CARiD Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with notable strengths in product variety, competitive pricing, and efficient delivery for many orders. Customers appreciate the user-friendly website and the quality of some products, particularly in the automotive parts sector. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to delays in order fulfillment, difficulties with returns, and inconsistent support experiences. Many customers express frustration over prolonged resolution times for issues, which detracts from overall satisfaction. The feedback indicates a need for improved communication and efficiency in addressing customer concerns to enhance the overall service experience.

Tecnical Depravity
August 23, 2015

Ordered 3 body parts for my 2003 Volvo and 2 of 3 were grossly inaccurate... one I was able to return but front grill would not allow for attaching diagonal Volvo emblem which did not need replacing... you will be on phone for average of 30 minutes ON HOLD... people with no technical expertise are whom you deal with... FORGETABOUTIT!

I ordered a wheel in June, two weeks later, they sent me the wrong wheel. It took several days to get a return label, then I had to lug the wheel to ups. They wouldn't send another one until they got it. Several days after they got it, they sent another wheel - another WRONG wheel. When I complained all they wanted was more information from me, I sent them back pictures from their website of what I ordered and what they sent me along with pictures of the actual wheel they sent. They wanted more information. I had to file complaints through the better business bureau and paypal. They misrepresented the information in their complaints. Several weeks after I ordered the wheel and over two weeks after they had the second wrong wheel back I got my refund, but only because paypal forced the refund, they did not willing return my money. When you check the better business bureau on someone always check the number of complaints rather than the rating. They have an A+ rating with over 250 complaints. BBB considers them resolved if the company responds at all. They must pay money for the rating they get because multiple reviews had similar problems.

Poor service
August 17, 2015

Placed an order on 8/1, still ongoing because not only were the wrong items shipped but for the wrong quoted price. Even though I have spoken to someone almost every day since, it is still ongoing, frustrated today and refused to accept any other items because the email today that they were going to ship items was also wrong. Too many wrongs and I have to go to a more trusted site. Steer clear.

I thought I would order through them since the price was so low, it's not. They found every excuse to charge me more money before sending the product I ordered. After a month of waiting nothing had showed up so I emailed asking what happened, one item was back ordered 4 months so they weren't gonna send either part until then. I requested them send the one and they refused. I got tired of arguing with them over the part so I asked for a refund and only got half of my money back and they couldn't give me a reason why. Two months after waiting the taillights finally showed up, one didn't work. I sent them back and got charged another $100 as if it was my fault they didn't work. Still haven't received the replacement part. An order that should have been $300 turned into about $500-$600.

Crooks
August 14, 2015

I ordered 1200, worth of parts, which have not arrived yet that now have been shipped by two different companies and no way of tracking my order. Might be out the money. Time for a lawyer.

This is by and large the absolute WORST aftermarket parts retailer in the nation and online. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous and when it comes to their refund policy they're borderline crooks.
As a first time customer I wanted to give them a try because they have such great prices, (now I know why). I purchased a very expensive hood for my car, they charged a ridiculous price for freight shipping but I went through with it anyways expecting that it'd be an especially good delivery. When it arrived I asked the delivery person to allow me to inspect the merchandise before signing, he refused referencing "company policy to sign upon arrival and before unloading". He left immediately after it was off the truck. It was packaged ridiculously by the way, in multiple unnecessary boxes in lieu of padding, I'm assuming so as to justify the expensive shipping costs. Nevertheless, it's unlikely that it was damaged in transit, as the hood had not only dents, but full on warps and mutations in the mold. The manufacturers are legitimately shipping out faulty products straight from their factories, and it is unquestionable that CARID knows this. They have a seemingly bulletproof system in operation legally voiding all liability once it arrives to the customer.
I called and spoke to multiple people and went through multiple outlets to reach someone significant, explaining my situation, sending pictures as proof, and anything that'd help an honest company help it's patrons with a refund. They offered me a $25 gift certificate. I wish I was kidding.
I'm currently reaching out to fellow attorneys and disgruntled customers, a class action may be in the works. Please contact me if you share my sentiments!

Thanks all.

My first order was a shipping nightmare after paying $18 to ship a small item USPS priority it took weeks to arrive. They offered a gift card to make up. So my "gift" order they charged $7.15 to $12 for each individual item regardless of cost or weight because apparently they all come from different places. The shipping ends up costing more than the product and Even with the gift card cost more than the local auto parts store! Beware the shipping charges are hidden until you purchase.

I have read all the reviews and find it incredible anyone gave more that one star. Most people have serious complaints about the products, shipping and returns. I already listed my complaints and will never deal with them again.

In May I ordered a new steering wheel for my Ford F-150. I had very good experience with the sales agent and was willing to wait the nearly 30 days it took to have the part manufactured and delivered to me. They informed me there was a $150 core charge; I understand core charges, I've got a couple of tractors that I keep running and have had core charges for starters and carburetors. $150 seemed pretty excessive, but since I was going to get the charge back, I went ahead with the order. On June 5, I had the steering wheel installed. I tried calling CariD to get the return authorization but did not reach a person, I left voicemail but it was never returned. I am doing this work in my spare time and it was a couple of weeks before I could try again but had the same results. Life intervened and it was last week before I was able to try again, this time I contacted the sales agent by email who responded saying that the return label would be sent and I could return the core for credit. I later received an email from "Jane Keen" who informed me that 20 days had passed and therefore I was no longer eligible to return the core for credit? What!?, the core is the same today as it was 4 weeks ago. Note: The web site core instructions say NOTHING about a time limit. They also say that CARiD will send you the return label via email -- they never sent the label and were very difficult to contact, that's why it took so much time. When I contacted her again, she replied, "sorry, the manufacturer has refused the return and we won't accept the core". That means that this was not a core charge, it was an additional $150 price added to the wheel charge. Either the manufacturer or CARiD have $150 that they should not have.

My 2000 Honda Odyssey started to leak coolant out of the top of my original overflow tank recently whenever I would shut the engine off. The original cap had developed a crack, so I bought a new one from my local Honda dealer. That did not solve the problem. The leaking continued. Honda wanted around $65 for a new Tank. Ugh!

I searched online & found a great one on CARiD.com, which came in at about one third of the cost of the Honda one, even including shipping. It also arrived earlier than the estimated arrival date.

The new tank fit perfectly into the slot where the old one had been & I happily noticed that the cap was much heavier duty than the original one. So, after installing it easily, I emptied the coolant from the old tank directly into the radiator to top it off & then added enough antifreeze & water to bring the tank up to the bottom minimum line.

I am more than happy to report that I now have a closed loop coolant system again with no leaks or overflow problems! Hooray! It even came with a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. So, I would highly recommend trying this "REPLACE" Brand engine coolant recovery tank from CARiD.com.

Save your time and money - do not bother ordering anything from this company. The ordering part is easy - call them, they answer immediately and you place your order. Days/weeks later you call to check on your order and you will be on hold for HOURS. You email them - no one will respond. The worst customer service in the world. When I placed my order I was informed that my items were in stock. One month later and I still have not received anything. I called almost daily to find out about my order and after being on hold for hours, every customer service rep I spoke to informed me that the items would ship "in 48 hours" - I was told this almost daily! I even emailed them and would you believe - no response! Again, do not waste your time or money with them.

It took me hours to get through to customer service. I then had to take a picture of the broken part. I emailed the picture in to *******@CarID.com and no one could get it. So they put a hold on my credit card for the part and I have to mail the broken part back. All of this for a $60 LED light. Their customer service is terrible!

Beware. If you DO have to call them you will be dealing with off shore (I think) support team. But the on hold music and the IDIOTIC "funny" guy recording is like torture.

Ordered a set of wheels that were said to be in stock. Card was charged, but got a "backorder" email and "Estimated Delivery date" about one month in the future. Turns out that this is just a date they pull out of their $#*! for them to check in with the manufacturer to see if it's available yet. The date is based on NO USEFUL DATA. They are just putting you off for a month.

So.
1) You can't trust that they have stuff in stock
2) You can't trust their deliver estimates
3) If you have to call them, expect a 20 minute on hold experience.

Worst company I have dealt with in a long time.

I have an 97 Acura integra. Ordered the VIS Ballistix body kit. Came scraped scratched and the fiberglass torn. I don't know what car this fit but it's not mine. Front turn signals don't fit. Wrong size hole no support. The rear bumper doesn't fit. Had to cut off exhaust. Probably have to get a new one. Sides do not line up with clips. I'm having to Frankenstein my car to make this fit. If someone came into my shop with this mess is charge $4000 minimum. Not sure if it's Carid or VIS racing but it doesn't even deserve 1star

On June 13th I purchased two strut assemblies from you, both of which were in stock. After you took my payment I was informed that one of the assemblies was back ordered after the one had shipped. I waited a month to find out that I would not be able to get the part until the 28th of August. These were not up grades for my car I needed both of them because my coil springs snapped and my car was not safe to drive. I have been without my car for a month and half now. To anyone reading this, do not depend on this company.
