I Love all the Cabela stores and often will make stopping at one of them part of our travels around the country. They have a great shopping experience and there are some good deals to be had. I like to buy online but sometimes you need to touch and feel the products or try them on, and having a wide variety in one place makes it our go to. The clothing is better now that Bass Pro purchased them. Overall we like Cabelas very much

BUYER BEWARE - I purchased a brand new Kimber from Cabela and paid full price. The firearm would not fire straight out of the box! Now I am shipping it to Kimber for a fix. Cabela said they could not exchange due to it being a firearm. They later admitted that is a Cabela policy. They could exchange but CHOOSE not to. So in essence, we paid full price for a gun that will have to be repaired and there is no recourse. I will NEVER purchase another firearm from Cabela. If you purchase a firearm here, know their policy is just a Cabela thing. Some gun shops stand behind what they sell, this one doesn't!

I forgot how much of a hassle and costly it is to ship something back to you that I have ordered. I will never order something online from you again. I can get the same thing from Amazon but wanted to try some of your shorts. Bad mistake! Returning a pair of shorts I paid $26 for cost me $13 to send them back. There's no way that small pair of shorts should have cost me that much to ship back to you!

I bought four pair of shorts from Amazon and one from Cabela's. the four I bought from Amazon fit the Cabela's pair did not. ended up costing me half of what I paid for them to ship them back to them and get my credit which was only $13 for $26 pair of shorts

Ordered a Kimber. Paid online
2 weeks later, went in to find out that the product was at the store, but not put into their system.
I did the background check and was put in the que.
2weeks later got an email that my order was canceled. Refund processed.
Went in to repay for the product and found out that my item is on a hard hold from corporate. Even if my BC was approved, I couldn't purchase it.
It's been 1.5 months.

I had a few giftcards loaded onto their online portal after they refunded my purchase which they could not fulfill. When I went to long back in after a while of not shopping on the site, I could not log in, IT told me they had deleted my account due to inactivity (Less than a year) and the money I had on the account could not be recovered. Bull$#*!. Feels a lot like theft, even if it was just $50. At least IT was polite.

Tip for consumers:
Dont trust them with money, they will steal from you.

Heading to Florida for vacation and the opportunity to hunt the predatory, over-populated pythons. Looking for.38 Special Snake shot shells, checked on line and saw that Cabela's has them in stock. The day before we are heading out I received an advertisement saying "order before 1pm and pick-up the order the same day. I thought, why play around, so I ordered 2 boxes on-line around 11:30. We headed out to the Hamburg PA store around 4pm, figuring that if they haven't pulled them yet, we can just go get them for ourselves and cancel the order. When we arrived, we went to the Service Counter to see if the pickup order was ready. It was not and the woman at the counter stated that "it can take a couple of days" until I told her about the "same day pickup" ad that I had received. I said I would go back and get them myself and she indicted that "there are 16 in stock". Then, you guessed it! When I went to look for them and found 9mm only, I asked one of the floor employees who clearly knew that there were no.38 special snake loads. When we returned to the Service Counter to express our frustration, the woman indicated that "we wouldn't be charged for them". Really? How generous! I would usually suggest that you call first, but chances are that you will get the same clueless individual who screwed-up the inventory in the first place.

I placed an online order for a handgun available for Cabela's "Ship to Store" option which clearly states across their website in multiple locations that it is typically "Delivered in 2-3 Business Days". After 4 business days of the order indicating "In-Process" I spoke with a very informative customer service representative. She stated that seldom, if ever, will the order arrive in 2-3 days. The only exception being if it's shipped via FedEx which is almost never done. The most common shipping method is via the regular inventory truck and that will be a minimum of 10 business days with an additional 2 days to unload and place into inventory. This is a flat out lie being perpetrated on the customer via Cabela's online ordering policies published on their website as well as in-store employees in the gun department. Caveat emptor when it comes to purchasing from Cabela's/Bass Pro Shop. I certainly won't be doing business with them again over this incident.

Tip for consumers:
Do not expect your Ship-to-Store order to arrive in 2-3 days as stated on Cabela’s website. The minimum delivery time will be 12 days.

I exchanged a dog harness the receipt was incorrect.the new harness was 10 dollars cheaper the customer service person told me since the receipt was incorrect I could Not receive the 10. Dollar difference. I think that was uncalled for do not think I will be back.

Went to Cabela's to stock up on some hunting and fishing gear and the employees we're being way too nosy in my business. They followed me around one by one until I pulled out a wad of money and then I couldn't find an employee. They were out of stock of all the best items. One employee said they get stock in every week and another said they have a hard time getting anything in. I wasn't dressed with egg stains on my shirt and I was there to purchase which I did but not the amount I would have because of the way I was treated. Customer service is down the toilet especially at Cabela's.

Tip for consumers:
Never use the site only been in the store. At this point I would rather use Amazon and that's not for me but what a store employee told me about prices. So I'm going to take his advice instead of having people follow me around where I have to pull out $100 bills to show I'm there to buy instead I can stay home an order online. Also I'm sick of wearing those masks nobody should have to wear a diaper on their face.

I used to love going to Cabela's. Not only for hunting gear, firearms, or camp stuff, but just to tool around. I'd hit the Great Lakes Grill (for elk sandwiches and strawberry cake mostly) and the mini shooting range they had in there, dig through the Bargain Cave, stare at the taxidermy, or sprawl on cots in almost house-sized tents. I visited multiple times a month, sometimes a week. But all of that changed after the buy-out by Bass Pro Shops.

There was an electrical fire in the shooting range one evening. Instead of fixing it, they boarded the wall up as if nothing had been there. Prices on everything in the store rose. The Grill closed. All the little counters for watches, jewelry, optical, and in the Bargain Cave disappeared. As did much of homegoods and toys, and a lot of the backpacking gear. And the warmed, roasted nuts and popcorn usually for sale on the first floor.

In the Bargain Cave in particular the shelves were all taken down; no gun, archery, hunting, or camping-related items left. Only clothes, and those still over-priced. Much of the extensive hunting items and outdoor gear downstairs were replaced by cheaply-made spendy clothing and boating/fishing stuff. And selection in nearly every category was much thinner than before. A woman looking for tough, lightweight outdoor clothes or gear? Forget it.

I asked a staff member in camping for outdoor bathroom related gear for my next canoeing trip and he told me I'd have to go to a military surplus store for long-term outdoor hygiene needs. As for a camp trowel for digging a latrine-- I was recommended a heavy shovel that had a saw blade attachment on it.

Ultimately, I am very sad to see how much of the little things that made my Cabela's great gone. A Bass Pro Shops logo hovering over every shelf reminded me I wasn't really in the same store anymore.

I went to the hamburg store today and was so disappointed at the lack of stock in the gun department. Almost no gunpowder, bullet heads, loaded ammo, and reloading parts. I drove almost 2 hours to get there, which i now know is not worth the drive. Ever since bass pro took over it's been a failing store. What a shame. There are not many sporting goods stores like it, but at this rate it will fail. Cabelas, if you are listening fix these problems or sportsman will go buy somewhere else. High prices and no stock, what do you think is going to happen. Signed a sad sportsman.

buy online, not much in the store. bare shelves.

Made an order for a bunch of tackle on September 20th. Expecting to get part of the order today or tomorrow (nine or ten days later) which is slow shipping but not a deal breaker. The issue is that over half of the order did not even ship out until nine days after placing the order. No communication from Cabela's at all about why the delay. When I contacted customer service I got a canned response that it was beyond their control. Now I can expect to receive the rest of my order on October fifth if it is on time. 15 days from order to delivery is not acceptable in todays world. And the lack of communication on their part is also not acceptable. I would guess that this is just the usual way they do business these days.

I have been a Cabela's customer for many years, and generally they have been very good. I have not had a problem with their customer service or general willingness to help you find something, but I really have a problem with their website. IT IS TERRIBLE. The most recent example is: I type in the search bar: "swivel chair for ground hunting blind." What I get is tee shirts and other items that have nothing to do with hunting blind chairs. I have tried 4-5 variations of this with no success. It was easier to google the search and go somewhere else.

In store order for a gun on sale, the guy told me it would be sent to store in 5 days and I could pick it up then. Ordered on Mar. 4 2017, waited anxiously until Mar. 11 2017. Went to Cabelas and checked to see if it had arrived and it had not. He said they would call me or e-mail me. I found out I had a tracking number on my receipt so I tracked it. My order had been canceled immediately on Mar 4 2017. I call Cabelas and got a bunch of Bull Crap for reason why it was canceled. Very disappointed.If they didn't have any more of the guns it should have showed up when I did the paperwork to order it.
