I am Stephanie and I wrote a review of them on trustpilot and I am sharing the same experience here. Many of their 5 star reviews appear to be fabrications, just like their evaluations of many of the desktops and laptops sent to them. First of all so everyone knows, this place is actually called Hummingbird International, LLC. It is described in their own words as a "recycling center", go on and google their address found on the very bottom of their cashforusedlaptop front facade site and see what google tells you about their address. Which if you look on google this place is described as a "Recycling Center". Also known as an e-waste center. Feel free to read and post your one star reviews here, on google, sitejabber, etc; the 1 star reviews are far more honest about this site than their fake paid for 5 star reviews. I heard about this site and decided as an experiment to send them a 2022 Dell desktop. I wanted to see if their 5 star reviews were accurate and as expected, many of them are bought and paid for, one review here even mentions being solicited to write 5 star reviews for 15 dollars. In fact, after they sent me my check for the pathetic amount of money they were willing to pay, they solicited me for a 5 star review, and offered to pay me that 15 dollars extra, 15 dollars extra they should have just paid me as part of the original payment, which 15 extra would have still been too little. Which if you paid me the amount you listed on your site, I would not have written this review in the first place. So enjoy your 1 star review for your dishonesty and not paying what you said you would because of fabricated condition reasons all designed as a strategy to pay less when you know what you're saying is falsehood. This computer is made by Dell that does not allow warranties to be shifted automatically from one owner to another just by selling it. You have to manually transfer ownership. When I tried to explain this to them, the person I spoke with played dumb like they don't think computer companies have such policies. Which Dell requires a process to move ownership, it is not so simple. It requires you the one selling the computer, to fill out a fairly detailed form online of the company name and all or the name of the person you are selling it to, go on and look up Dell's process if you want an idea. Even emailing proof that it is out of my hands what the company says about their computer warranties, regarding transfer of ownership, they played dumb with me and they will play dumb with you over the phone, and they really do use other random names, just plan on them giving you a random name like the other review mentioned about Jay Smith, Doug etc; if you do decide to waste your time calling them. So their policy is to make it your fault if you sell them any computer from any manufacturer where they cannot use the warranty, which again, as a "recycling center" what do they need a warranty for if they are going to take apart people's computers and take the parts out of them and use them in other computers to sell under false pretenses of recycling anyway? Furthermore, if this is the case, why does the condition of the desktop matter as long as its in one piece and not falling apart? Face the facts and be honest here, your company is going to throw out any laptop or desktop anyway if it is of no use to you to resell, making e-waste anyway and pretending to care about the planet as you claim to reduce e-waste whilst simultaneously causing it, hence my title of E-Waste Hypocrites without Consciences. The computer I sent was out of warranty yes, but it was in like new or flawless condition and I received the same treatment as others here. They invented (read: fabricated and made up reasons) conditions of dents, scratches and their favorite (besides deducting payment for non transferable warranties or for being out of warranty), "signs of use" which unless you are extremely meticulous and wear black nylon work gloves (read: never touch the desktop or laptop you're sending with your bare hands) and clean the laptop screen and keyboard thoroughly, they will use that against you. These swindlers will use even the slightest thing, even something that can be wiped away with a microfiber cloth, to reduce what they pay. They expect perfection from used laptops and desktops and all the electronics they take too, but again, why does an E-WASTE recycling center have such unreasonable condition demands? Even if the intention is reselling what we give you, the blatant lies about condition is unacceptable. If you want a laugh, read their terms and conditions and how they basically expect you to send them new and current laptops, desktops etc; you would be using, and who is to say they will not find flaws (read: invent conditions in their imaginations) in a factory sealed item you send them? These liars and cheats cannot even keep their own story consistent, they reply many times with a message they have sent someone else, like this photo of a message they sent me, referencing a laptop and macbook when I sent them a DELL desktop. The desktop was mine, no one else owned it before me, I bought it new when it was new and it was never locked either.
