“Very useful”

Very useful unbiased reports on their product tests and the findings. Knowing which supplement makers to trust is of crucial importance to me. I also like their informative newsletters about the latest research pertaining to various substances usually available as supplements. Can hardly imagine being without Consumer Lab as an aid now.

All of what they're consolidating is available somewhere else free online, consumer reports is 100% about making money off the less internet-research-Davy consumer they claim to care about. I'm sure a majority of their subscriber base is a bit older. Should be free, paid for by web traffic ads donation etc.

Bronson Vitamin D3 10,000 IU is your top pick for Vitamin D3 and I am very disappointed in your choice.
It is entirely unnecessary for a tablet to contain corn syrup solids, rice extract, potato starch and other fillers.
Also, there's no reason a Vitamin D supplement should contain three types of sweeteners.
Organic or otherwise, health-conscious individuals usually don't consume corn syrup or things like potato starch.

I almost purchased the product based on your recommendation without checking the ingredients list.

Also, it would be nice to have iodine nori products reviewed.
I do appreciate a lot a review on sardines; it shocked me that my favorite brand has so much heavy metals; thank you so much for your review!

Although product tests and reviews may be of value, I get flooded, indeed inundated by endless unnecessary reports. Several attempts to unsubscribes were futile and couldn't find on the website how to cancel membership.

I know this review may look confusing. Explanation: I found their reviews confusing, as in, "One study found this; another found that, and so on and so forth. Also, consumerlab rated lycopene as a legitimate supplement, when in fact, the man who discovered it states that lycopene must be received by eating tomatoes---that if taken as a supplement, it destroyed in the stomach. The GREAT thing about the company is that when I called them for a refund, even AFTER the 30 day refund window had passed, they refunded me IN FULL, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. That is OUTSTANDING.

Hi Elliot. I just read the review you posted about ConsumerLab today. While I'm glad that we were able to help you easily get a refund, I hope that you appreciate that we work very hard to not only report reliable test information from our lab analyses, but to provide reliable clinical information. With regard to lycopene, for example, if you read our Review, we clearly indicate that the evidence for it "is indirect and far from definitive." Many people use lycopene, so we want to be sure they understand its limitations, as well as which products do or don't provide what they claim. We think that's better than not reporting at all on it. I hope that you will reconsider your rating of our site.

Sincerely,

Tod Cooperman, M. D.

I can understand upgrading the website but it has lost its ease of browsing. The overall format is not user friendly.

I suggest revamping the website and in the future survey your customers prior to making major changes.

I wrote to you re: your review of Molekule Air Purifiers. You did not recommend them. You based your review partly on a review done a year ago by Wirecutter, which was refuted by Molekule, who provided compelling and convincing information to negate the Wirecutter review. I communicated with Moleule, I forwarded that info to you to investigate the negative rating based on false assumptions.
You ultimately gave me your stock answer without doing your due diligence and revisiting Moelkule and reviewing all of their pertinent imformation.

Asked you to review a popular fish oil, "Barleans" and I never heard back. This was a while ago. I could never understand why you left out that product as it is very popular around here. Other than that i have been a subscriber for a loong time so that is saying something.

We have tested many Barlean's products over the years and they are included in other reviews on our site (such as our review of flaxseed oil at https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/Black_Currant_Borage_Evening_Primrose_and_Flaxseed_Oils_Sources_of_ALA_and_GLA_Omega-3_and_-6_Fatty_Acids/flaxseed/), but we just didn't happen to include them in our latest fish oil review. Testing is very expensive and involves multiple tests at different laboratories. Unfortunately, we can not test every product that is suggested.

Not as helpful as I had hoped. Some products that I was interested in knowing about were not reviewed.

Hi Dorothy - As there are so many different supplements on the market, we can't test them all, but we do test a good selection of brands from a variety of marketing channels. Our members often end up finding a better supplement, and at lower cost, than what they were initially looking at. We also survey our readers annually for input on which supplements to test, and we consider any suggestions they wish to email.
