this website is legal but you could get your hard-earned money TRAPPED because they wouldn't pass your ID verification no matter how many times you've gone through it, this is to stop you from taking money out of your account today they wrote me another email to do the verification for the 5th time and it took them a MONTH to write this

It would take me a book to write about the hassles this company has put me through and to date I still have not recovered my funds. When my phone died and had to be reset, I lost my 2 factor authentication app, when I downloaded it, I needed my key, which I can not remember where I wrote it down. The long and short of it, multiple emails and phone calls and now there is no live phone representative to talk with, they are no longer sending automated emails to my email messages and at the time of getting locked out, I had over 7K in my account. I am at wits end and considering legal action. They are the most non customer oriented company EVER, and when I joined in 2017, They were touted as one of the easiest to do business with. All I get is the runaround, saying we need to make sure you're not a hacker. WTF I have tax documents and everything else to prove I am who I am.

This is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. In May of this year I opened an account with them and purchased $100 worth of Bitcoin. At first I was able to send, receive and withdraw my cryptocurrency with relative ease. Then in July my account was suddenly restricted and I was told that I needed to verify my identity via webcam. I couldn't even withdraw my funds back to my linked bank account. (This was after I had already deposited funds and bought and sold cryptocurrency through them! You would think that a complete verification process would take place when the account is being opened.) I don't have access to a computer with a webcam but eventually I was able to find one and I attempted to take photos of my ID along with a picture of myself holding a paper showing the date but for some reason my pictures were not accepted. Since I no longer had access to that computer I wasn't able to try again. I contacted Coinbase support for assistance and they responded with generic emails then another email stating they had to escalate my issue to a "specialist". After a few weeks of unsuccessfully trying to find an alternative method to verify my identiification I finally got access to another computer with a webcam and this time my pictures were accepted and my account was verified. I thought that I would finally be able to buy and sell crytpo again but I was wrong. When I attempted to deposit funds into my account I received a message stating that I was unable to do so and that I needed to contact support. Once again I emailed them and received the following response: "Coinbase reviewed your account and has determined that you are not eligible to use the Coinbase platform to purchase cryptocurrency or use our deposit services. As such, you are no longer eligible to link any payment methods. We are not able to provide you with any additional information." So I decided to simply withdraw my funds but since I hadn't done so in a while (it's not clear on the website) I asked for instructions on how to send the bitcoin to my cash wallet. It took a few more generic emails over a course of a couple of days just to get an answer. They had even sent me a link with instructions that pertained to to a different question. Fortunately I was finally able to withdraw my remaining funds and I no longer have to deal with them. For several weeks my funds were in limbo with no end in sight. It was incredibly frustrating dealing with this company. Their customer support is basically useless.

Waited over a week to have $10,000 deposited only to find out I'm not eligible to buy. I did nothing wrong and they won't let me purchase. Their customer service sucks and I cannot believe they are ranked number one in crypto Trading. I will never find out why I am an eligible to purchase. They will not tell me. Never use coinbase

Coinbase sucks. They place ridiculously long holds on purchases. If you ever contact customer support, they only reply with policy quotes, they never actually answer questions. Coinbase is just a terrible service.

I recently had this happen, 1 BTC stolen out of my wallet with strong password in place, etc. Coinbase REFUSES to compensate me, for their lack of security, in any way. As soon as it happened, and I reported it to them, they froze my acct immediately. It then took them over 3 WEEKS to get my acct unfrozen, after a lot of effort on my part. With Coinbase, you have to move crypto from their vault to the wallet to be able to transact with it. This takes 2 to 3 days to move from the vault to wallet. So if you are anticipating a short term trade, in the fast moving crypto world, it's necessary to have in their wallet. Now, to recover my acct, I basically have to go thru the acct setup process all over again. What a pain! And of course their phone support sounds like its based somewhere in Central or South America. Many sound like trainees, learning on the job, while their customers are receiving poor customer service. BUYER BEWARE when considering Coinbase. My $60K+ in crypto holdings at Coinbase still inaccessible. As they tell me it will take another 4 to 5 business days to clear up the 2FA problem to start the acct recovery process. Are you kidding me? Everything must to be referred to an "account specialist" who only operates thru email communication - VERY slowly. Prior to this experience, they were OK. But if you can't count on them to compensate you, when they get hacked and you get robbed, it's time to look elsewhere.

After years of experience, buying, selling and exchanging bitcoins. I have finally settled and found the best exchange platform, COINSFIX.COM, all trades are completed fast, they pay directly to your bank without issues of your bank account being blocked. I really recomend this service.

Yes Coinbase stole my money too....This is the worst case of out and out, open to the public to see, theft I have ever seen. I used Coinbase for about a year. Never had any problem, but then I never tried to take any money out. About 45 days ago I tried to take some of my coins out and my account was Immediately locked. I have not been allowed back in my account now for over 48 days.....I've talked to their support but that was a waste of time. Now they have my number blocked and all I get is a message to email support. My total loss will be over $4000....I hope anybody reading this will be warned....Don't use this company.....It is a major scam. Someday I'm sure the CEO Brian Armstrong will be prosecuted....He must be a really bad guy...So many peoples lives have been affected by his greed....STAY AWAY

Coinbase has lately been manipulating how we purchase currencies to THEIR advantage! When I make a deposit to my bank and then try to buy a crypto currency with it, Coinbase will only let me spend a certain amount from my checking account, while letting me spend an unlimited amount with my debit card....WHICH ARE THE SAME FUNDS FROM THE SAME ACCOUNT!! Coinbase makes 3 times as much money when we use our debit cards than from our checking accounts and I believe THIS is their reason for doing so. I've contacted them via phone and email MULTIPLE times but get nowhere. I simply get an email back from them saying "Case Closed" with no explanation, nor do they fix the problem! This is serious manipulation and I believe borders on outright FRAUD!

Just received the coinbase debit card through the post. Only one problem, coinbase won't let me make deposits into my GBP wallet. So can't buy any cryptocurrency without making a fiat deposit first. I will reside this debit card to the history books before I even get to activate it, just as I predict the company behind it will.

Coinbase (CONbase) is unpredictable and a untrustworthy waste of time.

The most prestigious banking relationship in crypto has ended.

Barclays, the London-based global bank, is no longer working with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, industry sources told CoinDesk. And while Coinbase found a replacement in U.K. upstart ClearBank, according to people familiar with the situation, the change has indirectly inconvenienced the exchange's users.

That's because, aside from the cachet of working with a household-name bank, Barclays connected San Francisco-based Coinbase to the U.K. Faster Payments Scheme (FPS), enabling users to instantly withdraw and deposit British pounds at the exchange. The end of the relationship disrupted Coinbase's access to FPS which in turn slowed deposits and withdrawals in GBP for U.K. customers, which now take days to process.

Barclays, ClearBank and Coinbase all declined to comment.

Horrible, my account is level 3 verified which is maxed out verification & they started declining all my cards, now I needed this transaction instantly & I got promoted to attach my bank & it will also be instant well turns out it wasn't it is 10 days for it to process so they falsely advertised, then they limit my account after I already purchased so they added even more days to my wait time but I needed this instantly now there is no point in me waiting 2 weeks to receive the Bitcoin. They refused to cancel the transaction & told me the only option was to wait, do not trust them with your money!

DO NOT USE Coinbase. I deposited my money in a Coinbase account. After I made the deposit, I was informed that I would not be able to access my money for fifteen days. They say this is to prevent fraud.

After the fifteen day waiting period I checked my account to find my money was gone. Coinbase offers no explanation for this no would they take any steps to correct the problem. The only reply I received was one informing me that the case was closed and that no further action would be taken.

When I tried again to get any answers the reply was the same.

This is the most blatantly crooked organization on the mainstream web if you ask me. How they can commit thievery and still call themselves legitimate is beyond me. Next time I'll take my chances on the dark web.

I had bought $200 of BTC and Coinbase said my bank declined for whatever reason. Ok fine, but I look at my bank and it did go through. So my 200 bucks is now on a freaking hold for 2 weeks. To top it off, they're saying I owe them the money now because they claim to have fronted me the money. My account has been disabled until I pay them another $200! They said within 3 days they will start selling off my cryptocurrency to make up for the payment they claim they never got. Although the proof is right there on my bank statement. I've contacted support but suspect they won't resolve this in a timely manner or ever actually.

Buyers BEWARE, horrible customer service, I made an initial buy of 100 eur no problem, approved my account and I was able to buy bitcoin, I decided to make a larger deposit of 1000 eur, and then ALL of the sudden I have to go through the verification process AGAIN, my verification is accepted the SECOND time, but this time I am not eligible to buy on my account, contact customer service multiple times and get an answer after 10 days,

"Coinbase reviewed your account and has determined that you are not eligible to use the Coinbase platform to purchase cryptocurrency or use our deposit services - as such you are not eligible to link a new payment method. We are not able to provide you with any additional information"

THIS IS A HUGE SCAM!

You guys deal with the crooks. They exchange your hard currency to their bitcoins and you loose part of your money because these crooks play with exchange rates. After I sent them $86 to pay for my medicine I found only $72 left on my account there. So, I lost my medicine.

Question:
Answer:

The thing is people generally only write a review if they got cheated. And thus from all the reviews (not just this site) you can tell that they screwed over a lot of people (including me). Let's say that 95% of people have a good experience with the site, what about the remaining 5%. If a company is not loyal to all its customers then that company should not exist, especially a company dealing with money. My advice is, stay away from them. Use localbitcoins to trade and bitgo to store, way better and more secure.

Question:
Answer:

They try to compete with prices of local traders causing them to lose money because of the volatility of bitcoin. To save themselves they go offline, delay transactions, etc and wait for the bitcoin price to turn in their favor before they send you your money. Classic bitcoin company scheme, stay way from them at all cost. Use localbitcoin, way better.
