Now I am being threatened to withdraw my review or they will withhold customer service from me. Nowhere in my review did I say I was charged $50 for shipping, not they made the ridiculous remark that if I wanted the discount (that I missed on my first order) added, they would then combine my orders and charge me $50. Which makes ZERO sense. I have included the email they send me, yes it is real, though even I personally find it hard to believe.

I was so excited when I found this source for DMSO. I ordered a gallon of DMSO for over a hundred dollars. I did not see that there was an additional discount available, so I placed a second order with the discount, figuring what a deal. Emailed them asking whether they could applied to my first order as well since I had simply overlooked the discount. Got the strangest call back telling me they could apply the discount to my first order but had to put my orders together and charge me $50 for shipping. I was puzzled, their website clearly stated free shipping for orders over $100. She acted like I was trying to be sneaky and avid shipping, very bizarre.
I just said cancel one order, since I was irritated by their illogical statements.
Then, item arrived and for whatever reason, it was jammed in my mailbox. I took it out and it was frozen. I put it my pantry to defrost, when it did, I noticed the leak and the gash on the side of the bottle. I emailed California pet pharmacy with pictures and it wasn't enough, they wanted the package it came in. Which I had thrown out.
Long story long, now I got a letter from the post office asking me for the same. Basically California pharmacy wants me to take it out with USPS.
I am out of $100, and they are out a very good customer. The end

I ordered Vetmedin, having confirmed they had it in stock, not on back order. That was Dec 29,2021. I paid for second day delivery and they charged my card on 1/1/2022. When the Vetmedin didn't arrive by the Phone calls got me put on hold for about ten minutes before I as told to "Leave a message." The Vetmedin finally arrived on January 10th.

Tip for consumers:
Order two weeks earlier than you would from other vendors. Better yet, use other vendors, skip the aggravation.

Even though THEY knew I was an 8 hour drive from their facility, they used the Inclimate weather ruse to get me to upgrade my already expensive shipping.
Now that I find they're 8 hours away(my bad) I really feel dupped

Do not ever purchase anything from this site!
I have been ordering from this site for years and have always ordered the same thing and used the $100 to get free shipping. Now they want to charge you $10 because it evidently reached a ghostly weight that they now have to charge you. It defeats the purpose of ordering for free shipment.

Tip for consumers:
Use someone else like Chewy or even amazon. Do not ever purchase a product from this vendor

Ordered a few times during COVID-19 for my dogs heart pills Vetmedin They came with no seal no box and when I bust them in half they crumble my dog has been on these pills for years I have never seen anything like it her health started to decline the last two months in and out of the hospital 4 vet visits in two weeks, compared the pills to another bottle I purchase from the vet these are not authentic or they're very old did reverse effects on my dog my dog stopped breathing because she needs her heart pills and unfortunately these were doing nothing for her and I was thinking they were very let down I called the company the girl told me that the pills should've came in a box and they never open the box well neither of my orders came in a box a manufacturing box, Call the manufacturing company and they assured me that my pills should've came in a sealed box my pills for my dog or tampered with I have a senior 13 year old dog with a grade 6 heart murmur and is in congestive heart failure this is a very big let down in a very big lawsuit selling old counterfeit pills

Second time I ordered a medication for my pet. First experience was ridiculous; could not coordinate medication order with my vet so medication was held up and arrived late; I had to pay overnight charges. Would not have ordered med a second time but had difficult time finding online pharm that carried it. Second time was not good either; I selected 2-3 day delivery and then sent it standard 5-7 business days from California! Finally found another supplier and had to reorder overnight from them. Also, they take take 48 hours standard processing time at a minimum even though your vet gets script approved same day. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! If you don't mind being jerked around.

They charged me $10.00 because the prescription I had was from a doctor, not a veterinarian. Said their terms and agreements allow for this. I complained and they insisted on charging me. Now I have to file a credit card dispute.

My husband and I have used California Pet Pharmacy for a few years now and have never been dissatisfied with the prices or shipping process of this company. In fact, we bought a year's worth of flea medication recently for our dog because it was a great deal; however, our dog unexpectedly passed away before we could use the first month of what we ordered.

When I emailed Customer Service to inquire about recommendations (because we understand that getting a refund would likely not happen due to it being a prescription), the response we got back was surprisingly cold, without any sort of acknowledgement that we have been customers for an extended period of time, that our dog just died, etc. It's not the biggest thing in the world, but customer service, I would hope at the very least after the death of a long-term customer, would entail a smidge of humanity or compassion.

If and when we have another pet, we will not do business with CPP again, even if the prices are comparable. I've heard incredible things about Chewy's customer service and will swiftly make the switch.

I ordered the popular antibiotic Baytril from this company because of the great price. I asked for the flavored tabs like I do at my regular pharmacy every time. After almost ten days, I was told that I would have to take the regular tabs, which are more expensive at this pharmacy, but the same price at others. I said okay, and several days later got a call that they were out of stock. Then another call saying they had only one bottle, not the two that I ordered. It finally arrived nearly three weeks after I sent my order, and since the single bottle was under $100, they charged $8 extra in shipping.

Don't use this pet pharmacy!

In Oct., 2014, my horse contracted EPM. The required medication was life-saving and very expensive. Since CCP's prices were more reasonable, I ordered the first month's supply of 4 syringes for $755. The box arrived with only 2 syringes. As I was out of the country, I did not contact them until 2 weeks later. They have repeatedly used this as an excuse not to credit my account for half of the cost for the first month. They have also continued to say that the shipping weight of the box was 2 lbs, which it was, but which was correct for only for the 2 syringes received. They have disregarded all of my attempts to explain the discrepencies in shipping weight between 2 syringes and the 4 syringes that had been ordered and paid for. I have disputed this charge with Discover card, who also took no effort to investigate the shipping discrepencies, and sided with the company. Their customer service is very poor and I will not use them again. My next step is to write to the company CEO, though I have been unable thus far to find that name. If anyone has it or can suggest how to find it, please let me know. Linda C. Martin

Days after my order is placed I receive a email saying either they can only place half of prescription or they need a new prescription! There are multiple refills on file so I have to call them every month to get them to fix their mistake! I paid extra for the faster shipping and was expecting these important heart medications the day i get email! I call and complain and ask them to ship them overnight since it was their error! They get a manager on the phone who is the rudest person i have ever talk to and she comes up with every excuse as to why they can't overnight the meds that I ordered 3 days ago and should have been here today! I finally tell her that it is her company mistake and they need to make it right and i can not wait another week on the meds! She says OH Well! DO not use this company!

I have never been treated so terribly before them! My rabbit has severe arthritis in her hips and takes metacam. I called September 30th to ask to have her medicine sent every other month and to automatically take the money. It's December 29th and no medicine. I called the girl was son beyond rude to me and kept putting me on 10 minute holds. She said I called and cancelled and they claim they called to verify. I called them out on their bull$#*! and Said that was not the case and that I wanted free overnight shipping she again placed me on a 10 minute hold said her manager wouldn't do that and that I'll get the standard shipping and still have to pay. I asked for the manager at this point and again another 10 minute wait. The manager Dorothy Sneider would not get on the phone with me to fix their mistakes so I said you go play my recordings you claim you have. They said they would and call me back they never called back and I cancelled my
Order completely and I'm taking my business elsewhere. Even that they put me on a 10 minute hold. The girl I spoke to this time was a nasty $#*! too and snapped at me a few times. Take your business elsewhere they are shady!

Ordered Droncit for stray cats. Web site showed a bottle of 50 pills. Said 23 mg per pill. Called to ask why I only got one pill and was told it clearly stated 1 pill on site. When I told her what it said I was told that I was the only person to ever not understand that. Didn't offer to send the right amount with free shipping or offer a discount. Just acted like I was stupid.

I placed an online order on Tuesday 9/25@1:30pm for 2 medications for my dog (Galliprant and Vetmedin). I received a call on Tuesday evening to call in because the Vetmedin was backordered. I called Wednesday morning, spoke to one of the representatives that asked me if I wanted to cancel the order for Vetmedin so Galliprant could ship right away. I told her to please cancel the Vetmedin since I needed Galliprant to be shipped ASAP. Today 9/28 I called to verify if it had shipped since I have not seen any emails from CPP stating it did. I was told that Galliprant has been on back order and they just received it and it will ship tonight. This means I will not receive the medicine until next week, but I'm running out of medicine by Sunday. I told them that since they didn't inform me of the back order for Galliprant at all, they needed to pay to get me the medicine overnight. They confirmed this was a screw up on their part, that they should have advised me of the back order, but still they would not ship it overnight. Now, I' left without any recourse because I will not be able to get the medicine I need for my dog before Tuesday of next week (vets do not carry that medicine, they need to order it). When I asked the supposedly supervisor Kayla (she refused to give me her last name) to put me with her supervisor, she said she would not do that. When I asked for the name of the owner of the company, she would not do that either. All that she continue to say is we apologize for the mistake, but we are not going to mail the medicine overnight. In other words, they don't care about their customers.

Find somewhere else to order from. I got to pay 35$ for overnight shipping 3 days later I received my vetsulin. That's not all. I ordered syringes and the alpha trac and on day 5 (paid overnight shipping) have yet to receive them. My dog is diabetic and I have rescheduled my vet apt 3x because of these people... I will never do business with them again and will be spreading the word. I gave them 1 star only because I had to. Ugh.

If I had a chance to place an order for my dog's Metacam again, I would have never done it with California Pet pharmacy. Frankly, this was my worst purchasing experience ever! They shipped the prescribed large size of the medication that had a very limited expiration date, which means that a good portion of it will have to be discarded. Well, I've had 3 honest and friendly attempts to resolve the issue only to realize that all was in vain! I was told various contradictory and evasive tales, asked to email a photo prove of the expiration date printed on the bottle, and again there were more of conflicting and inconsistent statements... I felt as if I were at some street bazar trying very hard to appeal to an unethical and deceiving merchant... At the very end of my final phone conversation with a customer service representative, I was told-verbatim et litteratim- that they had "... a big box of Metacam that will expire soon and we need to get ride of it as soon as possible."
How do you like that, gentle readers? I personally didn't like it at all and still feel bad. Yet, I was told the truth at last, wasn't I?

Aweful exoeience! Some of the worst customer service I have ever come across. Waited a month to get the meds I had ordered, and eventually had to pay the 35$ for the order to be overnighted only to discover that they shipped only one of the 4 heart meds my dog needed. They would not overnight the rest st their cost even though they screwed up the order, Vanessa the customer service manager put words in my mouth and said that I had only expressed concern about the one medication that was shipped, not true! Aweful! Cancelled my order and will work with another company. Ended up costing more time and money and never got my order!

Beware! This company shipped meds my vet refused to authorize!

I ordered three prescription products and provided my vet contact information. After receiving the products (later than expected), I phoned my vet to follow up on what to look for should my dog have a reaction to the new medication. To my horror, I was informed that my vet had NOT authorized California Pet a Pharmacy (CPP) to dispense this product. 2 of the 3 prescription-only items were approved, but one was NOT. I might very well have used the product on my dog after receiving it, believing it must have been approvedluckily, I made that extra call, and my vet instructed me NOT to use the product. When I contacted CPP, they told me they had "verbal authorization" from the vet tech. They provided her name and the date/time of the call, but have NO PROOF of the authorization my vet's office denies providing. Authorization was given for the other 2 products, only! This could have become a dangerous situation. I expected CPP to apologize for their negligent act; instead, they continue to insist there was vet authorization, even though my vet denies that.

I recently placed an order with California Pet Pharmacy. Actually it was 8 days ago. I still have not received the meds and I explained to the girl who took my order that my dog had to have her heart meds refilled and delivered within 6 days. She suggested that I pay for expedited shipping and I did. Still no meds! It's the weekend and I have to go to an emergency vet and pay big bucks. NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!

Beware of this company. They sent me two six month supply's of heartworm medicine or pills and the box and the pills had an expiration date of 12/2017. I just received there pills from California Pet Pharmacy on 05/20/2017. I don't know if this situation is unique but apparently they may buy from a distributor and in my view provided my pets with almost outdated or short dated pharmaceuticals. I called Virbac, the manufacturer and they said I was sold "short dated drugs", but they may last through 2018. They also shipped it in a box handled via the snail mail which was exposed to a lot of heat and left in my hot mail box instead of delivered to my door. I guess I could have chosen better shipping options. Warn your local vets about this possible practice, maybe this is a one time incident, but who knows. It may cost more to buy from your local vet, but at least it's not short dated drugs exposed to a lot of time and storage.

There seems to be a shortage of Quellin, which my dog needs for arthritis. Advertised on the front page of California Pet Pharmacy's web site with no indication that there's any shortage, I happily order on Oct. 1st. On Oct. 1oth I get an email (not a phone call after ten days, but an email) that, gee whiz, they're out (although STILL advertised on front page of their site). Well I'm upset., silly me, but I don't want my dog in pain. On the 11th of Oct. I replied with the replacement medicine I wanted (of the options they'd given) and asked that it be sent as soon as humanly possile and commented on what TERRIBLE customer service they had! On Oct. 16th I wrote and asked if it was on the way! The reply I got on the 17th astounded me. They acted as though my reply to their initial email never existed and asked if they could make a substitution. Now my poor, 13 year old dog is out of medicine. I called twice with the hold time on the first call actually running my phone out of minutes. When I explained the situation and how upset I was, the woman I was speaking to actually laughed. Now... 19 days later, I'm still waiting. No frickin' way EVER again!

I have been purchasing meds from theses people for many years now and never had any problems.The past year or so I buy meds and never get a tracking number. I have asked numerous times what is going on and ALL I get is apologies. To say the least I am getting tired of it. I will be writing to corporate. I think they need to re vamp thier shipping dept. I will be contacting Jessica on Monday 1. 22. 18.

Deceptive & incompetent is my opinion of this company.

I ordered a product called Premend "10ML" from them early on Feb 25. I paid for Priority shipping. It did not ship for another two days with no notice that the meds would be shipping late. When it arrived on Mar 1, four days later, the package contained a "3ML bottle". Remember this is a medication for my dogs eyes.

When I called them, they made a couple of offers for resolution, including return of the original, none of which helped my dog or that would reduce the time until another package arrived with a return label for the original shipment and quicker availability for my dogs meds.

I would not use this company again.

DO NOT EVER USE ***CALIFORNIA PET PHARMACY***!
They claimed I would have my Revolution in 3 to 7 days and now after 9 days they are giving me the run around and cannot even tell me when my meds will arrive for the boys.
This is terribly sad as my boys are scratching like crazy because they need their Revolution.
I want to cry as now they have my money for the meds and I cannot get any answers as to when it will arrive.
Miss Jessica Smith of customer service offered me a $3 credit for my trouble...$3! I mean seriously?! My order was $113!
I told her I would be spreading the word on how horrible their company is and how their customer service and their practice was misleading and just plain wrong. THEY TOLD ME THEY SCREWED UP and then later tried to make something up saying the med was on backorder.
They waited two extra days to process the order which was NOT according to what they say they do.
Once the rx is approved (which it was on the 6th and my money taken as well...) then it has to go through some process she couldn't even explain to me for 24 to 72 hours... then they send it USPS 3 to 7 days... I should have had it by now and I do not.
I explained I would be calling the Better Business Bureau on them and would be spreading the word on their sad and unprofessional approach to business.
PLEASE SHARE, DO NOT USE CALIFORNIA PET PHARMACY!

Rx faxed TO Cali Pet Meds from my veterinarian on a Saturday and the following Friday it is STILL not filled yet. I have called numerous times, return phone call requests were NEVER done, ridiculously long hold times for speaking to customer service, poor attitude from customer service when I tried to resolve the problem. No offer to expedite shipping secondary to the delay caused by their incompetence. Spoke with a "supervisor" Gina who was not only NOT sympathetic or apologetic but she refused to transfer me to ANY other manager or someone who might actually care about being professional and provide good customer service and problem resolution. Chewy is far superior in customer service but unfortunately they don't stock the medication that I need. But ANY other mail order pet pharmacy will be better than service that you may receive from Cali Pet Meds unless you get entirely lucky in the ordering process and by some miracle have a good outcome. Good luck. Hope this helps someone in the future.
