I am writing to complain about the way I was treated at your Fort Myers branch on 10/30/2024.
The cashier, Soraya, hit my merchandise, which was the food that I was going to pay for, brutally battered against the counter.
I waited my turn patiently, I have the right to be treated with respect, and not as if I had bought leftover disposable products.
That meal will be cooked and eaten by my family, we were doing the monthly shopping, we go once or twice up to three times a month and I can show you that we make a respectable investment for your company, or we used to.
I called the manager and he didn't even apologize while Soraya continued mistreating the merchandise, like a bag of stones, the manager Raul offered me to change the cashier line, he said but that the treatment would be the same, I informed him that I did not agree with the service, that that is no way to treat food and that Soraya was not doing a good job and the proof was that Soraya added merchandise to our cart that was not ours.
Raul stopped us when we were leaving because the next customer noticed the mistake.
When the merchandise is on the island and in the car it is Costco items, when I, the customer, pay for it it is mine and I organize it where and how I want, your system is an insult to the food and who eats it, a lack of respect and consideration for the customer, now that their cashiers throw it in the cart and do not allow the customer to put it in their bags, is lack of courtesy, this concept is accepted in the markets because it increased the number of markets and self-checkout, for whatever reasons you want, but that concept is included.
It is also based on the common sense of not putting a bag of potatoes on top of eggs or bananas, the products that need cooler together, that make sense? To you?. I usually bring my own coolers and pack of ice to preserve frozen products.
My husband John witnessed the situation that day, and he was shocked and speechless, my daughter Barbara is the account holder, and I am in charge of the inventory, administration, and purchase of what is necessary, I am a chef, for the house, that is why I personally select what we are going to consume, how and when from which market.
Costco is no longer on my list since I distribute my purchases among other markets where the prices are very good and the service is excellent, Trade Joe, Walmart, Publix, and occasionally Wing's, their cashiers are friendly, they are not possessed like maniacs, the clients are respected since the profits that pay their salaries depend on them, the service standards are excellent, clients enjoy the time necessary to make their purchases and the market even offers to take the merchandise to the car.
Soraya's behavior is not isolated, I am tired of this type of mistreatment at Costco Naples, they do the same thing, the self-checkout has so many barriers that it is even slower, and all the controls that are carried out by the "stealing" customer are a pain. All the rush from the cashier is useless because the "stealing control" slows down after that, Costco as clients we are all suspicious, the experience is disgusting, never count on me, anymore, and I am a person who reads reviews before using a service or making a purchase because others are generous with their time and warn about bad services and in compensation I also do it, that way we all improve the lives of others, it is a small contribution.
This experience was exactly two months ago, but the way they made me feel was so horrible that I couldn't let it go, the least I deserve is an apology and that's Costco's job.
As users, I appreciate the generosity of those who write reviews and help make decisions, let's continue with a very good habit. Happy new year.

I rate Costco 0 if that was a choose. I was humiliated, stereotyped by the cashier and manager. I am very disappointed for the lack of customer service. I had the worse customer experience today at Costco located at Vernon Blvd Astoria NY. I always order online & pay with my Master Card with no problems. I decided to actually shop in-store & after wasting 2 hours looking all over for some of the items(they didn't have everything), i waited on self checkout only to find out they don't take MC in store, but online only. I asked if they would take a personal check, & was told I had to make the line at the cashier & they will need to get a manager to approve it. I made that long line, while waiting, I asked a manager again, will they take a personal check, again they said yes but it will need to be approved. I finally get to the cashier, gave her my membership card & tell her that I'm paying by check & that I know a manager needs to approve it. A manager came over, took my check, my drivers license, my US passport card, my Costco membership card, my phone #, my address. The cashier told him in Spanish "Mira ese cheque no tienes dirección, se ve raro" I'll translate "look that check doesn't have an address, it looks strange". They were surprised when I said in Spanish, "I have nerve had my address printed on any of my checks". They were shocked that I spoke Spanish since my name is not a Spanish name. He then told me he will need to bring it to his boss. 15 minutes later, he comes back n tells me they are not accepting my check because my address is not in the check. I told him, I never have my address printed on none of my checks, all they had to do was confirm it with Chase to see that I have 1000 times more funds in my checking account that the lousy $233.39 that I was spending at Costco. If customer service had a brain, they would have seen my address on my license, in the Costco membership account in their computer system & that a 62 year old lady has never robbed anything in my entire life, never mind a $233.39 worth of fricking grocery's. I will never spend another cent at Costco, not online or in store. I will never recommend Costco to anyone. I am telling all my friends and family of my experience. They do not deserve my business. I wrote all this on their website feedback and I'm sure they will not do anything about it.
On 10/16/2023, I received a Costco's promotion by email ("Spend & Get" Promotion, see picture attached.) According to this promotion, qualified customers (who purchased over $2,500.00 of qualifying items) will receive by email a Costco Digital Shop Card in the amount of $400.00 in 2 to 3 weeks. On the same day, I ordered two qualifying items (a big-screen TV and some meat products) totaling over $2,600.00 and received the items delivered on 10/19/2023.
On 11/15/2023, 4 weeks after the day of the purchase, I emailed Costco.com to follow up on the status of the issuance of the $400.00 Shop Card but received no response. I then tried to call every phone number I could find on Costco website, emails, or in the Internet, but at all those calls I'd never been able to talk to a live agent. Worse, Costco phone systems always redirect you to their online AI "Virtual Assistance" which, in my opinion, has the "I" of a PIG for it is incapable of addressing the specifics.
On or about 11/19/2023, after many hours on the phone I finally was able to speak to a live agent ("Emily") who had no idea what the Costco's Spend & Get promotion was, and forwarded my call to another agent ("Jeannie") who told me it might take up to 6 weeks for the shop card to be issued.
On 12/8/2023, ten weeks after the day of the purchase, I tried to call back the same number (800-xxx-2678) and spoke to another agent ("Carl") who assured me that he will submit a "re-issue" request and I should be receiving the card by email in 2 to 3 business days. ("Carl" also rudely raised his voice with me when I dared to ask him why a "re-issue" but not an "issue" request since I'd never received one in the first place.)
On 1/4/2024, almost 3 months from the day of the purchase, without receiving any response from Costco, I wrote its Corporate Office in Seattle a lengthy letter demanding them to address this issue. As of today 1/16/2024, exactly 3 months from the day I placed my order and despite my many hours on the phone, writing them emails and letter, all the frustration and anger I've experienced, nothing happened. Not even a single word from Costco.
Like many customers of Costco, I took advantage of this promotion simply because it promised a shopping card that should arrive on time for the holidays' shopping season. Frankly, I now see no hope of receiving the card they had promised. I however wanted to let everyone to know that COSTCO WHOLESALE, a respected company as I used to think, chose to SCAM ITS CUSTOMERS LIKE ME FOR JUST A MERE $400.00!
Purchased a refrigerator came it was defective so called Costco had it checked and reordered a new one all that was good... However the nightmare started after that:(
So the replacement fridge was ordered and a delivery date was set to bring the new one and swap it out and take the old one... The did not show up took day off waited and waited no show called and got the apology rescheduled
Happens - Ok so rescheduled they show up drop off the replacement but refuse to take the defective refrigerator
REFUSED! I called but could not get a person in time they were gracious enough to move the defective fridge under my car port out of my way and in a covered area but like said REFUSED to take it back to were ever Costco takes the defective appliances :( I was not happy at all!
I finally got through to a live person and they did not know why they would not & did not pick up the refrigerator that it was on the order as a replacement that it should have been picked up? Said they would look into and get back to me... I called for weeks no reply to when they would be picking it up? Always the same BS... I never heard of such a thing? Weird... Well a month or so goes by no call no emails until finally... I receive a email stating if I did not return the refrigerator I would be charged... WHAT?
Not happy I replied and called and again they said they saw I had called and again could not believe this was occurring and said they would get back to me and would schedule a pick up... Well they scheduled and I took off to be there for them... NO SHOW!
Not happy wasted a whole day waiting on them... so called again and they did not know what happened and said they would reschedule and they did - Finally they picked up the refrigerator... I took pictures of them taking the fridge so no question it had been picked up and returned...:(
Well my husband goes to Costco has a full cart business things and other items gets to the line a FLAG has been placed on the account! Not happy embarrassed time wasted holds up the line people behind not happy manager stated something about a something not returned & paid for etc... He calls me I told him only thing I could think of... I bet its the refrigerator Manager checked further and of course it was. OMG I was upset...:(
They refused to let him purchase the items
We are long time members since opened - HE WAS LIVID - NOT HAPPY :(
I called and got the same run around said would take care of...
So our employees go to purchase items for ur store told cannot use member ship had to leave the items or use their personal cards so our company looses the points
Embarrassing beyond acceptable :( We call again said would take care of it...
So we go to Costco same thing - Manager looks into this time he sees the fridge has been returned at least tells us what to do and lets us buy our items but still long line customers waiting embarrassing we were given a $50.00 chargeback for the inconvenience which does not even begin to correct all the time wasted time lost etc... from the above BS all do to Costco and their inability to doing their JOBS & log things correctly and follow through.
Well its now Christmas months of this BS and anouther employee goes in with our rewards check to buy items for the store Now we have been told all this was ok corrected.
They refused to let him purchase the items on our account so he used his account but they would not let him use our rewards check which expires in a few days now... long lines
Embarrassed NOT AT ALL OK! Enough is Enough!
Now I am writing a review I hope this gets their attention
I a very upset - This is unacceptable and POOR SEVICE
Beyond ok embarrassing, wasted time upsetting humiliating beyond the worst service I have ever encountered... :( So Buyer beware with any appliance purchase with Costco that is all i can say :( :( :(
Shame on you COSTCO :(
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the service I received at the Costco Tire Center in Wheaton, Maryland. On October 23rd, I brought my car to the center for a routine tire rotation, and the outcome was nothing short of a troubling ordeal.
While performing the tire rotation, the technicians at the center found and informed me that a lugnut and a stud on the rear left wheel of my vehicle were damaged. Over the phone, I told them that I only had the tire serviced at their center before so if there were any damages to the wheel, they must have been the fault of the center. They told me to complete a claim form and seek repairs at a different auto shop. After filling in the form, I asked two staff members and got confirmation from them that I could go ahead with the repair and could return to Costco Tire Center with a receipt for reimbursement.
I complied with their instructions, and on October 24th, I had the damaged components fixed by a Firestone shop at a cost of $350. Eager to have this issue resolved, I revisited the Costco Tire Center in Wheaton on October 27th, expecting to have the tires properly rotated and to receive the promised refund for the repair costs.
To my dismay, the staff and the manager at Costco Tire Center attempted to avoid their responsibility and dragged their feet in addressing my concerns. They cited the need to review security camera footage to confirm the agreement made regarding repair and refund, as well as claimed that my case required higher management intervention.
Furthermore, I was informed that another lugnut and stud on the same wheel were found to be in poor condition, and they refused to perform the tire rotation. It's important to note that I had purchased my tires from this same center in September 2022, and they had been exclusively serviced by Costco Tire Center for rotation. The implication is clear: any damage to the lugnuts and studs must have occurred during their previous service visits. This situation is not only exasperating but also erodes the trust I once had in Costco Tire Center in Wheaton.
It's worth mentioning that this is not an isolated incident. In March, the same center caused a similar problem, but at that time, they promptly acknowledged their mistake and refunded me for the repair. While it inconvenienced me, I appreciated their commitment to rectify their error. However, this time, their conduct has been nothing short of evasive, casting doubt on their willingness to uphold the service commitment associated with the tire package I purchased from them.
I strongly urge other customers to carefully reconsider conducting business with this center. My experiences have left me deeply dissatisfied, and it is apparent that they need to address their negligence and stand by their service commitments.

The stuff at Costco is actually more expensive than similar things at other supermarkets when those supermarkets have a sale. But I used to go to Costco because they have some things or brands of things which I couldn't find anywhere else. Recently, however, the bad attitude of one employee made me never want to go to Costco again.
I'm not sure whether this was an employee of Costco or an employee of whatever brand of product he was offering samples for. Anyway, this employee was a Korean guy who was offering two trays of chips with dip - one tray on the right side of the stand (this is the side with the customers standing around talking to each other) and another tray on the left side of the stand (this is the side next to the wall).
That employee offered me a sample. Because of Covid-19 considerations, I did not want to take a sample from the side with all the other customers talking so close to the tray. I didn't want to eat a chip with someone else's spittle on it. So I reached for the other tray, and that employee fiercely slapped my hand away and yelled at me for reaching for that tray. His exact words were: "Don't touch this tray; it's mine!"
Now, as far as I know, if you put two identical trays of samples on the stand and offer the customer to take a sample, either tray is fair game. If you had no intent of offering the other tray, then don't put it on the top layer of the stand. There ARE bottom layers where he could have put that tray if he truly meant to save it for later or whatever. Either way, I was not at fault in any way for reaching for either of those sample trays. And yet, that employee used physical violence against me by slapping my hand away and humiliated me in front of everyone there by scolding me like a misbehaving child. That is beyond unprofessional.
Furthermore, Costco does not station any employees at the shopping area, so when you have a question or an issue, it's very difficult to find someone to ask or report to. In the past, when I've needed someone to ask about where I might find a particular type of product, I had a very hard time finding anyone. None of the employees in the shopping area offering samples will help you because they are supposedly only responsible for the product for which they are offering samples - nothing else. And when you finally do find an employee elsewhere, they will not walk with you to show you where the product is. They would only point toward the general area and they can't even give the exact aisle where the product should be. It's very hard to find anything at Costco and the employees aren't very helpful. All in all, the impression I got from shopping there - about half a dozen times thus far - is that their employees don't care at all about their customers. I would even say that, if that Korean employee's attitude is any indication, their employees don't treat their customers as people - their employees don't give their customers the consideration or even the respect they deserve as human beings. That might be because of the stress of working there. Maybe they have to work long hours for meager pay - who knows? But whatever the problem is, it's affecting their company culture in such a way as to give their customers the impression that their customers are seen strictly as expendable cash cows. Again, if their employees are disgruntled because they are being treated badly by their employers, then it may be time for Costco upper management to reexamine the way they're treating their employees before more of their employees redirect their disgruntled and/or resentful attitudes toward their employers into mistreating or neglecting their customers.
We signed up to be a Costco member in 2015. I still remember the first time we shopped there. We were overwhelmed by the bag size of the Kirkland Italian meatballs and couldn't leave the store with it and had to return it right away. LoL. Fast forward, we couldn't love all these big bags of frozen blessings aka organic fruits vegetables. No longer scared of the size of the bags. Love the varieties of organic foods esp. Dried fruits, peanut butter, honey, and more! High quality food items we could count on. The return policy makes us feel more brave to try new things. More often we fall in love with what we try and cannot live without, which is a big problem because Costco one day may decide to rotate them out or stop carrying them. We never understand their rhythm of what will be rotated out or discontinued.
Bought an LG washer/dryer tower. Was satisfied with the delivery, installation, and haul away.
Bought an iPhone and switched to Verizon with Costco with a good deal, but not the best because since Nov Verizon's promo is much better. I did ask the sales person at Costco whether the deal would get better during Black Friday and holidays, and he said no.
Not great selections for toddlers and kids shoes, socks, clothes, or underwear. Sam's is way better in this category, but overall value Sam's is 1 star comparing to Costco
We don't like rotisserie chicken, pecan pies, fruit cakes, cookies, bagels, nor muffins. Some of these have die hard fans, but we can't understand why as we have tried them and found them to be pretty bad. Like rotisserie chicken was a mush. No integrity when we bit into the chicken meat, and so it was super weird like eating minced up meat. We love chocolate mousse tuxedo cake and cheesecake. We love that sometimes they source from locals, e.g. when we lived in Midwest we got to eat apple cider donuts from Chicago. Now we live in NorCal we get to eat cookies and cakes from San Francisco. Yum.
Tried the car dealership thingy. Not worth it. No value added. Bought a car with no deal just MSRP.
Tried travel once. The hotel part was a good deal, but the flights were horrible. Took us a day to fly from Midwest to Vegas.
We are not a fan of the line walking out of the warehouse. We've never liked the feeling of being a suspect of shoplifting.
Clothing do have good deals when buy 5 or 10 pieces. Prices vary in warehouse and online. Very hard to keep track and not consistent which way is cheaper.
Everything
Went with Costco to replace my whole central air system (Heatpump + Electric furnace). Here's all the problems we had:
Amateur install, air leak everywhere around the newly installed air exchanger with gaping hole in some parts
Heat-pump's radiator already damaged
Crap and thrash left around my yard (found the water bottle I offered the tech in the bushes where eh worked)
Support beam of my closet sawed off and removed to get the oil tank out without even notifying me
They disassembled the sliding closet door and left around without re-installing them
They left a giant box of unsorted metal thrash, hoses and other garbage in my driveway, and just told me that there was cardboard box to put to recycling. Had to wait two weeks for them to come pick it up after complaining and they seemed surprised that it was bothering me and that I could not just put a giant box of unsorted bit and pieces and sharp metal bit on the side of the road (city don't pick unbagged thrash like that)
They did not install a new evaporation pump and just re-installed my old one that was super old and almost clogged with algae saying that it was not part of their quote for a full system replacement.
They tried to save time and work by using my old AC unit bracket (installed mid 1990's), but the new unit is almost twice the height of the old one and its super ugly now because it almost reach the window that is above it and almost stick out on top of the deck rail.
Costco also changed their promotion for a better one before they charged me and installed the system and I have been fighting with them for a month for them to apply it. Their customer service, which was one of the reason I was buying with them thinking it would be hassle free, is completely terrible. You make a complaint and they tell you they will call you back 2 week later and when they finally do, they don't even review the information you gave them and make you waste time. The first agent didn't even bother callnig me and left me a two lines e-mail basically saying ''We reviewed your purchase and you are nto eligible'' with no information or detaisl whatsoever. He even stopped replying to me when I was getting too bothersome for him and totally ghosted me. Had to call back and wait another two week to get another agent to look at my different complain and they mostly got ignored again. They also seem not to care at all when I complaint to them about the install I had and seem to just ignore the subject when I raised it on 3 different occasion. When I asked if they actually fill anything about install complaint or let anybody know, he said that it would most likely be shared, what does that even mean? Never again!
I recently purchased a VERY large, VERY heavy and VERY expensive 85" 8K TV from Costco. I did so because I trust them, having done a lot of business there over the years and having always had great experiences (obviously unlike a lot of these negative reviews). They also have the BEST warrantees on TVs and always stand behind their products, unlike most other electronics stores.
The TV arrived, via Costco Logistics, and was hung by their outsourced service company HANDY (for which I contracted with Costco when I ordered). The TV was DOA - something had severely damaged the display, but the damage was not visible on the packing carton. I contacted Costco Customer Service and they immediately agreed to exchange it. There were some problems involved with coordination between their Logistics and Handy initially but I contacted their "Escalation Team" for this expensive toy and was blown away by their incredible response and service! I am a Doc and demand competence, just as a point of reference. The Costco team contacted HANDY directly and they coordinated both the delivery of the new set, the removal of the old one and the re-installation of the new one. I was kept in the loop during the entire process and both parties constantly contacted me to make sure that I was on track. When the new set was delivered today (within one week of the initial issue) by Costco Logistics, it was accompanied by two men on the escalation team who had already inspected the set before it left the warehouse and constantly during shipping. The defective set was removed, the new one delivered and then plugged it in to verify that it worked perfectly. Lo and behold, it did, and I'm off to Netflix and popcorn/iced tea on this burner of a day with the most amazing TV I have ever seen. I CANNOT PRAISE COSTCO AND HANDY HIGHLY ENOUGH! If the world ran like the experience, there would be no war, no famine and no insurrection. COSTCO AND HANDY ARE THE BEST.
If you order something like this, be sure that Costco Logistics is on top of things. They're not always focused and coordinated (since deliveries depend upon many steps and often cannot be controlled precisely. BE PATIENT and understanding, especially now when the whole supply chain is messed up. It WILL get better. THIS experience was, in fact, even better than their rotisserie chicken, and I am demanding!
Be patient with shipping via Costco Logistics during this supply chain disruption. It's a lot more complicated than one might think and they don't have huge warehouses everywhere like AMZN.
