I ordered a ticket for my daughter to fly to Anchorage Alaska to assist with teaching kids about triathlons. Within 10 minutes of booking I get three calls. I returned the call and was told that the price they gave me was going to be almost double. I notified my credit card company of the fraud. I am notifying Delta of the scam they are using to discredit Delta.

I am still in process with CheapBestFares and even if my tickets come through I would NEVER use them again. First off, if you actually think they are in Chicago, I'm positive they're are not. They may have a Chicago address and phone number but come on, they're in India. They shouldn't be allowed to operate and don't use them. Here's what they do, they advertise the best and lowest rate and you can actually book it and appear to get the ticket, but not without them getting more money out of you! I was set off just filling out their form to reserve tickets and should have listened to my intuition. After booking I got an email with a confirmation, saying the reservation was in process. But It just wasn't like any other 3rd party booking, so I googled them and of course there were horrible reviews with some positive ones. Not sure what to think I took the reservation # and went to Delta's flight finder and entered the reservation. It pulled up my reservation and I was even able to pick my seat. I felt a little better and went to bed. But by morning my phone was ringing and I had an email stating I needed to contact them. I called prepared for exactly what they said. The flight I booked was no longer available at the price I booked, all "those seats" were gone, but the same flight was available with different seats at a higher price. I know I'm crazy for not pulling out right then, but I was curious and I know my credit card company would nix anything bad. So since the more expensive seats were still $250 cheaper than what was available through any airline, I said ok. These guys are hilarious. The card we used was in my husbands name. They KEPT calling him all day to validate with him. EVEN after he got mad and validated via my phone, they kept calling until he talked to them on his phone. It was incessant. Who does that? Then after the were finally satisfied they sent me some Docu sign agreement that we would pay. They told us the tickets would come in 24-48 hours as the eticket confirmation takes a while to come from Delta at the discounted rate. I still have not received my etickets. I called today to cancel and they gave me the Delta confirmation #, which I was again able to pull up on Delta and again, book my seats. But guess what, my upgraded seats are in the back of the plane. I'm guessing they have some type of hold but it's probably not legit and I'm waiting to see if they call me back with another "oh those tickets aren't available at that price". I'm pretty positive they hook people in with their price and then do the "it's not available" thing to get you to pay more, but still less than what the airline offers. In the end I'm guessing they keep the upgrade cost and you get whatever you get. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if I get my eticket. I'm told it's guaranteed but since I was able to pull up the initial booking and then I wasn't, I don't think anything is guaranteed, and they're trying to finagle something. There's no way this is completely legit. They do enough just to keep things above water. And what's funny is whenever I call in (4-5x)I get the same person. And I have to hand it to him, he's super calm and tries to assure you of "how they do things" it's the weirdest and sketchiest travel anything I personally have experienced. So, my journey isn't over yet. I may get our tickets, I may not. But if they're not in my email by tomorrow I am canceling and blocking the charge. I can imagine there's a number of ways they play the game to try to keep people on the hook. Even if I get the tickets at the discounted rate…don't do it. It's not worth it. I would rather pay the more expensive price to know it's legit and that is what I may end up doing.
