Second time we used Crutchfield.
Both times we had to search for non-Crutchfield YouTube videos on installation. It would have been tougher without doing that.
Window tinter, auto glass installer and DIY auto radio install YouTubes helped with disassembly of dashboards and door panels without damaging parts. Crutchfield has a few videos but they are incomplete and don't offer tips nor cautions.
Crutchfield included instructions were "remove from package, assemble, install."
So we had to call for assistance as well.
The Crutchfield phone assistance was helpful and friendly. A bit confusing, but we figured it out together. Have a computer with email handy when you call.
Purchased Marantz ND8006 CD player, cables and Panamax line filters. All are working well. Prices are comparable to many other websites. Service was good with online chats. I was not able to speak directly with one of the advisers that returned my e-mail. Busy holidays I suppose. Delivery was as promised (New Years Eve).

I Think the main point is, could I have done better buying somewhere else. Short Answer "NO".
That being said, Car stereo replacement is not for the average joe, so Technical problems are to be expected when you are unexperienced. And the issues I had were with the instructions and accessories for the stereo, Not the master sheet. The Master Sheet was very helpful for getting the Unit out with out tearing anything up.
My issues were minor, But I will lay them out.
-The mounting brackets were plastic
- The mounting brackets called for using the screws that came with the head unit, they were pan head which didnt work real well on plastic
- I thought I could select a display color but its either white or varying colors
- I thought the wiring harness I paid for eliminated soldering wires, While that was not true, it did however make it where I could do my soldering at my work bench instead of in the car, and I didnt have to cut my factory harness out.
All those things are small and pesky, But I am a details kind of guy.
- The biggest problem was a wiring issue that was not clear in any of the instructions, I was left to assume that many of the wires in the harness were not used, and there was a dangling blue wire from the antenna that was not clearly addressed.
I figured it out with a google search, and Crutchfield probably would have helped if I had reached out.
In any case, Its installed, Works great and my wife is happy.

Great products, fast shipping, and overall satisfied, but my car stereo was supposed to come with everything needed to install for free, which is great, however it didn't come with the mount, and came with two trim plates instead.
I would have given it 5+ stars otherwise.
- Can't beat the price!
- The removal instructions were great. I would have taken much longer to figure it out on my own. (The RetroSound Santa Fe factory install instructions were a little more shaky, but that was not a Crutchfield issue.)
- Suggest offering wiring harness splice kit when selling the RetroSound radio. The factory connectors are great, but you still have to connect the specific factory conversion to the generic radio connector.
- I intended to get a pair of speakers for the dash in the 1988 Chevy C3 truck. I bought a pair of RockfordFosgate R1,5" speakers, but the magnet was too big to fit in the whole. I had to buy a pair of Pioneer 4" x 6" to match the original hole and mounting. It would have saved me time and money if the website gave a better, precise selection for the application that I was looking for.
Enjoyed the head and Iva 450 piggy back 8 out of 10 For Install and performance.
Cons are You guessed it access of settings hook-up to parking. Overkill boarder line Hokey!
Install metra dash kit clips are inferior creates a loose fit! Better be creative

Like many folks, I find it hard to hear and understand dialog on a lot of TV shows and movies. The Zvox 200 sound bar/speaker really helps improve the sound quality for a reasonable price. As always, Crutchfield service is excellent.
Hello, up till this week I would have rated 5 stars always! The only problem I have is on damaged goods. I ordered a subwoofer (10in bazooka tube) and upon arrival it was damaged. I talked to gil at customer care and he was wonderful! He got my replacement here in 3 days! The problem was the day after gil call, I got a threatening email saying my card would be charged if damaged goods not returned within 14 days. It seemed like I was trying to steal or fraud in some way, and that was offensive. Maybe wait a week after return order to send threatening email. It makes customer feel dirty. However, on the bright side, I love your company! Always helpful friendly and competitive pricing. I will definitely continue business with you, just thought I'd give a suggestion. First I only ordered the connectors another persons recommendation. The connectors were fine and arrived only one day later than started. I installed them but had trouble with (I guess it is also TP) the remote to run the steering wheel. After several attempts I called Crutchfield. We tried a couple of things and I was shipped a replacement connector. (This also arrived a day later than told).
I hooked up the new one and it did not work. I was told that it was my issue if the new part did not solve the problem. It did not and the higher price that I paid for the steeling wheel to work is just lost.
While the parts seemed to arrive in good order I do not think that I was truly helped. If you by from them it might be different but the price is a little higher. All discounts are based on getting all parts from them so in the long run it will cost more if you do not use them for everything.
I originally had an issue with customer support not responding, however they explained that they never received the email. Possibly it was a website error, but nobody knows for sure what happened. Regardless, once they found out I had never received a response, they contacted me back immediately with an apology and made the issue more than right. So, in this case I have to give them credit for going out of their way to make sure they had a happy customer! Because of this, I will definitely order from Crutchfield again.
Really appreciate how Crutchfield knew the complexities of my Suburban and its Bose speaker system. Saved me a ton of research and headache. Best of all, it worked on the first try. The instructions weren't perfect, but I am happy with the outcome. Simplified my car stereo replacement.
Sometimes the selection of the installation kits for radios can be confusing especially when the site says this product fits in your vehicle, I still like the site and the products offered and will shop here again
Good place to shop, got my speakers on time, one problem is that the instructions are to use the dust covers from the old speakers but it would not fit so I installed it with out the covers.
Over all, great experience. Picking out equipment is easy. It was nice that all of the install great was an available option as well. I got one day air shipping and by damn it here the next day! The speakers themselves are good quality. They have amazing mids and highs, but no bass. My stocks spreakers had way more bass. Hopefully that will change a little when I replace the factory deck.
Install of truck radio went smooth. Had to add shims on 1 side to sit level. Website is great. Makes recommend parts for ease of install.
If you can find a place that does what they do, by all means go for it!
Instructions could be better/more specific and some items could be of better quality, but I haven't found any other place that will make self-installation less of a nightmare.
The speakers are great and the inclusion of wiring adapters was greatly appreciated. The included mounting brackets didn't fit, but aside from that, the install was quick and easy. Should have upgraded years ago.
