I used craigslist for years: I bought some staff, sold TV, found a job. But I don't understand why there isn't any support
I posted in 3 different areas simple post for my pug puppies just simple contact info no pricing get flagged and removed every single time yet there are people with pictures and $2000 dollar prce tags all over the place this site is BS the puppy mills run rampant on here and flag your post for greed whoever owns this company is seriously screwed up I wont shop or post with Craigslist ever again I hope your site crashes and burns no images because they flagged all attempts to find suitable homes for my babies craigslist blows
Craigslist is pretty good if you want to sell your comics and DVDs. I made successful sales of my Superman comic books and the customer didn't try to haggle for a lower price. If the price is reasonable, you won't deal with difficult customers. Every once in awhile, there's an annoying phone call but it's infrequent. The pets section is toxic, though, so do well enough to avoid.
Scammers, they stole my money, I called severally they didn't pick my calls and I sent them messages through email forty times they never respondedI paid about $2500. 00 for house rent to the owner, just to find out it all a scam. I was lucky to recover it back through an agent I met through a friend, I got back $1000. 00 out of my money, he promised to help with the balance. So if you are a victim like me, message him through this email( admin AT dellj4001ATgmailDOTcom)
If you want to get something second hand or sell it, this is the best venue for accomplishing that. I've sold lots of things that I would have been inclined to throw out, but it seemed like somebody would want them, and they did. Not everything sells, but I'd estimate I've sold 80% of what I've listed. It's not like you're getting top dollar, but for a small effort, you're getting some $ and you're not filling up a landfill. I've bought things as well and gotten what I expected.
Personals are a whole other experience. I thought I was looking for a relationship, but I'm just finding scams for my credit card posing as Age Verification and safe "dating" sites... and hookers, yep hookers, ya read that right. I haven't put up an ad myself, but checking the "Women seeking Men" section, most posts are trying to steal your credit card numbers and some are simply soliciting. If you're looking for love, try elsewhere.
I changed my 1 star to a 3
5 would be perfect or close to in my eyes.
I have some issues with this van and so on.
But the owners did buy back the van.
For that we are greatful to have that taken care of.
I know first hand how hard it is to have a business and hope the best for this family owned business.
Best wishes~

Goods were ordered easily and delivered within the timescale stated, well done. Sent what they had promptly.
Rented a room on mission village drive in San Diego from a guy named George. He wanted $750 a month, which seemed like a good deal for the size of the room. However, in a very short time I realized the house was horrible. Breaker would go out if I used a tiny little space heater (about size of a small toaster) because the heat was never on and the house was freezing. Kitchen was disgusting, had cockroaches, sink didn't work and there was grease stains everywhere. He tried to complain about me making noise because I was sick (literally can't control that). When he has over 25 birds in his garage that make noise all the time. I could go on and on, but overall horrible place to live.
I cannot get any answers from anyone at Craigslist why they continue to remove my legal & ethical ads, an ad I've used for three plus years that is suddenly being removed without explanation. Poor business practice on their part. Equally frustrating, no one to contact at their home office for help. Again, poor business practice
Beware of craisglist, there so many fake seller there who will offer you fake things but luckily i was able to recover back all I lose in craiglist. Please beware, if anyone has similar issue
BEWARE this Craig's List ad from *******@yahoo Listed are two different locations: Catskills & Orlando SAME PHOTOGRAPH - The "owner" does not respond to email sent via CL email.
[Can't upload the photo.]
Used to be great and it's still pretty good for finding things. Their fee to post things now seems to go directly against the reason it was created and shows how greedy organizations become. Like many people with not much money, I will not be selling anything through Craiglist anymore
I've used CL to buy and sell plenty of items at this point. Most people are very flaky, a moderate amount people are decently dependable, and a select few know how make smooth exchanges of goods online. Kind of just the way she roles, but it would be nice if people were taking it more seriously rather than just window shop a lot of the time.
I've browsed for houses to rent a few times and it never seems to work out. Could just be my area though... Housing is tight.
It's important to note that there's a small amount of scams in the housing section*
I've used this website to look for jobs as well and a lot of posts seem to be written without much information or just unprofessionally. The ones that look and sound more professional / informative and articulate are the ones worth looking into of course. And are usually the ones that will get back to you. However, I would recommend using a website like Glassdoor or Indeed for job searches.
Overall, I would say it can be useful. But most of the time it's not.
With a grain of salt (or several grains) I like craigs list - has helped me sell much stuff. However they make no effort to keep scams (esp the ones that offer ways to make money) off. Many scams are obvious to the ones of us who have been around, however some are well baited - - beware
This corporation is committing acts of Copyright, Trademark and Servicemark Infringement. They are also censoring individual political commentary directly. They ban individuals from posting ads despite declaring it open to those who do not violate Terms of Service. When they steal your time, edit your posts which do not violate the TOS, then service your credit card and force refunds, processing fees, depletion of your business credit, etc. they are doing this with the intention of stopping work against their declared policies.
Whatever happened to CL it has become an institution of deception, fraud, unscrupulous business practices and it is in violation of Anti-Trust Laws since it is favoring competition selectively.
Problem is that you find many scammers and fakers on Craigslist.com. Well, same problem in "real life" but still it is not really a safe place. Concept is great, however. The fact that Craigslist has been around forever is also a big plus.
Craigslist used to be a good place to buy and sell. I now prefer Facebook marketplace as you have a better idea who you are dealing with.
I've had my ups and downs more of a mutual agreement on it. I've bought and sold cars and other equipment. Selling is a lot harder then it seems if you sell something that's lets say 50$ lower then retail people will still try to talk you down even if there getting it cheaper then any where else. You have to stand strong and firm on your price. I've had bad phone calls over cars for sell threatening and harmful ones not relating to your product not sure why. I've also had prank calls so its more of a anything can happen situation website.
Tip for consumers:
Be firm about your price and be careful who you choose to sell for also meet at public places for safety.
Use this site very often. The largest classifieds site out there with a lot of local ads posted from individuals. However, there are known cases of unfair people on the site so one needs to be vigilant and check the internet for reviews about the person offering services or products. I always check people on radaris, intelius or peoplefinders prior to reaching out to them.
I assume this one can be positive or negative depending on how lucky you are... Unfortunately the feature that many businesses nowadays have;(
I've been using Craigslist time to time but one thing annoys me for a while: Its layout! Guys, we are in 2017; can't u make it more user friendly huh?
Everyday i must start all over saving apartment rentals... It did not begin this way.
Craigslist has gotten way too scammy. You can not even post an item for sell with out getting a ton of SMS messages from scammers. I find it very frustrating. But they do nothing, they only decide to make it harder for you to post ads. I had a hard time making my ads (For sale by owner- Furniture) go live. They kept getting ghosted.
I do use this site and have made some sales on it. But I did hear some pretty disturbing things that did happen on the site such as murders, scams, theft, and other messed up situations. I never had anything like this happen to me though luckily, but if you do make a deal or perform any kind of business. Take some safety tips which should be obvious.
1. Never put your full address on the site to your home.
2. Type out phone number to home and cell so when you get a call you.
3. Better to be in an area with tons of people such as a restaurant or your home (But makes sure you are armed with either a knife, stungun, pepperspray, taser, or a firearm hidden just in-case,) Never trust anyone for all you know they may be there to rob or kill you so always be armed and prepared.
4. Let your family or friends know if you have someone coming over or going somewhere to do the transaction.
5. Only except cash or a safe transaction to make sure you don't get ripoff.
6. Remain always cautious and calm when meeting up with someone for a deal somewhere.
Also expect $#*!heads on there who will just message to troll or prank you on there.
Too many flagging issue. I tried to post my business ads but that was flagged :| . I don't know. They didn't give me any clear instruction
Watch out for scammers. Never, NEVER send money to anybody using Western Union.
I use craigslist mainly for looking for housing and then furnishing my place. If you are patient and don't mind driving around your area, you can get a lot of good deals on used things.
craigslist provides local classifieds and forums for jobs, housing, for sale, services, local community, and events
