“Amazing, don't listen to the other reviews”

First off, CrunchyRoll has SO MANY anime options, ranging from super popular to hardly known. With the hundreds maybe even thousands of anime options, you will never get bored of it. Secondly, people always complain about the plethora of Ads, but that is only in the free version. CrunchyRoll has lots of good premium options with the lowest, and still best being only $7.99 a month! Plus every option has a free 2 week trial to see if you will like it. Additionaly, the quality is quite amazing, and is prioritized. But most of all, the site has over 12 different dubbed languages for some shows, and also hidden, new episodes or season that you wouldn't find on other streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, ect. To top it all off, new episodes on shows are uploaded only 1 hour from the release date in Japan. In conclusion if you are looking for a cheap, fun way to watch all your favorite anime's, CruchyRoll is a great option.

“Horrible returns experience, wont buy from them again.”

I have been trying to return two products I purchased from them for almost 2 months now, I ordered them as a gift, and they were late, but more importantly the recipient wanted something else so I initiated a return in December. I have tried contacting support multiple times by email and have received no response. I reached out via chat and was told it must be escalated and can only be done through email.

While I see a lot of bad reviews just straight-up blasting Crunchyroll, I want to shed a little light on the positives first. It's free to start, but premium is even better, relatively cheap and the wealth of shows is definitely a bright light in the dark when it comes to anime streaming. That said, let's get into the cons. The app on any console is trash. It's rarely updated, crashes constantly and when new episodes release on sundays it's typically down or buffers to infinity. I dig the platform, but if you really want to make your meal ticket(s) happy, fix the $#*!ing app. It's not much to ask.

The app has lots of options for animes but you only get a free couple of episodes before you have to pay. Aswell it is very glitchy and there are adds that take up lots of time.

Crunchyroll is a great place to watch anime and all but there are a little to much ads and there are so much anime shows that requires premium. Also, premium isn't cheap and everything you watch gives you more then 5 ads. I would really like it if Crunchyroll puts less ads and let us watch more shows that don't require premium.

I have been a member of crunchyroll for about a year now and I have to say that it is 50/50 going to be good or bad when you get on it. Sometimes I can watch videos without any buffering and sometimes it takes an hour to watch 20 minutes of content. Even after their big server update there are still issues. Crunchyroll is an okay service but I don't think anybody that works there knows what the f*** they are doing.

The anime itself is great. Great selection in my opinion. But the service sucks horribly. I usually have to keep pressing retry over and over again, maybe it'll work, but usually no. It's annoying especially when I'm zoned in on a show and it messes up. Ugh... very disappointed!

Can't say I like the business practice. The ONLY reasons I haven't gotten a full membership from them are

1. The buffer rate: I'm a free member, but when I go to the forums to speak with their (often quickly responding) staff, I see that Premium members have the same problem. So the commercials aren't such a big deal to me.

2. Hidden fees. I'm not sure if this is still going on, but I once purchased something from them and found myself automatically enrolled on their 2-week free trial. That free trial doesn't cancel itself -- Crunchyroll began to deduct the monthly viewership fee from my account. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't just changed jobs and therefore my direct deposit bank; I could have been sunk with some serious fees if they'd drawn my account down to zero. Thankfully, I've got a Mum I don't mind opening my mail (we're cool like that) and she spotted the account activity. I had to tell my bank that I was receiving an unwanted service, and had them contact the company to let them know they would no longer be paid from my account. I keep a MUCH closer eye on my finances now.

I only watch anime once a month, in order to pace myself. Crunchyroll would be a fantastic service if only the technical issues were fixed -- I'd definitely buy, even if that meant I have to eventually fight to get my account shut down. Oh, and that brings me to

3. Account Shutdown Refusal: This was not my experience. However, I would never want it to be. I usually take reviews with a grain of salt, so to speak, but Crunchyroll seems to have a slight problem with letting go of other people's money. As in, on their forum, there are entire threads dedicated to the sole purpose of getting accounts canceled. Directions like that should be easy to find, but I've seen "How do I shut down my account?" and "How do I cancel my membership?" and "I've canceled my membership, but I'm still being charged!" just enough to keep me uncomfortable.

A TON of potential is there, though. I definitely won't say they're through.

I like crunchyroll but the ads are a problem for people who haven't signed up for membership yet. And so I have to reload up crunchyroll and the same thing happens and sometimes errors occur too. And I think it's not worth it getting a membership either.
