God forbid you have an issue that needs customer support with Coinbase...plan to waste enormous amounts of time and lose years off your life from stress and frustration. The platform is nice, the fees are not nice, but the CS / lack of humans...enough that I'm moving my account elsewhere.

Its really amazing to be using coinbase as a wallet,I have invested too much in bitcoins and I was trying to withdraw my funds but it was locked down on some other wallet .i had to contact Ari.matan@ gmx .com to help me recover all my locked and stolen bitcoins. I use coinbase now and am sure if the same thing should repeat it self. I will just consult Ari.

I've lost about 28,500$ trading with this particular binary option broker. Fortunately for me, I stumbled on a forum that advised everyone who has lost money to different kinds of online investment to recover their lost funds by contacting recoverybymingyue at yandex, com To cut the story short, I did as the forum instructed &I was able to recover all the lost funds with the help of Assured Recover, I recommend this recovery service.

Although they advertise that ACH transfers clear through in 4-5 days, Coinbase holds up clearing funds for up to 30 days with no explanation. The fact is that they make millions in interest by holding on to all of our assets. I will be using another exchange for sure.

That is why I recommend everyone to start using cryptoexmart, a US based service but better service worldwide

Used to be very convenient. Recently needed to do a transfer. After spending time on verifying "new login", I enter the details... and am hit with a 3-day clearance interval because it's not a address I sent to before. Unless you verify with ID, that is - the site states. So I go to that page. Turns out that my country is not supported for ID verification. I try to message the support asking if there is any other way to verify. 3 days later I get a response that they **do not offer email support for residents of my country**. My country is not subject of sanctions by US or EU, this is their own choice. I didn't even know that you could offer paid services while outright denying support.

I like their interface, and I was able to buy and sell bitcoin initially. But their verification gets messed up and your funds get stuck in limbo. Definitely don't put in more than you can afford to lose...not because the crypto's may lose value, but because you may not be able to get it back from Coinbase.

Charged me high fees to sell bitcoin, and sold at below the current market price, I am sure they pocketed the difference. My sell transaction was also delayed by 4 days.

I found out that they cancelled my transaction for no good reason, but they they say they'll refund my money in 2-4 days. Ridiculous, but it's better than nothing.
I have another transaction pending. If that comes through, I'll keep them. I have high hopes, though my expectations are low.

I would urge you VERY STRONGLY not to trust coinbase.

Although I am new to bitcoin, I've been in the financial markets my whole life.

Whatever coinbase may have once been, it is not, now. My main bank account website, for example, has never had a glitch or an error....ever. Sometimes it's offline. But not even a small glitch, much less a fundamental error.

In three days on Coinbase. there are many glitches and problems. I've connected my bank account, for example, and bought a few bitcoins. Suddenly, there is an error not allowing me to make purchases, and pop-up screens directing me to send personal information to THIRD PARTY WEBSITES (of the kind that would enable anyone with that information to commit identity theft.)

48 hours ago, the tech person said the problem would be resolved. In 48 hours, no resolution, no word.

Also, somewhere on the site I read that they claim the right to TAKE BITCOINS out of your wallet, themselves, in certain circumstances. THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY, it would therefore seem, from YOUR Wallet.

Or, should I say, "Your" wallet.

My best investments have been based, at least partly, on intuition. And I smell a BIG RAT at Coinbase. Whatever they may have once been, they are no more.

DO NOT TRUST COINBASE, or you will be Mt. Goxed, I promise you. Or be a sheep, don't think for yourself, get fleeced, and then slaughtered. Your choice.

They will urge you to setup and verify your account in order to avoid the lengthy five day wait for your transactions to complete, but even when it is verified you then have to wait another 24 days. All this time you are restricted as to how much you can buy on a given day. See message from Customer Support below. Bottom line, if you want to buy Bitcoin in a hurry, do not waste your time here.

" Tom, I see you have completed all the verification steps necessary for instant buy. Your current limit for instant buy is $100. This limit will increase in 24 days when your first successful purchase reaches its 30 day mark. Your limit will then increase to $1000 instant buy. Unfortunately, there is no way that we can expedite this process so I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. "

I signed up in mid November and had my first transaction go through without a problem...

...but for over three weeks now I cannot get a transaction executed. At first it was a "High Risk" orders issue. - Oddly enough, they took the money from my checking account after cancelling my "High Risk" orders (they must have been a little short over there and needed me to float them a loan). I contacted them but never received a response. About a week later they redeposited the money into my checking account.

So after all that cleared up, I decided to try again... After waiting for 4 days for the order to execute, and then...IT WAS CANCELLED WITHOUT EXPLANATION! -WTF?

So, I have contacted them, again, to try to find out what the problem is but I don't expect to hear back. I now have the joy of waiting to see if they take the money out of my checking account, again!

All in all, it has been nearly a month since I created my account and I have had one small order execute and seven cancelled.

Question:
Answer:

You guys deal with the crooks. They exchange your hard currency to their bitcoins and you loose part of your money because these crooks play with exchange rates. After I sent them $86 to pay for my medicine I found only $72 left on my account there. So, I lost my medicine.

I'd email again. With companies that do not give out their phone number, you need to repeat your request for answers via email. Squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Question:
Answer:

The thing is people generally only write a review if they got cheated. And thus from all the reviews (not just this site) you can tell that they screwed over a lot of people (including me). Let's say that 95% of people have a good experience with the site, what about the remaining 5%. If a company is not loyal to all its customers then that company should not exist, especially a company dealing with money. My advice is, stay away from them. Use localbitcoins to trade and bitgo to store, way better and more secure.

Question:
Answer:

They try to compete with prices of local traders causing them to lose money because of the volatility of bitcoin. To save themselves they go offline, delay transactions, etc and wait for the bitcoin price to turn in their favor before they send you your money. Classic bitcoin company scheme, stay way from them at all cost. Use localbitcoin, way better.
