Claim Your BusinessWe were in Paris in April 2014 and stayed in unit 014 in the Latin Quarter. One word sums up our experience: perfection. The apartment was small, which we expected, but we found it to be clean, well-equipped & in the perfect location (2 blocks from Notre Dame). Our children (9 and 5) took the bedroom and my husband & ai shared the pullout in the living room. My husband's business in France allowed us to arrive a day early. The owner was very helpful with our change of plans and she even met us at arrival and gave us directions via email for taking the train in + which neighborhood restaurants to try. Great neighborhood for meandering- two grocery shops and a pharmacy across the street. This experience with Cobblestay couldn't have been better!
In early Feb. Of 2012, we booked a one bedroom apartment in Paris for May with CobbleStay. In March I discovered that I had cancer and needed surgery which was scheduled for April with radiation in May. We had to cancel our trip. We called the company immediately since we had taken out their insurance. We downloaded the necessary forms, had the doctor complete them and then forwarded them to the insurance company for reimbursement of our deposit since we had cancelled so early. You cannot imagine our shock when we were examining our bank statement in early June and discovered that CobbleStay had charged our credit card for the entire amount of the two weeks in May that we had cancelled in early March. Thinking it must have been a mistake, we called only to be told that this is their usual policy and that the insurance company would be reimbursing us. When we asked that CobbleStay simply remove the charge from our credit card, we were told that was not how their system worked and that reimbursement would come from the insurance company. In fact, it did and pretty promptly, save the charge for the insurance and a small amount of the deposit. However, that still does not change the fct that we were never told we would be charged for the stay in spite of the fact that we cancelled nearly 6 weeks prior to the dates of the reservation (I am sure this lurks in small print somewhere). I would urge anyone using Cobble Stay to be very wary, especially if a trip has to be cancelled. I can also assure you that when we rebook our trip, we will not be using this company as our rental agent in Paris.
