*****DECEPTIVE and EXTORT money via fees***********
October 30, 2020

***********DO NOT USE---- DECEPTIVE and EXOTRT FEES***************

If I could give a NEGATIVE score, I would. ONLY way to post is giving one star. This company has been absolutely horrible (DO NOT USE). I purchased 5 tickets to travel to Europe in January 2020. COVID happened and flight cancelled. Insurance purchased would also not assist (SCAM also). Continually had to call company to attempt to receive refund. You would think the company would attempt to email/ call to help, nope... Call taker kept stating waiting on Scandinavian airline (SAS) to approve the refund. I contacted SAS and verified they had authorized the booking company to release the money back, yet Cheapfareguru never called (UNREAL). I contacted Cheap Fare Guru and inquired about the refund. They stated I would have to pay $50 per person to get the refund. I responded, I never agreed to pay anything due to my flight being "CANCELED" by airline- not me. The company demanded to attain my credit card information (including security code) to proceed. I replied I was not comfortable providing my security number of the my credit and would like to verify with credit card company if okay to give out. Credit card company stated it was okay. Called back Cheap Fare Guru and attempted to get refund. New person then stated I would owe $75 per person to proceed with receiving refund. They then sent an email basically attempting to show that they had authorization to complete the transaction and if you refuse, NO REFUND, regardless if airline carrier authorized refund (THEFT). Absolute EXTORTION. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. FRAUD and EXTORTION should be their company logo. Not worth the couple of dollars saved by using them. DO NOT USE...

While booking these flights in January 2020, company never disclosed or warned about its ridiculous FEE scam.

I also looked at prior reviews and responses. Absolutely disgusting for a company to have so many complaints yet the company seems to have some crap excuse rather than having ethics and correcting the problem. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN... and will let everyone I associate with my about my horrible experience. I am still disgusted about this IMMORAL behavior.

Cheapfareguru unfair business practices
May 8, 2020

After cancelling our flight due to COVID-19, we called to rebook as instructed by the airline. I was not able to get in touch with a person for several days. Finally, today I spoke with a person who hung up on me FOUR times. When I finally spoke to another person, she indicated that I would get a call back in four hours. It was 7:15pm at night which means they would call me back at 11:15pm and she acted as if that was perfectly normal. That was unacceptable so I asked her to try to transfer me to a manager or someone that could handle my request. I was transferred to another gentleman who acted like it was no trouble to book the tickets. After a half hour of "give me a few minutes, I am working on your tickets," he finally confirmed that he COULD book the tickets but that I would need to pay an additional $210 per ticket which is about the same amount I paid for the original tickets. He kept saying that the tickets were more expensive when, in fact, the published ticket prices are less than when I originally booked them. He was extremely rude saying that if I didn't want to pay the $210 per ticket, it was my problem and he could just cancel the booking. Of course, I told him that I was not paying them $428 when I could go online and book 2 tickets directly with the airline and pay the same amount. The COVID-19 travel change policy allowed for rebooking with no change fee and only charges for the difference in ticket prices.

I finally called American Airlines who honored my request within 10 minutes of being on the phone with a representative... AND I received a $3 REFUND. THANK YOU AMERICAN AIRLINES FOR ALLEVIATING THIS UNPLEASANT AND STRESSFUL SITUATION. I should have called them in the first place.

DO NOT BOOK WITH CHEAPFAREGURU.COM! They have unfair and unethical business practices in addition to rude customer service.

CheapFareGuru Uses Unconscionable Business Practices
July 13, 2019

These companies are really scum; Eros Tours and Travel Inc. (probably) dba as CheapFareGuru (CFG). 1st screenshot of 07-11-2019 shows a "24 Hours Cancellation" in blue in upper right hand corner. This is a screenshot of my first flight booked to Jackson Hole with CFG. 2nd screenshot today 7-13-2019 is a pretended trial attempt trip to NYC to make a comparison showing a "24 Hours Cancellation". The "24 Hours Cancellation" blue wording is missing today. Please note that there is no explanation of a $50 fee, an *(asterisk) or link explaining what that means. I pointed that out to them when they wanted to charge me $50 for canceling the first flight booked. They didn't care it was posted on CFG web site. I found it using a Google Search not off their web site.

Another thing they do I don't like is it takes from 1 hour to 5 hours to get a receipt. That bothered me a lot. In receiving my receipt for the rebook and all other email from CFG it mentions nothing about the "24 hour cancellation" policy.

In my original booking I misunderstood the Return date and booked the return for September instead of August. So I called to cancel and was going to book the flight again with the correct return dates and times I wanted. They wouldn't let me unless I paid the $50. In our first conversation the foreign speaking (hard to understand) agent reasoned that if it was just a return date problem that could be fixed. Well not only did he "fix" the date he changed the airline from American to United and also the departure and arrival time.

While the corporation will "argue" I agreed to the change. I am saying they had no right to force me to deal with the agent other than cancel the flight, because there was nothing indicating to me the buyer I would be charged a cancellation fee. They violated their offer to me either in error or CFG intentionally tries to get people to book and keep them or keep $50. That's why "24 Hour Cancellation" is no longer on it's current web page.
In the state of Ohio that's considered an unconscionable business practice Ohio Rev. Code § 1345. 01. So aside from this web-site and others I will copy this post too. My next post is to the BBB followed by https://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/Individuals-and-Families/Consumers/File-a-Complaint and...

CFG and Ero Tours and Travel Inc scum."

Tip for consumers:

DON'T - Hindsight shows the BBB in San Jose rated Eros Tours and Travel Inc. (probably) dba as CheapFareGuru with a big fat F.

According to the BBB it's only a 2 person operation.

CROOKS... BEWARE. FRAUDULENT!
June 21, 2015

I booked a flight from lax to London online and received an email from them asking for a photocopy of the front of my Visa card... when I asked why, they told me because it's an international card.In all the years of travelling I've never ever experienced this.
Then I received another email telling me the travel insurance I booked through them had been declined... Extremely strange and couldn't give me a reason as you why.
Unfortunately I had to change my ticket a day before travelling and called them and I know it's had to believe, I was on hold for nearly 4 hours!
I had to speak with someone as I was supposed to be travelling the next day. When I eventually got to speak with someone they put me back on hold another 50 minutes and then I was disconnected.
Eventually when I got through i was told to change my ticket would be $375 when Amercian charges $300, plus any change of fare. I told them I was very flexible with my dates and they said the change of fare would be $600 plus the $375!
I told them online it was showing the same fare I'd originally paid of $1437 and they told me I couldn't get this fare again by changing my ticket I would need to cancel and rebook.
As far as I was concerned this figure of $600 I had no way of checking this!,, Let me rephrase that. It was simply a rip off!
I told them I need to rebook ASAP as I need to travel within 10 days. Only after canceling then they told me I would receive my refund within 2 weeks.
Why they couldn't of told me this before I cancelled knowing I needed this refund to purchase another ticket. Within 15 minutes of getting off the phone to them I received another email stating I would get my refund within4/6 weeks and that this can sometimes be longer!
I tried calling them and hung on for 2 hours and when I eventually got through they were very abrupt and spoke over me not allowing me to speak but when I asked them why I would have to wait so long for my refund the phone went dead!
I've tried calling them many times and given up. I've sent many, many emails and they just never reply.
I since found out the refund was issued by American Airlines within 24 hours of canceling but to there credit card which was a MasterCard as I had paid by visa.
II have also found many, many consumer complaints online about this company on yelp, trip advisor, and under there name cheapfare guru under complaints. There were many consumers experiencing the same as me, and worse. Some not getting there refund 3 months later and there bank dealing with it, as mine also is now.
They also are not members of ASTA and I was told don't they have an office in Plamdale but more then likely based in India somewhere doing business out of some little room somewhere!... there was English was terrible. I have to say it was extremely difficult to understand what they were saying, but there manner was extremely abrupt!
They also go under the name EROS travel... so beware!
Check out all the other complaints and you will see all, I'm saying to be totally true although hard to believe!
The problem really is if you need to change your ticket or cancel then they will totally rip you off, They charge much more then the airlines to change the ticket and will try and get more money for the change of fare which i understand sometimes you have to pay the difference but when online there is no difference then why?

There excuse is you can't purchase this same cheap fare again if you change your ticket, you will have to cancel and rebook.and that's $450 and you be lucky to ever see your refund for the balance, owing!,,
I'll update you if and when I do!
If only I'd checked this company before booking... I'm angry with myself as the warning signs were there. I was totally shocked so see the many other consumers they've ripped off. I just don't understand how they can continue to get away with this!
What I wish them, it's best I don't put into words!

What j wish them I can't put in writing... CROOKS!

UPDATE... was told by Cheapfare guru by email which totally shocked me as they never replied to any of my other emails before... that my refund had been issued on the 22nd June
And to check my account... NO REFUND!
Then I sent them a message on there Facebook page not expecting for anyone to reply. I was told they refund the balance of $987 owing to me after they took $450 which is also a rip off to cancel my ticket, telling me to please check the next day for my refund... that was 5 days ago... NO REFUND!
When I asked who this person was I was writing to on Facebook they didn't reply...
It's all very suspicious... Why can't they call me or I call them?
I've tried calling them but like so many other consumers have mentioned, your put on hold for sometimes hours only to be disconnected.
Another consumer saw my complaint on there Facebook page and emailed me telling me he lost over $1400 as never received his refund and this was nearly a year ago!
Basically there just thieves... DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY THERE FRAUDS!

Tip for consumers:

BEWARE!
