I'm not surprised by all the bad reviews about this hospital. Drs uneducated, big egos, & get mad if you question them. It's a circus and there is a rotation of circus clowns that do not read the patient's chart to access the patient. They hit an artery during surgery & the care went downhill from there. Asked to have my father transferred & was told he wasn't stable & that if I wanted to transfer him I would have to find a dr to take him. In other words we will treat him & keep making one mistake after another. My father is suffering in this $#*! hole and nobody there is capable of handling the mistakes that they made & they want to keep running the same tests over & over again as well as do other procedures even though they haven't corrected one issue that was caused by them. We begged them for things we saw my father declining and told them, none of them bothered to notice the symptoms he was experiencing if we didn't point them out they wouldn't have been addressed until they were so bad my father is too weak, hasn't walked since the botched surgery, they did not get him up out of bed, he developed pneumonia & now another infection that has caused delirium and now they want to vent him. Please, please, please, take my advice and avoid this death trap, their own employees say they would not come to this hospital for care, that speaks volumes, & should tell you how horrible the care is hear. Mostly foreigner residents that see patients, I don't want a resident treating my father I want a seasoned dr that knows what they are doing. Forget about a good bedside manner, you won't get it, people who are not from this country do not understand the culture. They come here to make money & live their best life and are destroying the citizens. This hospital has more foreigners working than Americans & it's shameful. I'm not being disrespectful, I'm being honest about what I have witnessed in the 6 weeks my father has been suffering under inadequate care. Go anywhere but this hospital, they are killing people due to the lack of communication, constant rotating door or inexperienced doctors, even the nurses are contracted. I think it's due to the cost of malpractice insurance because I know this hospital has tons of lawsuits against them, why they haven't been shut down is beyond me. My family is lawyering up to put a stop from the horrible care my dad has received. There is so much more that happened & none of it good, but I think you should get the picture. Stay as far away from this place that you can. I'm going to blow Cooper up with bad reviews & won't stop until they fix the problems they have. They should humble themselves & take a look at all the bad reviews & ask why their own employees do want to be treated there? It's because they see the mistakes being made & how they handle them by lying and covering them up. They messed with the wrong one I know every single thing they did & they will not get away with it.
I'd give 0 stars if I could. I spoke with Stephanie from billing inquiring about a bill that I thought had been resolved months ago yet getting letters from a collection company on money we do not owe. My mom is as getting charge $30 for every primary dr visit. However per her insurance policy she doesn't have a co pay for her primary. Went through this whole thing with the insurance company and billing department months ago. Thought it had been resolved. She said they had no record of this and wanted to know when and who I spoke to. I didn't have my notes on hand nor should I have to. She said she had other "calls" to take and couldn't help me. Like if I didnt have a date and name it never happened and I wasn't going to be helped. That is irrelevant. Let's fix the issue once again shall we? However, she wasn't even listening to the issue. I asked to speak to someone that could help with this call. Gave me a whole run around about speaking to a supervisor. Put me on hold numerous times with a variety of excuses. Finally, she was on the phone. I said I would wait. After playing this pathetic run around of not letting me speak to someone who could help, she put me on the phone with Jennifer who was just hostile and terribly unprofessional. Her customer service skills were lacking to say the least. Truly obstinate and unhelpful. Again, instead of looking into the issue at hand was focused on me not knowing off hand the date and who I spoke to in the past. No record of it. I'm sure my insurance company has a record of it and I know I have it all written down somewhere. However, that's not even what's important. They didn't want to look into the issue. Just rude with an attitude to the very end of the conversation trying to get help. I finally said, "I'll just wait for the supervisor," because clearly she had no intention of doing her job. Jennifer ended with. "You do that ma'am." Worst customer service I have ever experienced. It really shouldn't be this hard. When you have people that can't listen to your situation and just have an attitude they are clearly not fit for this job. We need people in these positions that are good communicators and want to help patients with their billing issues. These ladies need to go work for Ez-Pass.
I scheduled a cardiac mri 7/8.the patient registration valet are very nice, the people at the desk in the waiting area very nice the techs doing the MRI are nice. They tried getting a vein for the needle to put the dye in during the test, my veins are tough they got the are she tried unable, the iv team was unable to come and help they were all backed up.on problem had to reschedule for 7/22 the iv team got the needle in for the iv dye, had the test done, l thanked everyone never met the Dr that had to do the test. L got a call from copper to say l had to schedule a test to be redone with the iv team to come again! To find out the Dr that did my test called my Dr that the test was not done right.the person that called me made the appointment for 8/*******@10:30am, so here l go coming up for the 3rd time not my fault for the one and only test ordered. L get to patient registration on the, 17th only to find out their was no appointment for me, no one in x-ray knew l was coming so apparently the person that called me to schedule the appointment never put it in the computer. L go to the Camden campass, so low and behold l have to come back for the 4th time. L called to reschedule the test to find out l need a new script, why when you guys messed the test up and charge my insurance for the do over of the same test? As to say l am not happy to travel one way 30 to45 minutes for the 4th time! L am sure you are a good hospital but it makes me think due l have to come back for a 5th time if this test gets done on the 4thtrip? It will give me second thoughts if l need to be admitted for a procedure or surgery, as it would make me think l would have to come back 4times for that! Thank you for your time.
My name josephine penna iam 76yrs. Old. First i want to explain my situation. I had both my hips and left knee replaced and had pancreatits within 5 yrs. And also had a hernia repair right before my repair. All done at cooper. I loved cooper at 1 time. Not now never. So i had been on opioids for my pains. My family doctor was giving me the opiods i never got them from the streets as they say. I was getting oxicotin percocets fental patches and anything else you cam. N imagine. So i did overdose at the age of 73yrs. The er dr. at a different hosp. Called my family dr. and son my fam. Dr. Wrote me to say i was no onger his patient. I was still having severe pain. His name is dr. joseph sereci marlton nj. Now back to cooper hosp. Ever since what happened to me when go to the er they call me a drug addict i love drugs and these are the drs. Calling me the names. This past sept. 2020 my sister passed away and at that time my right leg was getting swollen and painfull and red. But i had to go to her funeral. So afer her funeral my leg was so big hot red and painfull so i went to cooper er hosp. In camden nj. I waied to se dr. horrible freeze that his name. He looked at me and said im not giving you any drugs on my watch. I was crying in pain he dr. freeze told me to take 2 water pills and i was let to go home with this leg. When i got home my daughters said please mommy go back. So they called the ambulance when they saw my leg they said josephine we have to take you to the closet hosp. I live in cherry hill nj so went to jefferson in ch. When i got there to wonderful female drs. Looked at my leg and said mrs. Penna you have cellulitis and they started me on antibiotics mmediately. I was in jeff. For 5 or 6 days with bags and bags of antibiotics and when leavng i was still on 5 days of the same antibiotics. I never heard of cellulitis but was tild i could have died if left untreated. So when i got better i wrote to coopers pres. Dr. Mazzeralli. I got an apolize letter from patient realations. So i wrote again this time an another apolize letter from the er dr. love. He told me to call him so i did. He said that dr. freeze was a great dr. and he many patients to take care at the er. I said are you crazy i could have died. He said please next time you need the er please call for him dr. love plus he made a joke of his name. I said take your mother to dr. freeze and he hung up. Well i wrote another letter to dr. mazzarelli and i gi=ot another apolize letter and please this will not happen again at the er. I do sffer with severe back pain and without any kind of pain meds. When the opiod problems came out i promised my children i would get of opiods so i went off those drugs and was put on suboxone because cooper told me that suboxone woyld help with my pain. Well it never helped with pain so i told dr. schmidt at cooper iam still in pain so he upped the suboxone to 4 8 and half mg. A day for a 75yr. Old woman with 3 bad heart valves. That have to be relaced. See i believed in this dr. too. My children read about suboxone so i stopped take it. And i told dr. scmidt i do not want to take it. That was set. 2020 cooper keeps calling for my apponts and i told them im not taking them anymore. My dauhter just told me i went off suboxone in aaug. 2020 but the dr. was still sending me the presciption. I still have bottles of suboxone. Now dr. schmidt sends ms a pych dr, calling me i talked to him he was nice then he wanted to call me every wed. I never answered his calls then he called me again i told i do not need a pych dr. maybe all the ons who were in the waiting office wg for their suboxone who went to jail for drugs and who were on cout orders or go to jail. I was this old woman in a wheel chair with these young drug addicts full of tatoos all over their bodies and necks.and pregnantyoung girls full of taoos up and sown their legs and arms. And i said what iam i doing here. When i went this past month. Nov. To pain management he said why was i on suboxone for over a year when i could have been weaded off the drugs. He asked if did iv opoiods i said absolutely not. Its all about money and iam on medicare and insurance. They took plenty of insiurance from me. Thank you so much i kow i talk to much but im trying to get it all in. And pleeases arlene and tiffeny from cooper patient realtions please do not leave a message they can not help people with cooper hosp. Drs. They are not even nurses they just answer phones.
I have been going to Cooper for years now. I live in Delaware and am quite disenchanted with Wilmington specialists and Philadelphia is too hard to navigate. I had six cardiac bypasses in 2018 which went well and I am fine so far. Dr. Ginsberg, the cardiologist, has been on top of things before and after. I thought the pain was weather and Fibro, he assured me I had heart problems. They tried stints but too blocked for that. Dr. Ukrainsky, the Endochrinologist, has been excellent if not too innnovative. The ENT, Urologist, and Podiatrist all were lacking. ENT is no longer there and he shouldn't be. He kept saying "you have a deviated septum". Believe he wanted to do surgery. The Urologist was somewhat surprised that my biopsy showed NO cancer. I believe he was in the cutting frame of mind also. The podiatrist said, "no one ever died from a nail fungus". When I was in the hospital for cardiac surgery, they were exceptional. The endo people came to see me several times and the nurses were top rate. Overall, the medical center and its people is worth your time and energy. I agree that communication is NOT their strong suit. I once threatened to go to HR if their endo associates who were dealing with refills and appointments didn't get their act together. You'd be surprised on how quickly things turned around relative to getting a new appointment that I initially canceled due to illness.
The worst thing that happened to me was when being dismissed from the hospital days after cardiac surgery, a young guy, wheeled me down to the door where my wife was going to pick me up, left me standing, somewhat winded and in poor shape. My wife was having trouble getting to the exact door. I walked from one door to the next looking for her. He should not have gone off and left a heart patient on their own until their caregiver arrived. I told this to HR. They wanted to talk with me, but I never got in touch. So in the words for Forrest Gump, "and that's all I have to say about that"...
