Class was very welcoming, comfortable, informative, and safe. The instructor, Rufino Lorenzo, was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining and teaching. I would highly recommend taking the course to anyone looking to get a CCW.
Only thing I would recommend is maybe more class interaction so that the class doesn't seem so long.
I went in the clas as a relatively new gun owner with probably 10 range visits -the thorouness that John delivered his messages with -was a instructor with countless experience and wisdom- I want to thank John Ludwig and his stafffor making a Class a knowledgeable experience for this 68 year old. The online version is based on the amount of time spent "training". The videos that went with the power point presentation didn't play. I read thru the slides and then had to wait an hour before i could move on to the next topic. Because the video is time-based, i had to wait until the non-playing video as done before i could select "next". Overall course length is 4.5 hours, IF you have to watch the videos. If you read thru the power point slides, you get the same information in 20 minutes or less. After you complete the course, they send you an email with your certificates of completion and a note that says to call this number (xxx-xxx-xxxx) to schedule your live fire portion. Ok cool. Call the number, get hung up on. Ok, it happens. Call back, no answer. Call the next day and get put thru to scheduling, get hung up on again. Call back, get put thru to scheduling. Scheduling doesn't answer and says to leave them a voicemail and they will call me back. Well, that didn't happen either. 6 days have now gone by. I called customer service and explained the issue. They said they could help me out. They can schedule me for a live fire in APRIL. APRIL. If i had physically gone to the class, i would have spent 4 hours in class, 4 hours on the range, fingerprints, signatures and done. 1 8-hour day. Instead, i have to wait and additional 2 months to get range time. "If i find a qualified instructor and i do the live fire course, will you refund the money i paid YOU to do the live fire? No, because we can schedule you for a course." EVEN THOUGH ITS 6 WEEKS AWAY. I'm sure they are great if you take their class in front of them, physically present. Their online program, wait times, scheduling issues and not answering phones...I wont waste my time or money with them again.
KC Brown is the BEST instructor that I have come across. He's knowledgeable and interesting to listen to, as well as having a good sense of humor. At first I was dreading having to sit through 18 hrs of class, but I actually looked forward to the 2nd day. The information he gave us is extremely important to know. I would recommend him and this class to anyone that needs to take a concealed carry clas.
From the time of check in to the end of the class, this was a well oiled machine. Great class all around. James gave a wonderful presentation and was filled with knowledge, kept the class engaged and was funny with some of his stories and wit. Dave handled the check-in and process like a champ and was quietly going about his administrative duties. James and Dave, thanks for a wonderful class and it was time well spent.
