I was cancelled on twice by potential transporters before I was able to find someone to complete my requested trip from DC to Seattle. Reasonable price.

She gave me a time frame and even with the snow she made it on time! I loved every part of the process all starting with a picture when she picked her up and tons more along the drive! She gave me an app life360 which showed me how fast she was driving, where she was, and how many times she stopped and for how long she stopped! It was great seeing the progress of the drive with our baby girl!
Best part the driver ended up being a vet tech assistant! We ended up getting special 1:1 care for her! So much better than having your pet with 20 other dogs and wondering if they get potty breaks. Making me feel so good if anything was wrong the puppy was in good hands for an 8 hour drive!

I used Citizenshipper for delivering a large set of moose antlers that I purchased via an out of state ebay seller. Besides being significantly cheaper than the quotes from the post office, UPS or FedEx, the courier ("Purple Pup") hand delivered the item in her own minivan- no concerns of the goons at some warehouse tossing them around and causing damage. The courier was very responsive, very courteous, and right on time. You can't go wrong with this service for those items that don't easily fit in a box!

While I understand this is a 3rd party service, they really did nothing to help us when our shipper basically didn't communicate with us and then threatened to leave our dog where he was! It's not ok to claim to "just be a 3rd party" and allow reckless drivers to hide behind their company. The driver threatened my husband because we had contacted the company mid-service to say we still didn't have our dog. He called my husband a "little $#*!" and wanted to fight him. How do you still employee someone like this? Our dog was covered in feces and our breeder was not happy with the car conditions either!
I will say that I did get a phone call from Shawn McMenamin the Shipping Customer Liaison Manager who seemed concerned and they did an "investigation" but it came down to "While we took both you and the breeder as having a great deal of credibility, we had to weigh that against the track record of the long standing driver and the lack of documentable evidence." Well, why would I waste my time making up a story like this? We have a very busy life and I am taking the time so others don't have to go through this.
One positive that hopefully will come out of this ( thus the 2 stars) is they seem to be now looking into a tracking system for all pets, which they should have already have.
I would say make sure your driver shares a tracker from DAY 1. I would make sure you demand pictures and updates. And I would hold Citizen shipper responsible for tracking their drivers!
CitizenShipper helped me find a company and I got to work with Pam and she was AMAZINGGGG! You can tell she truly loves animals and truly loves her job! From the start before even picking up Bella she was very quick at responding and answering any questions I had. She sent MULTIPLE voice messages and pictures of how Bella was doing, where she was, and how the drive was going. You will NOT regret booking with this company. I can't say enough about Pam truly an amazing individual. SO SO THANKFUL FOR HER!
Citizen shipper is a great company! Because of citizen shipper, I was able to get transport all the way from Ohio to New Jersey for a very reasonable rate! My puppy girl is so cute and so happy!
Great way to safely transport your animals throughout the continental US. Had one incident where the driver was a scammer. Collected money and never transported the animals and went MIA. I received a refund for the CitizenShipper cost, but was pretty much told "sorry, but we can't do anything" about the payment made towards the driver. Not sure how they screen their drivers. All other drivers have been great. The one mishap was a costly one though. Wish they secured drivers better.

I am sincerely sorry you had a bad experience with a driver you found on the platform. We do screen drivers for applicable background checks however, since we do not employ the drivers (thus keeping costs down), we are unable to do complete background checks. Also, if a scammer has not been caught scamming, there would be nothing to find, even if we were able to check fingerprints. We understand that, and we do our best to help customers who find themselves in that situation. To wit: we recommend only using refundable, traceable payments when paying drivers; we have many help articles and a whole team of customer support agents available to provide that knowledge and advice; in cases where the police are involved, we are able to provide the information we have on file so that a case can be made. No one here at CitizenShipper is happy that this happens, but we have put as many safeguards in place which are legal and have the best outcomes in mind. Our Shipper arrived promptly at the time she said she would. The transfer of the dog was quick. Our shipper was nice and polite and told us the approximate time the dog was to be delivered. She sent updates on her location and delivered our dog safe and sound. Her rate was very reasonable. If we ever need a shipper again we will look for her!
This is a wonderful service for finding the best deal when you need to transport pets. We had a wonderful experience with our transporter, and we had plenty of options to choose from.
Out driver arrived to pickup and deliver as promised. Very polite and professional. We were notified at every step of the travel from departure to arrival.
This service made our family move so much less stressful! Flying our two dogs across the country alone was not an option, and traveling with two dogs and two children was far too stressful. Hi Amy, this sounds like a frustrating situation all around. As you probably know the drivers are independent contractors and as such, we have limited control over them. We expect professional levels of service from each one but unfortunately we can’t discipline them without documentation. I read through your interaction with our support department and i see the agents tried really hard to make sure the event was investigated to find out if we had enough proof to make a case. There was not enough proof of negligence on the part of the driver and therefore should we discipline him, there would be legal repercussions. We are working on implementing a plan to put GPS trackers on pets during shipping but making sure we have the best units possible. We do appreciate all customer feedback so that we can make positive changes to the processes and improve outcomes across the board, so thank you for helping us implement good changes.
