“They keep their promises”

Tim C.
4/6/24

I've been using Crowdtap for several years now. I fill out surveys and they send me gift cards; my favorites are Uber and Burger King, but they offer lots more. I've never had any problem with them. You won't get rich but it's really nice to earn $5 or $10 here and there for surveys that are easy to fill out (and sometimes kind of interesting). If a friend asked me to recommend survey sites, Crowdtap would be in the top 3.

“Account disabled for no reason”

Gloria B.
2/2/24

I signed up for Crowdtap last night and answered surveys for a good while before going to sleep, then woke up to find my account was disabled and no one can give me a reason why. What a waste of time! I've read that this happens a lot with this site, so I'll be sticking with Branded Surveys and YouGov from now on. I've never had a problem with those sites.

Site is good if you want to make a quick buck for doing short surveys and sampling but that is pretty much it. I see from other reviewers that Crowdtap has changed hands not sure if it is true but have noticed when I had a question and got a ticket for it my question went unanswered or ignored. I have posted question or there of on FB and they were deleted not from me. Even went as far to ask a question per FB but threw their message system but was ignored yet again. All in all if a quick buck is what you need is one thing but be prepared to be ignored, account deleted, and questions either removed from FB, or ignored altogether. I added a picture of the pop-up I kept getting before, during and after a did a survey. They could have at least sent an email saying just let it ride out and it will go away on it's own instead of ignoring my emails.

I was really impressed with this site while I was able to use it. You had to put a good amount of work into it to make money and get free items to try. You mostly receive amazon gift cards for every certain amount of points earned by doing actually fun surveys and polls which I liked, and some missions mailed products to your door for you to try and earn more points from. The only problem was that sometimes it took longer than expected to receive a product that I was supposed to review within a few days after receiving, therefore only getting a day or two to try and review a product. Also it sucks to be a user on this site when you have a job and a life outside of sitting at home and being able to complete mission tasks all day, because they will penalize you for not completing a survey about the item you received within the amount of time given. I wish I knew I would be banned for this because you will get banned from the entire site when you get flagged for not finishing the survey, and I feel as though that is a bit much. Also I noticed that a lot of users would just put a few words for the commenting missions where you were told to write multiple sentences and go in depth about a product and it seemed unfair that I, a user who constantly put the best into my reviews once I was able to do them, was banned over people who half $#*! their reviews and do everything quick so they can get what they want. I wish they would have given me more warnings about writing my reviews for the product I received and also given me a bit more time or somehow let them know when I receive my product so they can create a timeline from then for me to complete the mission. With that, however, it is definitely not a scam as while I was a user on it, I earned many $5 amazon gift cards pretty easily as well as full sized and a few sample sized products to try. That's the good thing about this site. So as long as you're super on top of things you will probably enjoy it.

I won't bash the company, because this used to be one of my favorite review sites ever. I've been a tapper for almost 2 years, since the beta testing, and consistently got great sampling missions with good products. I got to give a lot of open-ended feedback about the products and even if I didn't like a product, it didn't seem like I was penalized for it. This made it seem like the company was genuine about getting honest feedback about the products.

But all of the sudden my account got banned without prior flags, notice, or reason. It's my only account, I live within the US, complete my missions on time, and I log on almost daily to complete the questions so that covers the generic response that CrowdTap sends as "reasons for banning." I reread their terms of service and it says that CrowdTap can ban you for "no reason" which probably explains why so many people are complaining that their account got banned suddenly without a personalized explanation or warning. I did notice that it happened when I was getting close to number of points needed for the $15 gift card reward, so maybe they removed me to save the money? I've spent hours in surveys and questions to earn the $10 worth, but I guess they don't consider my effort invested as "quality responses" despite being rewarded less than minimum wage for far more time. The site itself still has some kinks. For example, I did a survey about pets, and when asked which dog food brand I used, I answered "none of the above" since I don't have a dog. I expected the survey to close and remove from my dashboard, but it not only continued to the next question, asking about more about dog food. I kept trying to exit, but there was no way to exit the survey without answering the question. Other times the login site won't load, I can't access a survey that I had started but not completed earlier, or points won't update.

Anyways, who knows what's going on. I sent inquiries about why I was banned to customer service last week and still haven't heard anything. From the reviews and generic CrowdTap responses I've read online, I'm not expecting to get an explanation or hear back at all. Would've been nice to get a flag before banning and a personalized reason for their decision. Thanks for the good time while it lasted, CrowdTap!

I used to like crowdtap for sharing my opinion and earning some bucks in return, but since they upgraded to the new website there have been many issues namely:
- so many bugs in surveys, they tell you to choose multiple options but you can only choose one, or the surveys dont proceed as some message keeps coming, too many bugs to be fixed with the IT department.
- the language and grammar has become worse than before, its so obvious! All the spelling mistakes. Phew!
- you keep answering all these open ended discussions but never get rewarded for them, it just hangs there.
- another thing i miss is seeing the total percentage of people choosing an option.

The pros are:
You can still make points and get rewarded
- the point for each question have been upgraded to 3 from 2.
There are lot of other surveys and discussions with huge number of points available.
Hope they fix the above issues faster to give a better experience to tappers.

Thanks for your feedback, Deana. We are continuing to improve the site and fix issues with surveys, grammar, and response time. Focus Group points do not get awarded to your account right away - only when the discussion closes. Our Support team (support@crowdtap.com) would be happy to confirm if you were awarded any points, and soon you'll be able to check yourself with a Point History!

Don't hesitate to email us or reach out on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram so we can help with any problems. More changes and features are coming to Crowdtap, and we'll be sure to keep you updated along the way!

Update: they are responsive at times. My first account was left disabled so I didnt get my 1000+points at all and so I made a second account instead! And Ive been enjoying some gift cards yay. I was chosen for a review package but hey I didn't receive the kit (revlon foundation) sadly. USPS said they disposed it, it's been like 3 months but I'm still getting updates from USPS saying they're trying to retrieve the items. I say answer the questions truthfully and don't type random letters and you'll be good! Also Don't expect much about free samples as it's not always a sure thing that They'll be delivered...

December 19th, 2022

I began participating on the Crowdtap platform at the end of November, 2022. I am a weary veteran of a LOT of survey sites with the 'war stories' as well as the war wounds from my many hours of peering onto my phone, waiting for the surveys to be released. I remember how powerless I felt when, after I had described my 'ideal vacation' at the beginning of a new survey. I can see the words "in as much detail as you can" that came from the hidden 'Surveyor' who ruled with an iron scepter and could slice through egos, ridicule wisdom and cause the intellect of a Rhodes scholar to cloud with self doubt. I smiled broadly as I described the absolutely perfect 'Golf Holiday' where my daughter and son would accompany me to three shrines if golf in America. This was a fantastic fantasy that I had created especially for and because of the callous way they Surveyor panelists so quickly disqualify both new and experienced surveyors. Whe I related how my kids and I would fly out to the Monterrey Peninsula and drive up the grand entrance to Pebble Beach, then on to Atlanta for a 7:45am tee time at the one and only East Lake Country Club Golf Course. No, I did not I mention anyones score and I ended my story with my fictitious stroll across the 'Amen Corner' at Augusta National Golf Club. Not only did I know all of the destinations in which these courses are located and not just because I had been a golfer for almost thirty years, but I also was a successful, retired hospitality sakes professional with over twenty million dollars in travel/,tourism sales, but I KNEW the details of each city that we would visit. I recited the fantasy as if I were reading the recent travel magazine. I finished with several minutes to spare. I finish typing, raise my eyes to the top of the screen where I'm about to see those 500 points that areSURELY about to be mine. Then I see my window blink and tge the scoreboard appears. The camera pans to my name and the numbers 69 float up to the ceiling while my stomach slides down into my lap. Once again I feel the nervousness and hopelessness. The impotence that taking surveys for rewards gives one. Yes, I DO have PTSD…. Perplexed Terminated Survey Dollars…
One survey…Done One Dollar One Denied.,

It's fun, but it hurts sometimes

Tip for consumers:
I think the site gives a shopper more than enough information and product examples to make informed purchases.

They are biased raising some people's points from 1000 to get a $5 gc to 2000 and then some only got raised to 1500 this is ridiculous it takes me a week to a week and a half to get the one gc not gonna waste a whole month just to see a $5 gc been with them for years now I am done.

Alot of the surveys, polls and questions are easy, but some are very detail oriented and have like six steps to them, and it takes at least two weeks if you're a busy mom, to get to the reward mark and all they give yoy is $5. Thay is so pointless, whay am I gonna do with five bucks, at least 10-15 minimum, and you can't even wait to put all the rewards together, they immediately send it when u reached your points on the wheel. I also don't like with some of the things u have to answr, thay you MUST use a photo... whay if I was at a library? And my phones data is low so it won't let me upload pics... they need to work on this site.

It an ok website, get free samples, can earn gift cards, my only complaint is all the hoops you have to jump get any also how long it takes about a month to earn enough points to get 5 dollars, same with samples there aren't always opportunities and they aren't guaranteed

Thank you for your review, Sherri. It's true that depending on how much time you spend on the site, it may take you more time to earn points to redeem. As you also know, some actions offer more points than others. It's also true that to redeem points for gift cards members must verified their accounts, but that's for the good of the community overall. You can read more about why we do this here: https://support.crowdtap.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2957779-crowdtap-bans-or-denies-verifications-right-before-members-are-able-to-redeem-rewards-

I joined crowdtap a year ago and I do like the samples but you have to sign up fast and be approved to receive each sample. You answer all kinds of questions to earn points which isint to bad but they want you to constantly take pics and post them. They are approved by other members. I just don't feel it's worth it anymore. It takes a long time to get to 1000 points to only earn a $5 gift card.

Crowd tap gives you Amazon gift cards for your opinion. Which is great for as little of time given. But some times you get a bad redeem code that you can not redeem.
