CampingWorld Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation, with customers frequently expressing frustration over prolonged service delays, inadequate repairs, and poor customer support. Many reviews highlight issues with product quality and the perceived lack of accountability from the company, particularly regarding warranty claims and post-purchase service. While a few customers noted positive interactions with individual staff members, these instances are overshadowed by widespread dissatisfaction with sales tactics and unresolved complaints. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for improved customer service practices and greater transparency in product quality and repair processes.

Service Dept and outstanding Service Advisor
October 13, 2022

We only take our travel trailer to Camping World in Pasco, WA for service. They really go out of their way to help you out. Jordin, our Service Advisor, is the best! She keeps us "in the loop" and is super easy to talk to. I'd recommend them to any one seeking friendly, quick service for their home away from home!

I rarely post comments or reviews but in the case of Camping World I feel the need to do so. If you are considering doing business with Camping World, do yourself a favor: DON'T.

The service is terrible and the written and recorded verbal promises of Marcus Lemonis are laughably empty. All you get is the runaround. There is a reason that I-hate-Camping-World sites exist on-line.

Most recently, in my case:

• It was incredibly difficult to make a service appointment. I was scheduled months out.

• They then had my RV for over two weeks and still didn't complete the basic work they said they would do — including providing a simple insurance estimate for some roof/awning damage.

• The corporate rep I am supposed to be working with to remedy issues has not returned any of my many emails or calls over the last several weeks.

• When I call and talk to the corporate office coordinator, they tell me they are escalating and I will get a call back from a manager. That has happened several times over the last ten days or so and nobody has ever contacted me.

• There is no accountability at the store level or at the corporate level.

STAY AWAY!

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
October 7, 2022

Never will I take my trailer back there again. Took it in for a water leak 6 years ago they never found it. I found it myself and they wanted me to pay for it this time and I told them no. The awning I had replaced but they never told me the awning I had before with the LED lights on the roller bar was no longer made and the color they couldn't get, but they never told me, they took it upon them selves to pick the color. The LED lights they attached to the trailer and it looks like crap. More than this happened but this is the worst. Good bye Camping World.

Con men at work
October 3, 2022

Colfax Camping World
I recently traded a camper in for another.
Of course the initial offer in my camper was reasonable and when I can in suddenly there were issues with my camper and the could not offer as much. My initial response was ok I'll hook back up and come home. My wife like the new camper though so I countered and they accepted. It was a game played by the salesman and manager.
Now I see they are asking more than double what they paid me in trade and that for a camper they said a deer hunter might use.
(It had one soft spot in the floor of a storage compartment it turns out).
So we leave whit the new camper and extended warranty (a 2022 owned 6 months by a couple that got cancer and couldn't use it, I'm sure they too were cheated).
While setting it up for the next trip I find both LP bottles with broken valves. So I make the trip to exchange at our local camping world in Roanoke, VA and they will not exchange.
I then called into "Corporate" and was finally told I'd have to bring them in and they would return to manufacturer's for replacement, meanwhile, I'm without tanks. Did I say I had extended warranty, ain't worth the paper it's written on.
So, being a naive hill Billy, I was cheated on the trade and cheated on the warranty purchase by a company only interested in the bottom line, gone are the days of real service except in isolated regions of the world.
STAY AWAY FROM CAMPER WORLD, GOOD SAMS, or anyplace run by these CONS.

Horrible
September 29, 2022

Took my 2021 Durango Gold to Monticello location for a simple warranty fix. They had it for three months and managed to cause 10's of thousands of dollars in damage by backing it into other campers. The back 3/4's of the door side, slides, doors, walls, windows, and roof all needed extensive repairs and/or replacement. They also charged the manufacturer for around 6k in repairs and accessories that were never fixed and I'm still not sure why they billed for accessories. They didn't fix the warranty work (a shade, they simply swapped it for another one inside the camper, so the one they were to fix appears to be fixed but the broken shade is on another window). They trashed the inside of my brand new camper tracking grease, anti freeze, mud, and what appears to be some kind of adhesive all over, staining the flooring. They damaged the sofa and ottoman and used the toilet in the bathroom without flushing. They lost all my keys and key fob from my keyless entry. When I went to get my RV to pull it to the manufacturer dealer to have it fixed, they would not release it without me signing a waiver. When I refused to sign they said they couldn't release my camper to me. I had to call the Sheriff's Department who had to come and tell them they had to release my camper as it was not their property, even then the deputy was met with some resistance. They refused to give me their insurance information, even tho they were explained it is Minnesota law, they argued that it wasn't. I tried to contact corporate and was given the run around and referred to a general customer service line. A manager finally called me and we had a good talk conversation on a number of occasions and I thought we were getting things accomplished. Now all communications have stopped and no one will talk to me or return emails. I am in the process of requesting FOIA records on Camping World as the Sheriff's Deputy informed me this situation is constant (not confirmed). Once I receive the FOIA request I will post information and photos as well as the court case number.

Worst company in the world
September 16, 2022

This was the worst experience we have ever had in regards to purchasing a camper we drove 2 hours with promises that we're never fulfilled in regards to cleanliness damages and then we put down a deposit to hold the camper so that we could get there to actually see it as we only did through a virtual tour and find out the damages and shape of the camper we're not to our satisfaction and then when we asked to get a refund they said it was not refundable when we we did not even have a signed contract and this has been an ongoing problem that we have found out since whatever you do do not deal with Camping World the salesman work very disrespectful and arrogant especially Roger and Tim they harass us verbally as we left and made our way home if you look at all the rest of the reviews you will see whatever you do do not purchase or service anything through Camping World I was forced to put a rating on here actually I wouldn't give them any rating zero

I would never recommend anyone go to Camping World to buy a camper. The salesman either didn't know what he was talking about or lied to get me to drive to their store when he told me my ATV would fit in their Toy Hauler. Then after settling on a price they were going to force me to pay an additional $1,000 just for propane tanks and a battery (couldn't remove it). I decided to sleep on it and put down a refundable $1,000 check deposit. The next day I decided I didn't like how I was treated and let them know I didn't want the camper and they couldn't tell me what was going to happen to my check. Multiple emails to the sales manager and corporate office with zero response after multiple weeks. Have since talked to others that say they have had similar experiences. Wish I knew that before I went in there.

Rude manager
September 11, 2022

I ordered my grill, and when I received it it was damaged. I sent it back, and they sent me a new one. FedEx re-delivered the damaged one to me twice within 1 week, so I called camping world customer service talked to a young lady, then I asked to talk to a manager who's name is Zachary, and he was very direct, and very rude in his approach, and every time I would try to say something he would tell me not to cut him off. If I remember right, I am the customer, and I was trying to voice my opinion, and he wouldn't even give me the chance to say anything. Someone needs to teach him how to treat customers the right way, or fire him Based on his interaction, I would not refer any of my friends to camping world after this experience.

I'm cannot even write all the issues I've had with camping world in Windham. Purchased end of March, has been back there almost the entire summer ( still there) used it one time. I'm getting zero headway with them or corporate. I have consulted an attorney but held off to see if it would be fixed. Looks like it will be moving forward after my last phone call. Anyone else want to or think they have a case want to consolidate and go after them? I have consulted with one of the best attorneys in the northeast.

I highly advise anyone to look elsewhere. This company does NOT stand by their products. The routinely sell defective RV's. Then charge you more and do not even fix them. Just imagine spending $90K+ for an unusable RV.

Do not trust this dealership if you selling a pre-owned trailer. They lowered the price offered by 25% after inspection while the required repairs / replacements should have resulted in only a 10% reduction (based on retail costs from Camping World website and reputable tire company). Did not offer itemized costs to justify reduction. Clearly bait and switch strategy. I have never been treated so unfairly - and they definitely did not care!

Fu#k camping world
August 26, 2022

Just watched a video where camping world sold a rv for $ 90,000.00. The floor buckeled shortly after purchase. Rv was returned for repairs. Camping world charged $ 11,000.00 for repair that was in the same condition before repair. Camping world will never get my business and hopefully no one else will be foolish enough to throw their money away to Camping world either.

We purchased our motor home from Camping World in May of this year. There service department leaves much to be desired. I had to get the corporate office involved because we were promised wheel simulators that were on the motor home when we looked at it the first time and we we purchased it they we gone. I got the corporate office involved again when we needed the outlet for the power cord replaced because phone calls and emails to their service department were ignored and went unanswered. Weeks of frustration I decided to request the extended warranty we purchased be canceled and I also requested reimbursement for the months I paid for it and got absolutely nothing. I wish we hadn't purchased our motor home through them because once the sale is done they don't care.

Calling corporate is a waste of time and energy. Your family will continually be let down and disappointed. They cost us about $1500 that could have been avoided if they used even a shred of honasty.

Stay Away!
August 23, 2022

We went to Camping World of Berkley in MA. Terrible customer service and lack of call backs or communication. The general manager has zero customer service skills and Jill the salesperson is misleading and deceptive. These people are crooks. I told my sales person I would put $500 to hold a unit. I was told this was refundable if we decided not to move forward. We needed time to discuss and since no one in the finance dept was there we would have to wait to find out the terms. They charged my card for $1000. I said no big deal since it was refundable. We waited for financing rates/terms. All they could tell me was a "very low" monthly rate. This low monthly rate just happened to be for 15 years. In the meantime they "prepped" the unit despite the fact that we didn't sign a finance agreement or do our walk through. We weren't happy with the deal and decided not to move forward. Because the unit had been "prepped" (again despite the fact we didn't have a sales agreement, financing etc) we were charged a "prep fee". Which just happens to be $950. The general manager has been dodging calls since and every time I call I'm assured I'll get a call back. We have yet to hear anything or get a refund. Stay away!

Camping World in North Little Rock is by far the worst dealership of any kind that I have ever dealt with. For several reasons but the worst is the customer service from sales to service. Dealing with the disrespect for salesmen who do not want to do anything other than have you sign a piece of paper showing you bought one of their over priced campers down the the service department that will not call you back about your camper that has been in the shop for over 2 months. The only person I have talked to in the past 3 weeks is the receptionist who takes your message and then you never hear from them. There are many other things the complain about but if there's no customer service then that's all I would need to hear to change my mind about doing any business with them. So do yourself a favor and look sumwhere else for a camper. If I could leave this review without giving them a star rating I would but I have to so they get 1 star. I hope this helps with yalls decision.

This company does not even deserve the one star I had to give it to write this review. The level of deceit and dishonesty we were fed by the general manager Josh Mantooth and credit manager Travis Porter would make one sick. I won't even go into our whole ordeal because it would look more like a chapter in the novel of the "DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE." If we had only read all of these reviews first before ever stepping foot inside this place, we would have saved ourselves the headache.

Embarrassed!
August 16, 2022

I had a bad experience with Camping World in Fresno.
I had just bought a used trailer from them. When it came time for me to pick it up, they hadn't emptied out the crapper. So, I had to wait for them while they did it.
What's worse is that the battery died on me and I hadn't even had the trailer for 6 week. When I took the battery caps off to inspect it, I noticed that there was no water in it. So I filled it with water and it took over a liter. When I brought to the attention of the service rep there she tried to put the blame back on me by saying it was my own fault for not filling it sooner. Hello, I should not have had to do that already. I believe that no one checked the battery before the sold it to me.
That's really bad.
So the battery is fried. It won't even take a trickle charge. And this after only 5 weeks of owning it.
They are refusing to replace the battery.
Frankly, I'm embarrassed for these people at Camping World.
