Zero Stars!
July 16, 2018

I had a promotional Care Credit line, and on a $5000 loan (supposedly interest free for 18 months) I paid $6000. They took me to court for an additional $2200 in interest ON AN INTEREST FREE LOAN! They won, because I couldnt afford a lawyer. Now theyre garnishing my wages $300 a paycheck on an $800 paycheck. This will be 8 paychecks worth. STAY AWAY FROM CARE CREDIT!

I have had CareCredit for many years not using it for promotional medical bills to have 0% financing etc. But in March 2018 they automatically signed me up for a MasterCard WITHOUT MY approval! :( I have contacted them multiple times, been hung up on many times (during transfers from department to department etc). I have been polite with them but they refuse to give me what I am asking for is to close the NEW MasterCard account that I never gave them the OK to. Per one of the reps it's because I have done such good business with them & was approved for a MasterCard. Well I don't want them checking my credit, nor opening a credit card that I don't want or need. This is FRAUD! I am very unhappy with the service I have received trying to get this closed out. I will NEVER recommend them & can't wait till I can pay off what I do owe them & close if for good! Synchrony bank is part of this scam & I will refuse to do any business with them due to the services they are providing.
This is sad as for people whom need to use this type of credit to pay medical bills just to live & we get treated like this. I am a responsible person, I pay my bills on time & pay them off as quick as possible.

Please think twice before opening any type of account with Carecredit or Synchrony bank! (Synchrony bank is used for various types of credit, furniture, medical, retail stores etc... watch out so you don't get scammed too!

I would give zero stars to CareCredit if I could. I currently have the card and have charged two doctor's bills (promotional purchases) and one vet bill (nonpromotional purchase) with this card. Since the vet bill was not a promotional purchase so I paid it off right away... or so I thought. When you have more than one purchase on your account, CareCredit takes your payment and applies it ONLY towards the promotional purchases, which aren't charging interest and they allow you to unknowingly pay interest each month on the non promotional period. They do not have it set up where you can allocate a payment towards one specific charge unless you call them directly to do so but it is very rare they answer or do as asked... rare as in nonexistent. It is now July 2018 and I have been calling them since April 2018 to allocate ALL my payments towards the one that is charging interest, even have it in writing where they told me they would, but they still have not. Since charging the vet bill of $190 in Oct 2017, I've made over $1400 in payments and NONE of them have been applied to this bill, which has accumulated as much interest as the original bill. I fully believe this is a scam company and this is their only way of making money. Consumer BEWARE.

Money grabbers
July 11, 2018

I notified Care Credit via email a week before my payment was due that I would be a day late. My social security check is deposited the second Wednesday of every month. I received nothing but a run around via emai. I made my payment through Care Credit website on the day promised. I did an on line chat. The rep refused to remove my late fee of $27 because the same thing happened less than a year ago. This company tries to squeeze every last dime out of senior citizens. Run the other way. Don't use this card.

THIS IS THE WORST CARD EVER OR COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. I HAD MY CARD FOR 3 YEARS WHICH I USED FOR MY PETS, I MADE MY PAYMENTS ON TIME AND THEY JUST CLOSED THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT NOTICE. WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THEY CHECKED MY CREDIT AND I AM A RISK REALLY! I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE ON A PAYMENT. AND I LIKE TO KNOW WHO GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO CHECK MY CREDIT.
BAD BUSINESS!

I dont even know how what this company does is legal. They add the back interest, which on mine was $700 and now they charge 26.99% interest on top of the interest. Two months later $300 interest so now Im paying interest on 1K of interest. Its a joke. Dont do it!

Do NOT apply for this credit card. What they have done to me is FRAUD! They change my original purchase to something that i does NOT add up to anything. To only tell me that they dont know what happened. Example my promo purchase was $213.52 expires in Aug. Its NOT Aug yet and that same purchase is now $552.79. Same thing happened in June and i did not catch it on time to only had them say that my promo expired and i own them interest. If you have an account. Pay attention to your promo charges. Monkeys can do a better job than their "Managers"

Was than 1 star!
July 2, 2018

I opened my account years ago, used it, paid it off, used it, paid it off. Now I keep the account in case of emergencies like I have today with my dog. Well, come to find out these morons closed my account due to no activity. I have a perfect credit score, but its not perfect because I paid late, missed payments or had a charge off, its perfect because I always paid in time, every time. You closed my account you jackasses. What, because you didnt get your greedy little hands on any money. Well guess what, I always paid with in the promo period so you never got anything from me. Now, Im here at the vets office and need to pay, well, Ill be using a different card as I would not even consider opening another account with you. Heres why my credit is also perfect? I dont open a bunch of new accounts, I dont have credit inquiries on my report. So, I say to you care credit (Synchrony Bank) FU! I would NOT suggest anyone using these dumb morons, opening any account with Synchrony Bank.

So I opened this account a few months ago. Applied for $1500. 00, and was approved. Roughly 7 months later I get a noticed from Experian a few days ago, that Carecredit has REDUCED my line of credit, which HAS HAD A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON MY CREDIT! So I send a message to Carecredit to find out why was the reduction done, being that I PAY MY BILL! Miminal payment is roughly $27/mo, BUT I HAVE AN AUTO PAYMENT OF $150/month. GO FIGURE! I got a reply today stating that due to an inquiry into my credit history, the decision was made to REDUCE my line of credit. Did I mention that I PAY MY BILL ON TIME! So NOT happy, have requested them to close my account when balance is paid, will just use bank card or VISA!

CareCredit is been ripping me off for almost 9 months you make a purchase outside your contract they will accumulate late fees if you don't pay it back plus on top of your monthly payment and you are never notified about this until the late fees accumulate so much your monthly payment starts to change... Do not make any other purchases on top of the one that you applied for the card because you will be paying more money than what you think you are..

Lying and Rip-off
June 20, 2018

The dentist clinic suggested and help me file for financing with CareCredit on April 2017 and promised a no interest until December 2018 for a $6,000 loan, it is June 2018 and Ive been making my monthly payments on time yet all of a sudden I see 3 interests charges totaling $1,700 interest charge! How is that possible that they charge so much and also before the time they promised?

Care Credit afforded me the opportunity to finance some major dental work that I otherwise could not afford upfront. To make a long story short, Care Credit loaned me $6,000 to be paid back in 24 equal installments (interest free). It was tough but I paid them back on time every month (to avoid late fees). I owe a debt of gratitude to Care Credit.

Word of caution though: If you know that you cannot pay your monthly bill in full and do not plan to pay the bill off in full by the deadline, be prepared to pay all the backdated interest.

This company does not care about their customers. My husband and I both had surgery and this company did not even care to hear our plea. I will be paying this balance off and shredding this so called "care" credit card. The two I spoke to were so arrogant and smug. I'm sorry I ever opened up an account with them.

Customer Service is of no use whatsoever. You can't get on the website to find your account without you account number, and you can't get account number unless you have your account number. As soon as i signed up for this to pay for my little dogs vet bill, within a week I got 3 credit alerts and my credit immediately dropped 31pts!. I was told I was over the limit, within the first week of getting the card bc the vet charged the full amount and before a bill was even printed i was Over the Limit and reported to the credit bureau. I tried to call to get my account number so i could pay online, as i wanted to see this account, I was told no, you cant get your account number over the phone... uh they have my FULL SS#, address, phone, DOB and They cant give me my account number. A BUNCH OF BUZZARDS. I am paying these SOBs off and NEVER want to hear this name again! BEWARE! BE VERY AWARE!

This card is a complete scam with outrageous fees, interest rates, and seemingly continuous changes on your bill amount. Customer service is no help. My credit dropped over 60 points since getting this card. Ive never seen anything like it. They are sharks and will do everything they can to get as much money from you as possible and ruin your credit. If you have ANY other option, take it.

I have had a credit card with care credit for 51/2 years no problem until this month. I received a letter stating that my credit limit would drop from 6000. 00 to 2000. 00. I have never missed a payment nor ever been late always paid ahead.

HORRIBLE
May 24, 2018

Worst ever! Literally if theres a good review to care credit its someone who works for them trying to make it look good. This is the worst account to have. Customer service is horrible. Called multiples times and everyone i spoke to had something new and different to say. There were charges being added to my account that if i dont call and ask theyll simply charge me. Charges that didnt show in the current statement, one bill is a certain amount, then the following month was much higher mind you i havent used the card since last year and im signed up for autopay. Couldnt be late fee right? Exactly my point why is the bill higher? Rep said a late fee from last yr august. Couldnt believe what i heard! I really hope people read these reviews and dont open an account. They will ruin your credit score and even though it might seem like its convenient when you cant afford what youre getting at the time, its really not.

Mostly looks like the negative reviews are from people who don't read their contracts before signing. I haven't even used it yet and I know that interest will be backdated if I fail to pay the balance in the promotional period. There is literally no way to remotely claim that this is kept a secret. It's in plain English multiple times when you're signing up. Act like adults and pay your commitments or pay the consequences.
