“Happy Purchaser”

Cathy D.

I've purchased 3 different physical gift cards and have received them within a few days - one for a convenience store, one for a fast food place and one for a casual dining restaurant. They have all been of the value promised with no problem redeeming them. While the discount is not great, I'm happy to save a few dollars on places I frequent. The one I used today was coupled with a $10 off $25 newspaper restaurant coupon. $10 plus $2.50 off - half price total!. Haven't sold any gift cards but purchasing experience has been fine.

BBB has no authority. They are basically another review site. You need to file complaints of this type of fraud with the groups that have teeth, such as the police, FBI for interstate transactions/fraud, Attorney General of the state the business is located. You should also register with the card company when you get the cards as an added security measure.

I had a hard time getting set up with them the first time I bought. Their security measures were over the top so I had to talk to someone on the phone for my order to go through. But since then I have bought LOTS of gift cards and saved a lot of money. The only ones I have had trouble with were Chick fil A cards, because they would flag the card after I used it once, but cardpool refunded what I lost quickly so I had a good customer service experience. If you order a physical card, it will take a week or two to receive. If you order an electronic gift card it takes up to 24 hours but is usually a little quicker than that.

I learned about gift card exchanges earlier this year, while I mostly use Raise and really like them for how fast, new and refined they are. For the more limited selection of common gift cards I use Cardpool since they normally offer bigger discounts.
After verifying my account with them, I've sold 1 gift card and bought 7 with no issues ever. I mostly do the electronic ones and they're delivered quickly, I'm really surprised by all these bad reviews I wonder if I've gotten lucky or if they're mostly good and these folks got unlucky.

I had a 1,000$ home depot giftcatd that i could not use. Cardpool bought my card for 832$, of course I wanted all of it but your not gonna find any place to give you the full ammount. From start to finish it tool 6 days. What bothers me most is that you have to go e them a credit or debit card yet they will only issue you a payment in the form of a check. All in all im happy to get wut I got. Be prepared to wait about a week. Good luck.

**** UPDATE: After a response finally received on Cardpool's Facebook page, they have provided me with links to view/print my cards. One had a zero balance on it, but they did refund my credit card for the amount I paid them. I believe they are trying to make things right and am so thankful for this.

I purchased $420.25 in Lowe's gift cards from them on 12/15/2018. They show these were shipped on my account, but I never received any of the 4 cards purchased. They will not answer emails or phone calls and did not respond to 2 BBB attempts to resolve my complaint. They seem to have no problem stealing people's hard-earned money, and this is not a company you want to deal with.

I urge everyone ripped off by them to file a complaint with your state's attorney general, the BBB, FBI, Federal Trade Commission, Ripoffreport.com, etc. This company needs to be shut down and a class action suit taken against them. Just discovered their FB page today indicating the company was sold in January 2019.

Tip for consumers:
Stay far, far away.

Products used:
Did not use as they never sent the gift cards to me.

~Summary~
Considering some of the terrible reviews for Cardpool.com that I've read, I'd say my first dealings with them went comparatively well. Certain aspects of the process were a little annoying, but overall I was satisfied with the experience. (For the record, I am real customer. I know some of you reading these reviews are worried about fake ones.)

~Pros~
* I received 94.9% of the value of my $172.35 Best Buy gift card, which is the best return I've seen from any gift card exchange service.
* I was not asked any questions nor was I "interviewed" by Cardpool as a first time seller as other reviews might suggest.
* They accepted my physical gift card as an e-gift card, thus saving me the trouble of having to mail it to them.
* Customer service responded to my email within one business day.
* Either a debit or credit card will work when selling to them, unlike Raise which requires a credit card.

~Cons~
* I received my payment six business days later than promised, and it likely would have taken longer had I not sent them an email.
* They support neither direct bank deposit nor Paypal when selling to them, only mailed checks and Amazon gift cards.

Tip for consumers:
If you sold a gift card to them and opted for the Amazon gift card as payment, don't be afraid to send them an email if your payment doesn't arrive when expected. When I asked them why my payment was taking so long, they mentioned an error their Amazon payment system was experiencing and apologized for it. I received my payment shortly after that reply.

I buy and sell at cardpool and have never had problems. When I purchase e-cards they usually arrive in my email the next day. Physical cards take 3 or 4 days. I Haven't had a bad card yet.

When I sell e-cards, the payment is usually mailed within 48 (business) hours, and in my hand 2-3 postal days later (including Sat, excluding Sun). I haven't sold a physical gc so I don't know the timeframe for that.

They tell you on the site what they're willing to pay; you can almost always get more if you're willing to trade it for another card--you get less for cash/check payment.

I only paid $81 for a $100 Children's Place electronic gift card. The code arrived about 12 hours later to my email inbox and I was able to add it to my Children's Place account with no issue for the full $100. I would have given it 5 stars had the gift card code arrived sooner than 12 hours. I am very satisfied and will probably use them again.

As a first time user, I purchased $740.00 worth of electronic REI gift cards for $685.00 (8% discount plus a $5 first time user promo). I wondered if the cards would be legitimate, if they would have their full value, and if they would be accepted at REI.

I purchased the cards at 7:55 PM ET on a Friday (4:55 PM PT).

The site said that, as a new user, I may need to wait one "business" day before my order was processed. It wasn't clear to me if Saturday was considered a business day or not, so on Saturday I sent support an email.

Cardpool support responded within an hour and stated "business hours [are] from 9:00 AM-5:30 PM Monday - Friday PST." They also asked that I "bear in mind that all orders that our processing agents are not able to get to by the end of business hour or submitted after business hours or over the weekend are not process until the next business day."

Surprisingly, a that same Saturday, I received an email with links to my electronic gift cards. The links took an extraordinarily long time to open but each seemed to generate a card number and PIN.

I took the card numbers straight to the REI website and submitted an order. All the cards worked so I am a happy customer.

The only suggestion I would have is that cardpool clarify the turnaround time. In today's world of immediate satisfaction, I would have expected to get the electronic cards quickly. If they cannot do that, then clearer expectations should be set with business hours posted on the website.

Having been through the process once, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I keep reading the reviews wondering why people are getting so upset about a site that sells used discounted cards. Yes it's risky thats what we get trying to get a deal. I've bought tons of cards from them yes a few were bad! I emailed carpool and was refunded. Would love to talk to alive person! Cardpool needs to get with the times. I think the Scammers ARE the people selling the cards. I think they keep the card info after the sell it then spend it.It's Risk I take not to pay the full price. I WILL SAY THEY WILL REFUND YOU.

I was worried after u made my purchase and reading reviews. I ordered a lowes gift card took a little longer than other companies to recieve. ALMOST 10 DAYS. But it arrived with the full amount ordered. Rating 4 star only because of delivery time. Would be nice to recieve within 3 days like some companies

Had a problem with a Lowes gift card I purchased for a Christmas gift. Lowes decided to stop accepting them. Took a little bit for card pool to get back to me, but they did and credited my account the full amount of of the balance. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the time it took them to respond.

This company was fantastic for buying and selling gift cards! They recieve 4 stars due to slow communication. I bought an e-gift card after a couple days of not receiving it I emailed them. They got back to me the next day apologizing for the delay and issued the card. I used it at the store and it had the exact amount on it. I then sold them a gift card and it was listed within a week. A few days later I received an email saying a buyer bought the card. Had to email them about payment after a week. I received payment by check in mail a week later after emailing them asking if they received the card. In all total it took 3 weeks from listing the card to receiving payment.

Sold 2 out of 3 gifts cards: 1x Shell gift card and 2x AMC Theater cards. They needed the Shell gift card to be sent in. I sent it Monday (10/2/17) and got a response by Thursday (10/5/17) that they were unable to check the balance of the Shell card and would be sending it back. However, the 2x AMC Theater cards went through without a problem and I received an email with an Amazon gift card code shortly after the first email (also claimed without a problem).
For reference, I only live 25 miles from their mailing address, so I expected a bit of a quicker response, but either way, I was at least able to sell 2/3 cards. My only gripe is that they didn't explain why they had a hard time checking the balance of the Shell card. I had no problem checking it via buyshellgiftcards.com. Oh well.

I've read some pretty dismal reviews on Cardpool's service (and good ones as well), but I decided to give them a shot. I exchanged 3 gift cards for a total of 75 bucks. I was offered $58.44 on an Amazon e-gift card. Unlike some reviews, I was not required to actually mail in the 3 cards; I submitted the card numbers and PINs on the web site and received a confirmation email stating my Amazon card would be emailed within one day. This was on 1/3. Long story short, (and not ALL Cardpool's fault) I finally got my Amazon e-gift card on 1/26. I redeemed it almost immediately without problems. Bottom line, Cardpool does provide the service they advertise, just don't expect your transaction to happen overnight. Be patient, allow a couple of weeks. Other than the wait, I was pleased with how effortless it was to exchange my unused gift cards for a card I would actually use.

After reading other reviews, I was very nervous about using this service. I was anxious about mailing my gift card with no guarantee I would get it or my money back. I tracked my envelope and followed the process and everything worked out. Phew! The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is that Cardpool gave me quotes on two gift cards and then wouldn't buy the 2nd one. I wasn't surprised because the 2nd one had an expiration date, but Cardpool did not ask or disclose this exception at the beginning of the process, which is one of the reasons I decided to use them. Cardpool was VERY good about communicating with me via email. Right away, I asked them not to send me both cards back. I asked them to buy the 1st card and mail back the unusable card. They did. I got my check a couple of days ago and all is well. I don't usually write reviews (maybe that's obvious from this one), but I wanted to reassure anyone else out there that Cardpool worked for me as advertised (minus the expiration date glitch).

So I bought a JCPenney giftcard today for a pretty good deal $30.81 for $22.50 (that was with their current promo running NewUser5 code) So that was great now 30 minutes later I was wondering where the electronic giftcard was and they sent a email wanting me to confirm the order and my link didnt work so I went to google and typed in CardPool order verification phone number and saw a number *******787 and this is where is all turned around. Guy that answered was very professional he said he just had a few questions to verify my identity, odd question but ones that I would only know so that was reassuring. I do appeciate the level of security they obviously offer but I do think it may be to much especially for those used to other discount card websites. After the phone call he said he would put my order to processing and that I would recieve ny gift card within 24 hours about 3 houra later I recieved my giftcard and was able to make the purchase I wanted from JCP for a steal! Overall I would use them again. That phone number though was probably a big factor in my transaction going smoothly. Hope it and this review can help you out! Thanks

I have only used this site twice, but times they were quick and easy to process. I am a buyer, not a seller, so that might make a difference. I am so 'stoked' to get gift cards at a discount! So it takes a few days to get the physical card... worth it to me. Will alert this site if something goes amiss. My mom just bought cards from them.

Tip for consumers:
Expect to wait for your cards, and don't be surprised at what the picture is on the card...(ie: more appropriate for a baby, wedding, etc)

I have been buying discounted cards from Cardpool for a few months now. Still as only a buyer - never a seller. During that time I rec'd one card which had a zero balance. Cardpool made good on the transaction right away - the same with Raise- they refunded my transaction without dispute. We have been able to save a good bit of money just by

I was nervous to send my giftcards to cardpool.com because of the negative reviews on this site, but I figured I might as well take a shot since the gift cards were collecting dust on my shelf for almost a year. I found the online transaction easy and I received my payment about 1 week after I mailed the gift cards. All in all it took about 1.5 weeks from Pennsylvania - California - Pennsylvania. I never received an email confirmation that my check was in the mail, though I could login to cardpool.com and view the status of my order at any time. Would have been nice to have a tracking# for the check too. But, alas. It all worked as advertised and I am a satisfied customer. Would recommend to a friend!

This company used to suck... I was warned about them... But then they got bought out. The Parent company of CardPool is now BlackHawk Network and they can be reached at *******990. I have been using Cardpool for several months now without any of the incidents I used to have in the past. The last time I had a bad GiftCard... they refunded me... Plus $10 as a thank you for my trouble. They returned my emails and returned my phone calls... I now recommed them to my friends.

Tip for consumers:

I have only purchased gift cards and they are a little slow to ship BUT I've always gotten exactly what I ordered. The cards have been perfect as well. I've used cardpool repeatedly with no issues. The issues seem to be more with the selling aspect but I definitely recommend buying their discounted cards.

I sent in my gift card and received an Amazon gift card code via email with in 24 hours as promised. Today I tried to use the gift code at the Amazon site and they did not recognize it. I typed it in using caps, no caps, dash, no dash--nothing worked. So lesson learned. * Update: I really need to apologize to Cardpool. I did not read the code correctly, mistaking an 8 for a B. When Cardpool replied to my email and explained my error I felt like an idiot. But most importantly, the new code worked just fine and I was able to make a purchase at Amazon.

Shipped FedEx so I had a tracking number. As advertised I received a confirmation email within 24 hours of they're receiving my card. Said I would get my check 3-7 business days. Got it in 4. Have not cashed yet but everything seems legitimate. My one small gripe is they have no support number to call just a VERY automated email service.

I had to spend $1300 on LL Beans, so I bought 2 e-gift cards; 1 was $7xx, and 1 was $5xx. The $5xx one ended up having an issue, so I contacted Cardpool and the representative said the card has to be "phone order" only so they can offer a refund or have me sort out on my end. The sale on LL Bean's website was about to be over, so I placed the order with the $5xx charged to my credit card in hope of getting the gift card resolved before they ship (they charge after shipping). The item went out of stock, and I waited 3 weeks and received a call saying the $5xx gift card was too suspicious and they cannot apply it. Cardpool refunded my money and I was ok.

I placed another $3xx order and bought from Cardpool to save money. It worked without an issue.

Lastly I bought a $1xx REI gift card, also no issue.

I think people giving bad reviews need to realize that Cardpool is probably not a big e-commerce merchant with sophisticated systems to deliver e-gift cards immediately. I really think they have few people checking emails and sending out codes manually. It's not Amazon.com or PayPal.com, so people really need to give it some slack. Just know that:

1) Don't expect quick turnaround on weekends, but unfortunately that's when most sales are.
2) If there is an issue, don't expect instantaneous support.
3) Don't buy a gift card and just sit on it. Use it immediately.

Overall, I'd buy from Cardpool again.

Just purchased 1500$ best buy e-gift card for 1440$ for the first time at card pool yesterday. And got it today! I read those reviews after i purchased the card so i was really worried for being scammed. I ordered them yesterday 5pm and this morning around 11am i got a phone call for verification, i was really suspicious about the verification calling guy so i looked up online for cardpool reviews and it made me even more worried. But then 3 hours later i got the card thru my email! :) just used them all right away at bestbuy "just in case" though. It was within 24hours and im very relieved since i used them all lol whew. No hassle for me :) the only reason im giving 4 stars is, since it was bulk order, it came with 20 different cards and by using them at the store i still had to pay 30 some dollars at the store. Which means some of those cards were missing total of 15$ish all together. I didnt have patience to go thru them and how many cards were missing a few bucks. And it was only 15$ so i gave up. Lol at least it came and i bought the product i wanted.
