Tip for consumers:
Unbiased review and latest info
Probably www.history.extra.com is a wonderful site, but in the free trail I discovered I was not able to understand the video's because of the lack of subtitles. So at the same day I started the free trail I ended it the way I was told in the welcome mail.
Now four months later I see my credit card is charged monthly for the abonnement.
Follow up: Eventually History.com responded to my emails in a very elegant way. They apologized sincerely and gave a fully refund. And an offer for a year free membership (I won't use this offer, because my understanding of spoken English is not good enough and there are no subtitles, but I appreciate the offer)
Tip for consumers:
Pay secure attention to stopping a free trail. And if you need subtitles don't try.
In the end all ended well.
An absorbing read. Advice I always appreciate and many times a resource that influences my outlook on my investments.
Fraudulent service - I placed an order for Performance Bikes as a birthday present for my husband. Order was placed on 9/26. On 12/8 I sent an email via the magazinecity customer service checking the status. I never received a response despite the fact that their website says they will respond to ALL emails with 8 - 10 days. On 12/20 I sent another email inquiry, no response. On 12/23 I called, customer service rep LIED to me and told me we were still within the 10 - 12 week order processing period and we would receive the magazines shortly. I called today 12/29 and was told that on 12/23 I was told we would receive the magazines end of 1/09 or 2/09. I was never told that. 4 - 5 months to start a magazine subscription is ridiculous. This company is a fraud.
I have had several of these and am told there is no such website. I'm surprised that a well-known magazine like Reader's Digest would do this. I have subscribed to their magazine for many years.
I have not received my order placed on Oct. 21 (today is Nov. 6). Voicemails and emails have been ignored; however, they charged my credit card the day the ordered was placed. The website claims you can check the status of your order, but nothing happens when you click on the button for it.
National Geographic violates the UN Charter in its maps. It produces false content that appears to be an attempt to normalize illegal occupation and annexation. In this day and age, it is utterly unacceptable to abuse the influence of a once reputable establishment for spreading false maps. International borders cannot be changed by force, and humanity has proven this in the second world war at an astronomical cost of life loss. Yet, here we are again!
I ordered a magazine subscription from this website in October 2012. It is now February 2013 and I have not received the magazine and they charged me for it. I have emailed them twice with no response. I called them and was told the "manager" would call me back but he/she never called me. Do not buy from this website!
A nice and well organized site for getting to know the news context. It's a bit disappointing that there is no app.
