“Fraudulent merchant site! Scammers!”

Patricia O.
2/9/20

I found a set of dishes I wanted at a lower price than most other online merchants. I ordered 2 sets at $39 each and paid through Paypal. I only received a payment confirmation from Paypal and absolutely nothing from the merchant, not even a receipt or shipping information. I didn't think anything of it but suspiciously several weeks on Jan. 30 2020 I received a small package with a small sheet of children's 'Ultraman' stickers. I thought possibly I had accidently ordered them on Ebay or my son had ordered them but checked everything and we hadn't. When I went to look for the status of my dinnerware order on the website clothsoutlet.com, the website was no longer in existence. I checked another website that verifies merchant websites and found that the 'clothsoutlet' website I used was rated highly suspicious and there were numerous accounts of consumers being ripped off having the same experience as me. I went on Paypal and at the time there was no shipping/tracking info for the items I purchased. I proceeded to dispute the transaction and then a couple of days later I received an email that the merchant had added a USPS tracking number that confirmed that I had received the order and Paypal closed the dispute with just that information. Well, the tracking # happened to be for the package of children's stickers I received. Thank goodness, I just didn't toss them or the package. Paypal doesn't make it easy for the consumer to give information disputing transactions. I finally had to go through their Facebook page and I also went through the chat option on their website. I probably have two sets of people working on the escalation but I just wanted to cover all my bases. I provided Paypal with pictures of the package, the tracking # and the stickers I received. I can only hope they side with me. I have always been extra careful and I feel stupid for not checking out this website beforehand but it looked like a legitimate website and it had a Paypal option so I felt protected. I have read that these kinds of fraudulent websites are popular now with scammers. I just hope reporting this will get other people to be very careful when purchasing from websites they don't know

Tip for consumers:
Don't order from them!

Products used:
I didn't use any of the products because I never received the dishes I ordered. Only a pack of childrens stickers. It's a scam website
