A few years ago, I had a leak in attic, that made it so water leaked into my house. I hired Chris C. Owner of Chimnee Cricket. Saw his add in the Holt MI catalog. He had one of his workers redo the outside of my chimney, and was supposed to remove the shingles around it and replace it. He said he would let me pay 2/3 of the money cash, and then the last payment he wanted me to use my credit card. So, I gave him the cash in two payments and then gave him my credit card number and exp. Date etc... My roof still leaked into my house, I called him at least 3 different times complaining and he never returned my calls. I then got my credit card bill and saw a charge from a yacht docking company in Florida. I called them, and they said it was for Chris' yacht docking fee's. I then called the Holt magazine that had him advertised and told them what happened. Then, Chris called me and said he would fix my roof. He came out and put a lot of silicone around the chimney and surrounding shingles. It still leaked, I called him again. He offered me $150 to reimburse for not taking the shingles off. I told him he did not have permission to use my credit card as he did and he was lucking I did not press charges. He probably evades income taxes this way as well. So, be aware of this company.
