but as I mentioned above I wrongly concluded that their rating was good enough so I placed an order anyway.
I receive the package and I find they had sent me a standard U.S. "classic white" controller. I immediately e-mail their "customer service" to explain the entire situation including screenshots of my initial order from their website showing that my order was in fact for a ceramic white controller.

Subject: *******477-267 -- Return
Hey Jeremy,
We do not allow the return of merchandise that was purchased using the "make an offer" system. That being said, we understand your confusion, you have no way of knowing what the UPC code associated with the controller is and we have issued you a return authorization. The controller is the correct item to the item name and UPC code, nowhere does the product description or name say it is a Japanese Controller, the picture is simply an older picture provided by the distributor.
We would like to earn your business, so if you would like to keep the controller, we would like to give you a coupon for $6.88 (the price of shipping.)
If you want to return the controller here's what you need to do:
1) Please log into your Das Cheap! Account and go to Order History.
2) Click on your order number.
3) Click on the "Return Slip" red letters to download the return authorization form, fill it out and ship back the products following the instructions.
Please note, it may take some time before your return is processed. Processing of returns only happens once a week at the end of the week on Friday.
Regards,
Aaron C.

This is where it derails. First off as you can see they are telling me it is my mistake and do not address the 3 clear ways their website described the item in detail, instead they make it sound like oops you dummy you looked at the picture and why would the picture match the item?
Then in their amazing generosity they "let me keep" the wrong item and give me not quite $7 discount on a "future order". Wow! Dascheap really owns their false advertising.
I immediately responded to the above email with this:
Actually if you read my initial email you will see where I point out the the written detail on the item on product details shows the item as "ceramic white" which is a completely separate product altogether.
There was zero confusion on my end as I went by several criteria on your website as follows:
1) clear picture (with zoom in feature) of a ceramic white japanese dualshock controller in legitimate packaging
2) written product description detailing your item as being ceramic white not classic white
3) the "actual" price your item description suggests the controller sells for as being $70+ which a standard classic white controller would never go for in the first place.
--make an offer has nothing whatsoever to do with how your company advertises a product so irrelevant in this context
To keep my business I would recommend rather than passing the buck and inferring that this has something to do with how I placed the order, that you instead admit to sending me a very obviously wrong item per what you advertise and rectify your mistake.
The negative feedback directed toward Das Cheap online all seems to revolve around poor customer service ie not being accountable for mistakes made by your company and solving the problem.
I took a chance on you guys because you had what I deemed to be enough positive feedback to offset some very negative reviews coupled with a very clear item description.
Bottom line you guys did not send me what I paid for that you advertised. Is $50 really worth that much to your company?
Please take a closer look at the order. A $7 shipping coupon is simply insulting.

The reason why I am giving them 1 star and telling every single one of you to avoid doing business with dascheap.com is that they NEVER replied to my follow up email. I sent it to them every single day for a week. I left a phone voice mail and I utilized their send a message on their website. I even sent an email to them ATTN: MANAGER and nothing. Not one follow up response until late in the week good ol' Aaron C. Left a voice mail on my home phone not addressing anything, simply saying hey there Jeremy just wanted to let you know you can RMA the item. That was it. Didn't address anything.
Bottom line dascheap.com is unreliable, they are cheap, they are dishonest, they have zero customer service, and you should avoid at all costs. Do not do business with dascheap.com.
I ended up keeping the controller by the way, because I honestly did not trust them to RMA the controller and return our money. That is such a sad statement to make, but I literally felt that if I sent the controller back to them if I was lucky enough to get my money back it wouldn't be for a very long time. Not worth it, so I kept the wrong item they sent me.
Avoid Dascheap.com like the plague. They are a terrible company.
**edit: Hey guess what I am in the midst of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and check this out from the BBB.ORG website about dascheap.com:

I originally wanted to order a ps3 version of this item:
http://www.dascheap.com/xbox-360-hori-real-arcade-pro-vx-sa-arcade-stick-hrap-vxsa-fight-stick.html
On this page it showed a video for the ps3 version and I incorrectly ordered the item. After i noticed the confirmation page I quickly tried to contact them and cancel my order but there was no page setup to do so, there was no working number to call at that time in which the number was changed to a now automated number that lets you leave a voice mail and asks for an extension. I spoke to someone eventually named "Christian" who identified himself as the customer service manager. Originally after I contacted them they tried to charge me a restocking fee when I had no means of contact to get this resolved. He waived the restocking fee and said he would set me up with an even exchange and to send the item back. I printed out the form and filled it out and when the item arrived I had set up to send it back. It was shown it was received and signed for at their location by a person named Troy:
FedEx Tracking: **************
After this I been calling and contacting them for the past 48 hours and received no reply. It is now Wednesday March 30 2011 and Still No calls about my issue. But they did send me an email asking to review the product that was incorrectly sent to me. And still No service. I would never deal with this company again.
I just received an email and call after writing this:
We're sorry you are upset about this, but the item was JUST received. It hasn't even been processed by an agent yet. It takes on average about 5-7 business days to process an RMA for a return or replacement. The item sent to you was exactly what was showcased on the product page and the add to cart. The video shown is a courtesy to show you the style product/ it's an actual interview. However the page, the invoice and even the URL says XBOX 360. We are doing our best to accommodate you by waiving the fees however this is time it does take to rectify it for you.
--
Then spoke with Christian again and we spoke briefly about the ordeal and indeed they will be sending me the ps3 version waiving all cost and shipping which is the item i originally intended to get. I am happy with the resolution and a bit dismayed at it took elevating it to get it resolved. They did send me the stick but kept telling me they would send only after I edited this review or remove the negative comments. I don't adhere to Blackmail So I'm going to add the rest of the emails here to show everyone else that orders from this company. These are things to be aware of.
Now I received an email from a david and when I spoke to a Christian on the phone and he disavowed any knowledge of that persons existence so was going to disregard any emails from this address. But then he sent me this:
--
Actually he wasn't sure who you were talking about because he does not handle the Reseller Ratings monitoring. Also, just so you know I also happen to be the guy in the video that talks about the PS3 version of the stick. They forwarded your issue up to me because of the confusion you had so they let me know so I can help them rectify it to avoid any future issues like this from happening. I would appreciate since I work so hard to present the products in a positive informative light, that you please totally revise the rating as it still features quite the negative connotations. I'm sorry you got confused, but honestly we make those videos to help people, not to hurt them. As for Christian, he will be seeing your amicable replacement gets out later today/tomorrow.

They did send out the PS3 Stick so i will update this review when it arrives on the condition and quality which I'm 100% sure will be excellent. The only gripe is getting someone on the phone and the underhanded dealings of that of the fees they were trying to charge me before I elevated the issue here and with a complaint to the BBB. There was initially a 20% restocking fee that they were going to charge me when after my first trying to contact them was waived when it was going to be an even exchange. Then they were going to charge me shipping a second time when I wasn't able to reach anyone after my initial order to cancel and change it when it was well within the time that there phone support was operational as there in California and I'm in NYC so therefor there is a 3 hour time difference and my Order shows March 2nd, 2011 at 04:03pm So 3 hours prior would be 1:03PM and Well between there 9am – 5pm Customer Service times. And I wasn't able to reach anyone at all, Instead I got a message after the item had shipped from there customer service department about the restocking fee if I was to send it back. When I tried very much so to stop and cancel the order but due to not being able to get in contact with anyone this is what I was stuck with. I did send it back and as stated above it was received by them. And still they wanted again to hit me with another fee this time wanting me to pay to ship out the original intended item when none of this would have happened if I was able to get in contact with someone to begin with. My experience wasn't as great as I hoped it would be but everyone is different.
But it is alarming just like some of the other reviews here about Dascheap that unless you go the extra mile it's almost impossible to reach a live person. Also there online web chat interface always says it's busy and to keep waiting. As the day in question I had it on and kept clicking continue to wait for about 4 hours before giving up. To the people who had good experiences, I envy you and am glad that things did turn out well. I don't see myself ordering from them again because of this ordeal but others just tread lightly.
Let me just start by saying that I just reviewed this on ResellerRatings, so I am copying and pasting my review from there, but I wanted to post a review on this website because I noticed that there are more negative reviews than positive and the rating for DasCheap needs to be balanced out:
I just received my item from DasCheap, and I have to say that I am EXTREMELY pleased. I did a little research on this site beforehand and the reviews were mixed, but I took a leap of faith because the item I wanted was way too expensive everywhere else or I would've had to wait months to receive it. I must say that I am an avid Amazon shopper as well, so this was a little out of my comfort zone in terms of online shopping. There were red flags all over the site to me, or there seemed to be, but now it just looks as if the entirety of the site is just not up to date constantly, which is no big deal if they're a legitimate business, which they are. I ordered late one night and it shipped the next day, and arrived 6 days later, with a weekend in between those 6 days, so it was really around 4 days, which was right on time. I did worry that my item would not come or not be what I ordered, but my faith was rewarded when it did come, brand new, and well-packaged. I decided to write this review so that others can have confidence when shopping on DasCheap, and also because people normally tend to write reviews after a negative experience rather than a positive one. I paid through PayPal, and it went through perfectly fine. As I indicated, I am very satisfied with my experience with them, and quite happy that my good faith paid off. To anyone whose curious, I ordered the HORI Real Arcade Pro V3 SA arcade stick for the PS3, and it's in pristine condition. Here is the UPS tracking number for the package to anyone who needs proof that it was indeed sent, as well: 1Z05V27X*******697. I highly recommend them to anyone whose interested in purchasing on DasCheap, but not quite sure if they're legitimate, like I was. I will definitely be purchasing from them again if they have another item that catches my attention.
